  1. Just finished a cruise where I booked using similar voucher. Also did one last year Here is how mine worked You pick up or are mailed a voucher that explains the process Mine was as follows: Pick a cruise anywhere that is less 8 days or less Call phone number on voucher (it is carnival reservation #) and give them voucher #. If interior room available - they will pick and book room for you I had to pay port taxes and fees (refundable if cancel) for 2 people I also had to pay a $100 deposit for each person which becomes a credit to each person's ship account to spend when you arrive on ship. If you cancel you loose the deposit meaning deposit is not refundable. Very simple process - no catches - great deal= all you are paying for is the port fees and taxes and can go on an up to 8 day cruise (if it is same as offer I had from local casino). Guess you can upgrade room if you want to but interior is fine for me.
  2. Looks like Baltimore may get rain Saturday through Tuesday from the remains of Hurricane Ian., Planning on leaving my car their Saturday for an 8 day cruise Do you think the outdoor port parking lot could get flooded? Would the port administration give any type of warning not to park there? If so, any alternative parking areas like a multi level garage?
  3. Letter stated that Ships impacted were Magic - Sept 17th sailing and Legend Sept 17through Oct 1st //"Due to challenges with some of the ship’s satellites, there will be limited Wi-Fi access during your cruise. We will automatically refund all pre-purchased Wi-Fi packages as an onboard credit to your Sail & Sign® account. The social and value plans will still be available for purchase at the discounted pre-cruise price, should you decide to purchase on board on a daily basis. The premium plan will not be available." I am on the Oct 1st 8 day Legend cruise Has anyone experienced this before? Limited access means? Will they only list a plan to purchase if access is decent - otherwise you buy it and could be waste of money Would access be better using their internet cafe computers? Confirm we would purchase the daily plan for 24 hours via Carnival Hub App
  4. I just purchased a wifi plan for upcoming cruise When on the ship, I am thinking you need a user ID and password to access Carnival wi-fi When and How do you create the user ID and password?
  5. Another question - not on my initial list Legend expected to dock around 10 - is that about the time it does or usually arrive earlier or later For those recently sailed - was it on time and how long wait till you debarked If you debarked with your luggage about what time did yo get to parking lot How is it getting out of parking lot? Thanks in advance
  6. Sorry - meant the open air lot at cruise port
  7. Carnival Legend is scheduled to arrive at 10 Is it usually on time (or early/late?) What time does debarktation start Aprox time you got off ship if carrying own luggage Our car is in garage - easy to get out? Thanks
  8. Thanks to all who responded - your comments are a great help
  9. Thanks Iamsteph Can any other Legend cruisers comment?
  10. I have an upcoming 8 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Oct 1st with 30 year old son and I am not familiar with the Legend (Spirit class). For those who traveled on it say in the past year What are your likes about the ship? What's your favorite feature? Any dislikes? I wished they had outdoor movies by the pool Note: We don't drink but still go in the bars to see entertainers (i.e., piano bar) I also have some some specific questions: Serenity Deck - is it a big area meaning do you generally get a lounge and/or clam shell you go there around 9 or 10 in AM?. Do people put their towels early in AM to reserve lounges and clam shells. Other than the serenity deck is their any other place you go to for quite R&R - is their a lower deck on the ship that has lounge chairs? How is the wi-fi - is the value plan good enough to access e-mails and some news or financial sites or should I get the premium. Is connectivity/speed better using a PC in the internet cafe - can you go in there 24/7? How many outlets in an interior room and where? We are in middle of deck 7 - is that an OK deck to be on? Our room is 7234 - last of 3 interior room after the atrium by elevators. Not sure what is after our room going towards the back of ship - is that an open area before one row of interior rooms start again? Is pizza still the only place open after 11? Long line? Confirm they stopped the late night snacks in buffet area In the casino - Is there a non smoking area - is it a good size area or small area and does it only have slots? Lastly - If you made any telephone calls - what did you use? My provider T-Mobile advised they do not have cellular data on the Legend and rate for a call would be $5.99 a minute. Can you still use cabin phone @ $1.99 a minute. My son just wants to say hi to his 5 year old as it is the first time they are apart for an extended period of time so it would be just a few minutes each night. Can you make calls from the ports (Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Amber Cove) or on the ship when docked? Thanks in advance for any information/comments.
  11. Is there free wi-fi in Amber Cove Port area - where? If not - what is cost? Anyone know if you can use the wi-fi internet to make calls back to U.S. - Cell phone provider is T-Mobile
  12. Did you purchase a wi-fi plan AND for what purpose? Is so, which one and how was the connectivity and speed
  13. General Question - how is the wifi connectivity and speed for searching internet or using websites using value plan or should I use premium plan? I just want to check my e-mail, some News related and my financial websites. Would connectivity speed be any better if I went and used the PCs in the Internet cafe vs Samsung phone Other questions - this is our major issue I convinced one of my children (single dad raising a 5yr old) to take a break and join me on a cruise 8 day Caribbean out of Baltimore - stops in Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber cove He is concerned as to how he will be able to call his son and sister(who will be watching him) just for a few minutes each day as this is his first extended away time Is it true that Carnival blocks wifi calling (and texts)? Last year I had no issue making or receiving call on Princess cruise line. If so, I guess he can use Whatsapp, and Snapchat and Skype - if he goes with premium plan - is it worth it? (he never used these before) I also read on the discussion board that there is a phone in room for $1.99 a minute but that could add up if daily calls I looked at T-Mobile (both of us use them) but am very confused - I found a 10 day international calling plan for $35 and lists this as being good for cruises. Anyone ever use that for cruises? How does it work? - do you keep your phone on or off airplane mode and just make calls/send texts and they cover under the $35 plan. Further looking at T-Mobile website for cruise coverage and when I put in Carnival legend it says - for all T mobile plans calls are $5.99 a minute. So what happened to the $35 plan? I realize I will need to call them but wanted to see if anyone had used this. Lastly, Do you know if T-Mobile has coverage at the ports of Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk and Amber Cove? Is there free internet at these ports. If yes do you specifically know which establishments at each port Any information/suggestions you can supply will be greatly appreciated.
