  1. I'd say you should have burned the $12.00 rather than read this whine by a chronic complainer. He just looked at , and invented, everything bad in order to write a book. There is no attempt at balance in this piece of trash.

There was not a single item in the book that was new or different than things discussed here.

:D Thanks Dan-Man ! :D I did read this book after taking my first cruise and had not yet got involved with chats here @ Cruise Critic. It did offer some info although very Biased things against the cruise industry. Things like when RCI started their "Save The Waves" program to save the Oceans from pollution and then were cought /documented & fined millions of $$ on several occasions for Dumping Oil and Dirty Bilge water into the Oceans during the overnights on ships such as the Sovereign of the Seas. As I said, It didn't change my love for cruising and I would agree that most if not all that is in this book get's discussed on these boards at one point or another but for a quick read it was alright. The author of that book says he went on 30 cruises to base his opinions and interviews for this book. Certainly their are many of our Brothers and Sisters here @ Cruisecritic that have that # Beat but that is still an impressive # in this Humble jailers opinion..:D P.S. The next extra $12.00 I get I will toss in the Trash for you though ok ?;)

  2. I like biographies and such. Not really into the romance novels. I do like mysteries too. Any suggestions? I'm going on a 7 day cruise with a forcast of rain, so I'll need to occupy my time with a book that will hold my interest for a while. :) Thanks

Their is a Great Book that came out in 2002 Called "CRUISE SHIP BLUES" It tells all the diffrent things that cruiselines spend Millions and Millions of $$ a year to try to keep "US" The customers from knowing ! It is a paperback and about 300 pages long and is VERY interesting ! Give it a try.. It didn't change my love for cruising but did give me some new prospective on some things..I bought it on E-Bay for $12.00

  3. I talked a buddy into booking Cat 11 # V-15 (He's a little guy) and a Cat 12 just opened up so I leaped on it like a "BUM ON A BOLOGNA SANDWICH" (For lack of a better term)So now I'll get the best of both worlds and another friend whose got an Oceanview will REALLY make out..Congrats on your "Paradise" cruise it sounds like you had some fun. I may have to walk up to woman in the disco and ask if their name is??? and see if I to can get invited to join them.;) Not Bad:) :) While I still have you here How big of bungee cords do you need for those balcony doors? What do you think the odds are that I could pack them in my airline carry-on bag?? Probably not good. Once more as always thanks for your time and stay out of jail.

  4. It is nice to see that V-17 does make the top of your list. I'll try not to overthink this anymore. It can be tough not to though when Carnival is still offering best OV up-grade for $699.00(Empress Deck) for past guests. That's two of those rooms for what I am putting out for this Cat 11. But I want that top of ship view and YES "That little Balcony" Thanks once more for your time.:)

  5. So I had V-9 originally booked..Follow me now.. After getting good advice from this thread about "Size Concerns about the Balcony" of the Cat 11 I went with the Cat 12 penthouse.. Still following me.. After talking with friends and more thought I decided that I would do some chair adjusting if need be on that small Balcony to not loose that AWESOME VIEW from atop of the ship that CJW refers to. So the day I change back to Category 11 the rest of the Category 12's Sell Out!! My question is that there are now SEVERAL Cat 11 Cabins open(For now) I am in V-17 and that looks to be a good distance from the front observation deck(even better then V-9) Any noise concerns from the Weight room above this cabin?? Also I have seen an outside distance pictures of this cabin on "Webshots" and at least in these pictures it looks like there is "White Rigging" equipment (Holding no boats) in front of most of the odd # cabins on both sides. Anything to be concerned about? As I said there are ALOT of choices in this Category at the moment so any advice is good advice. Thanks and stay out of Jail.;)

  6. I upgraded to a Cat 12 a day or two ago. I had seen prior to that your Cat 12 thread with pics.(Nice) It turns out that the price difference was only $200.00 more(Just 1 person )And it does seem to me that you get alot more cabin for the $. The real good news is that RCI "Navigator of the Seas" has the same dates and itinerary of the "INSPIATION" (Post Complete Refurbishment)For my February cruise and their NON Refurbished "Jr Suite" is 50 sq ft smaller then my Cat 12 and $600.00 MORE!! !Ha! HA! LONG LIVE THE "FANTASY CLASS" Thanks once more..

  7. There were 5 Cat 12's left for this cruise and after hearing "Tennislover" Tell me that at 5'6 they had to struggle to get comfortable, There are now only 4 Cat 12's left!:) It would be a disappointment to spend that much $ on a cruise (for myself) and not be comfortable on my FIRST Balcony cabin. Anyone have good experiences from the Cat 12"s Middle Starboard side cabins? Thanks once more and I'll check back.:)

  8. I am booked in Feb,2008 on the Inspiration Cabin V-9. This will be the Inspirations Fifth month in service since Her full "EVOLUTIONS OF FUN" Refubishment.(Sept,2007) This is a "Boys" trip and I will have this cabin to myself(Hopefully not the whole trip;) ) as will my buddy's with there oceanviews. Question #1 Is this a decent location? I booked it months ago and now there are NO CAT 11's Left. (All sold out) Question #2 I understand the Balcony is a bit tight but in your opinion with a little chair maneuvering can a 6'1 290lbs "JAILERMAN" sit comfortable on this Balcony??? My only other option is to take an even deeper hit($) and grab one of the last Cat 12's that are still available. I know the Cat 11 room would be just fine size wise but the Balcony has me a bit concerned. Thanks for your time and opinions. have a great day.
