We are in port from 8:00 to 11:00 pm. on Sept. 10. We would like to go to Soller, Valldemosa and also spend some time in Palma. Looks like we can take bus 210. Does this sound too ambitious?
-
We are looking at a private tour that goes to Valldemosa (1 hour), then to Stoller (1 hour), then back to port. Is that enough time in each place? If not, which town would you suggest?
-
Cruisemom, I would also like a copy of your notes. We will be there in September. Email is travelbug1948@hotmail.com. Thanks.

We will be in Dubai in a couple of weeks. We need to get a taxi from the airport to our hotel. There are six of us with luggage. Do they have taxi vans?
-
Thanks for the info. I am looking at a private tour that would allow us more time in Aix so am leaning towards doing it that way. Always fun to plan and it sounds like a good day.
-
After looking at it some more, we decided just to spend our day in Aix. We'll be in Toulon. Do you think 4.5 hours was enough? Do you see any need for a guide?
-
We are looking at two tours from Toulon. One is to Aix de Provence (5 hours). The other is Aix de Provence and Marseille (8 hours). Should we try and do both or just go to Aix de Provence?
-
We use oceanwavetours.com and we were happy with the tour and would definitely use them again.

We did a private tour (can't remember the name of the tour company) and thoroughly enjoyed our time in both towns. The bridge is long but not too bad unless it' s hot. I hope you do decide to go.

Perhaps someone can clarify this for me. I was chatting with someone from HA yesterday and asked about the deeper verandas on Deck 4. He said that the Westerdam underwent a refit in July 2015 and that the verandas on Deck 4 were now all the same size. Unless I misunderstood him. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

It looks like the aft cabins are gone (no surprise) but if we were going to get a forward cabin, how many cabins back would you suggest to avoid the wind? We are looking at deck 6. I can't tell but from the diagram it looks like there is a deck across the front. Would we have access to it?
-
OK, I will try a dummy booking.
I have short legs also but unless it's a big bathtub, it's probably not worth bothering about. We've never had a bathtub on a cruise so I can live without one.
-
I meant to say we never left our balcony except for trips to the back deck. And we had a great lecturer who talked nonstop from the time we entered the canal until we existed it. He definitely knew everything there was to know and we didn't want to miss a word.
Also, how do you find out which cabins are booked?

The last time we cruised the Panama Canal from Atlantic to Pacific, we had a cabin on the starboard side and weren't bothered by the sun, but I think it must have been cooler than normal because the heat wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be. And we never moved from our balcony. Luckily we had access to the back deck so would go out there occasionally. Otherwise, we never left the deck from 7:00 to 5:00. Even ordered room service for lunch.
But thanks for the reminder because if we go in March, it may be hot and shade in the afternoon would be good. So we will pick the starboard side if we do the Pacific to Atlantic cruise.
Also, I love me a good bath but is the tub big enough to enjoy a bath?

Do you remember your cabin no?

The 19 day cruise. Are some balconies bigger than others without going up to a suite?
-
We are thinking of booking a Panama Canal cruise in 2017. Am looking at booking a cabin in Categories VD, VE or VF. There will be 3 couples (3 cabins) so we would like a bigger balcony so we can get together occasionally on one balcony. Any suggestions for deck, cabin (or cabin category)?

Was this a private tour or a big bus tour? There will be 6 of us and we're considering doing a desert safari with greenlandtourism.

We booked a tour with Joe Banana to Capri. We were picked up at the dock, driven to Sorrento where we boarded a boat for the trip to Capri. We stopped at the Blue Grotto, Piccolo Marina, made a stop for a swim off the boat, lunch on the boat, then finished our tour around the island and headed back to Sorrento where we had time for shopping or a bite to eat, and then back to Salerno. It was a perfect day.

Go Fish, we are going to be in Dubai in April for 1 1/2 days which includes a Friday so could use some help in planning our itinerary. Could you email me at travelbug1948@hotmail.com? We are also staying at the Arabian Courtyard. Thanks.

We just recently stayed at the Hotel Basileus and highly recommend them. It gets great reviews on Tripadvisor. The owner and staff bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. It's walking distance to all the major tourist sites,

Thanks. I'll have my friend try it and see if it's close enough.
-
She's already tried that. She said it's close but not the same.

Does anyone have a recipe for the Stilton Blue Cheese mousse with Waldorf salad which a friend enjoyed on an Alaska cruise several years ago. She tried to get it through Princess but they wouldn't share.

Thanks. I think I'll take your suggestion. What are the must sees in Palma?
