  1. You have to give credit to Celebrity for a great marketing plan. People love the word Aqua class makes them feel special. They pay more but the food is only ok. But there in Aqua class. Just like the drink package. How many times have I heard I got the free drink package. They pay more but Celebrity markets it a free perk. You have to give Celebrity credit they do a great job at marketing and customers just want to feel there important and Celebrity make them feel important but gets more of there money

  2. Celebrity and Princess are both mass market cruise lines. Ive had good times on both. They are more alike then different. Im sure you will get a lot of opinions on which one is better. Food is totally subjected. To be honest Celebrity specialty restaurents are very pricy but for the most part are excellent. The MDR on both lines are okay, but you will get a lot of opinions to which one is better. Good luck on your choice.

  3. I have many a nice cruise on Celebrity. But NCL has changed for the better. The Breakaway is a fabulous ship. For years I would not sail NCL but I finally gave it a try on there two new ships and could not believe how much we enjoyed the Freestyle concept. but I admit we had the dining package and never ate in the free restaurents. Also the waterfront concept will be copied on many of the newer builds. I don't think any lines have copied the lawn. If you want something different give it a try.

  4. I agree private tours are so much better. But there are lots of people who believe there going to miss the ship and don't want to worry about that. Went with couple once who did nothing but the ships tours and we did nothing but private tours and we even met at some stops. I could not convinced them to go with us they paid more saw less and rode the big busses, they just believe the bs the cruise line puts out.

  5. Although it's subjective..NCL is known for having the worst food overall in all the mainlines(Specialty rest. notwithstanding)That being said NCL & any line will provide vegetarian substitues, but you NEED to advise them of that fact. Your TA should be the one to let the cruiseline know about your dietary restrictions. As to destinations I'd rather go to Turkey. There are a lot of problems in Greece with the austerity issues.

The food on NCL specialty restaurants was excellent on the Getaway and the Breakaway. Not sure about other ships. But Celebrity specialty restaurents were also very good but way overpriced.

  6. It's a no brainier as far as my opinion. NCL has the way better shows. Also if u get the ultimate dining package you can eat in a specialty restaurant every night for a fair price. celebrity specialty restaurants are way over priced. Also NCL has the comedy clubs anew howl at the moon piano shows. They also have the best casino program at sea.

  7. I was and elite on Celebrity and went on NCL for the first time last year. I'm hooked I really like the freestyle. And the entertainment and the best casino program on the seas. I'm sure will end up on Celebrity again but NCL new ships are great. Also we had the dinner package and ate in a different place every nite. Going on NCL escape as soon as we can.

  8. Short term vs. long term is irrelevant. Stupid play ALWAYS hurts the chances of the person playing stupidly, it NEVER hurts the chances of others at the table. It is as simple as that. 100% fact, 0% opinion.

Again I know your right but it still upsets me, and I know it should not but its hard to watch. I'm better off not playing.

  9. Curious if those who walk away if someone is not playing the "odds" also believe in the Tooth Fairy, magic eight balls, Miss Cleo and and unicorns? Those are all as "real" as your logic that a person not playing the odds hurts your chances of winning. It is hilarious that some think blackjack is a "team" sport. Unless card counting is involved, how "good" or "bad" others at the table play have ZERO impact on your odds of winning or losing. None whatsoever. What is so funny is playing the "odds" is based on rational/factual thinking; it is also rational/factual that other people's play have NO IMPACT on your chances of winning/losing - that is what is most perplexing about the misinformation, peculiar behavior and flawed thought processes of some on this thread.

I agree with everything you said. Over the long run it will make no difference as to you winning or losing. In the short run stupid play can hurt your chances. One of the reasons I don't play blackjack on a cruise ship is cause I'm not playing long enough to overcome stupid play. So I just avoid it rather then get upset. Also I rather play craps where I think I have a better chance of winning in the short run. I also set a limit on how much I'm going to win. If I succeed I'm gone. The longer you play the more chance to lose.

  10. Hi all,

At a recent Q&A session on the Celebrity Century, our CEO and President Lisa Lutoff-Perlo stated that our website is an extremely high priority, and that she will address the website issues that guests have been telling us about.

I'll try to keep everyone updated as soon as I learn more, but simply do want to let everyone know that yes, we are aware of these issues.

You have been saying that for the last two years.

  11. Is only NCL the only cruise line to eliminate lobster from the main dining room? Just curious, because if they stopped serving lobster to save money, why haven't all the other cruise lines followed suit?

Because they serve something they call lobster. It's better that NCL does not serve that crap the other lines serve. My last Celebrity cruise the lobster was about the size of my little finger and was not good at all.

  12. They must be doing something right, because the ship's are full. They seem to be very smart when it comes to yield management and dynamic pricing and promotions. It's more of a "get what you pay for" strategy, but then they give you money or perls to choose what you want to pay for. Seems smart to me.

According to my travel agent there ships are not all full. They have been lowering prices like all the cruise lines do to get to about 80 percent capacity.

  13. This isn't an all or nothing question.....many of us cruise multiple times a year. In the past two/three years we have been cruising exclusively on Celebrity in aqua cabins. With all the changes over that period of time (almost all negative), few new itineraries and a generally unchanging menu in Blu, we now have booked cruises on other cruise lines but we've still booked one B2B on Celebrity in 2016 and 2017. Sorry Celebrity, no cruises booked with you in 2015.

So the the changes, or lack of changes have cost celebrity three aqua cabin cruise bookings this year and probably the same in the next two years. Of course, we can be won back...once the seeming "blinders on" focus on suite passengers abates and perhaps with some changes to menus and new itineraries.

It hasn't been any one thing...it's been the erosion of the experience to the point where we started to look around.

    I totally understand.

  14. After many cruise on Princess, celebrity and RCCL we finally tried Ncl. We wanted something different. We have been on there new ships Getaway and Breakaway out of New York ..we really enjoyed the freestyle concept and we had dining packages on both ships. It was nice eating in a different restaurent every night. Food was good. Entertainment was outstanding. Also they do have the best casino program at sea if that interests you. Also nothing wrong with the other cruise lines we always had a good time, outside of some food issues. But if you enjoy traditional cruising NCL may not be for you.
