  1. The Gift Bag is a very nice idea....something that I would also probably do. ;)

Instead of bringing / packing all the supplies needed with me for something like that....and possibly duplicating some items, etc., so I went another route. I decided to order Chocolate Dipped Strawberries and have them waiting for them in their 3 cabins! :D Along with the strawberries, there was a printed card with them wishing them all a wonderful cruise signed from us. I ordered it all on line....nothing to pack!

It was very easy.....and relatively inexpensive (less than $10 ....although the price has gone up a little since then) and they all greatly appreciated the thought and loved the strawberries! :D

  2. The self-serve laundry rooms were open when we got on the Golden Princess at 11:30 am. I asked at the front desk what days they would be open, and was told they would stay open for the entire cruise. They did in fact stay open through the following agenda:

    Vancouver (0), At sea (1), Juneau(2), Skagway(3), Glacier Bay(4) where we washed clothes, Ketchikan (5), Victoria (6), Seattle (7).

Thank you for your response and clearing this up for me.....and many others I'm sure. :D

Just off the Golden and I did laundry twice during the cruise - I had no problem with any restrictions in the laundry room.

Thank you for your information too. :D

I am happy to have a clear answer on this now. I will be able to pack much lighter. You've made my day!

My husband thanks you too! ;) :D

  3. We were on this cruise as well and I have to say, a warning several days in advance would have been nice. We did read the patter, only we got it after we returned to our cabin after dinner. They closed the laundry rooms the last 2 days of the cruise, just when we needed to wash a few things for our last cruise days and 2 additional days in Vancouver.

We just had to wear dirty clothes for a few days and wash undies in the sink, we survived.

Wow....am I confused with all this. So there were some days when the laundromat and / or the valet service were available? I've read that they are closed the last 2 days but yet on another post someone is wiriting they weren't open until the last day. I understand that there are different ships doing different routes.

I am trying to figure out if and when I will have access to the laundromat on my Saturday-to-Saturday cruise on the Golden Princess out of Seattle next week. Will this be available at all....and if so....what days.

    * Will it be available when we board on Saturday....or once out of Puget Sound?

*Cruising up the coast on our first full day...while in the Pacific....will I be able to do laundry?

I'm reading many of these posts as that once we are further up the inside passage that there's no options for laundry.

This is only an issue as we are on a 11 day trip and I didn't want to pack too much so was planning on just doing laundry once on board on that first sea day. (I also hate traveling with too many dirty clothes. )

I have been chuckling a little while reading all the posts on this thread. As my luck would have it....this is my first cruise after earning my Elite status....earning the perk of some free laundry. :D Now it is looking like it's something that I won't have as an option on this cruise....when I could use it! LOL!

I don't care if I do a load of wash or I can send it out....I just want to be able to get some laundry done so I don't have to bring more than the 2 checked bags that I have as of now.
