  1. We are going to SE Asia in September. I have read that conservative with shoulders, elbows and knees covered for the myriad of places of worship that are "must sees" particularly in Vietnam.

I am collecting a wardrobe for on the ship (got that one covered from prior cruises) and sightseeing in port. For the later, I am doing gauzy skirts that come mid calf with tee shirts or tank/comisole type of shirts. I am looking for some sort of VERY lightweight shrug or structured shawl or such. I would love to find the shawl type of thing that could fit easily in a tote bag but I am not having a lot of luck ... they seem to be either really long or not wide enough to really cover shoulders and elbow.

Looking for suggestions .. anyone :)

  2. I went back and looked at the clothes again on the Lifetime 'Rate the Runway' thingie and changed my mind about Char -- too much volume top and bottom. One part needed to be more sleek. But I love her spirit and want to see her succeed.

And I must need to think differently about pants. All that talk about Amanda's pants fitting great and all I could see was that they were too long, which is the easiest fix of all. Are pants supposed to fit like that now?

I want to like Hernan -- those awesome eyes -- but looking at his portfolio, I think he's going to be too sexy for the judges.

I found a website -- Tom and Lorenzo Fabulous and Opinionated -- that had a great rundown of the show. And was lots of fun to read. Google it.

I love Tom and Lorenzo .. they are awesome and post about everything not just Runway... however their runway posts are always great.

Not sure that the pants should be that long, but it would be refreshing after finding all of the pants for the last 2 years coming to the ankles like the last day of first or second grade when you had grown out of your clothes but mom wasn't buying any more until next school year !

  3. Anyone willing to go out on a limb and pick a winner? I can see Char going all the way.

I think it takes a couple weeks for most of them to learn the way around the workroom and the personalities and the time management. I too like Char, but it is just too early to pick a winner .. maybe the week after next.

  4. Yes I must admit I didn't see that coming on the result.

This is the first time in awhile that we have no hometown favorite with viewing parties and lots going on ... so now I need to figure out who to root for, when the nerves settle down for them a bit.

  5. I have been wearing acrylics for over 30 years. A couple years ago when shellacs came out my hairdresser convinced me to take the acrylics off and try the shellac on my real nails. Surprisingly my real nails were really stron until they got the to a nice length to shape and then it was a no go. I hated the hassle and had the acrylics put back on. Now I have the acrylics and I still have her use the Opi version of shellac on them too, but that is because they stay shinny so long and they are dry in no time at all with the lamps.

I have a manicure (fill) every two weeks and a pedicure ever 4 weeks and I have the shellac on the toes too because you walk out of the shop as soon as she is done with dry nails.

It is a lot less hassle for me than to try and do it myself.

  6. Except for the first few they appear to be competitive but in looking at that list and then clicking on the individual listings, it seems that the prices vary from one to the other. For instance, the Donna Rico for 511.99 .. when you scroll down the actual listing it says it is for sale for 39.99 and that the MSRP was $139.00 so there are some obvious problems.

I would be sure that you and the seller agreed on the price and that it was reflected as such in an EBay listing before I purchased.

It is easy to communicate with sellers through ebay so that shouldn't be a problem.

  7. The e-cigarette policy has a bit of irony for us ..

When we smoked .. we had to go outside to smoke at home

I quit but Husband still uses e-cigarettes and I can't smell a thing and it is vapor instead of smoke so he is allowed to smoke inside .

Princess say if you want an e-cigarette you HAVE to go inside ..ah well .. I will be cruising and I won't care ..just seems ironic.

  8. When I think of "capri" pants I think of Mary Tyler Moore in the Dick Van Dyke show ... but that isn't what they are calling capri's now a day. I think the ones at the ankle are unflattering to almost everyone and I seldom see them around town and if I am going to have pants that long I want regular length pants. I finally broke down and bought a pair of just below the knee jeans which turned out to be mid calf (the most unflattering length of all be it dress or pants) but they actually look much cuter that I was expecting when I roll them up to the proper below the knee length!

  9. I just started using younique 3d fiber lash. I love it. I also did not use a coat of regular mascara underneath, just straight product.

Don't mind that I need an eyebrow wax

I completely agree ..this mascara is the bomb !! Also they have a wonderful range of lovely eye color too !

  10. Thanks Kathy' date='

Welcome back! Wondered where you had been for so long. Now we want to hear about your cruise and see what you have picked out to wear. Hope you are all doing well.[/quote']

Things are going pretty well .. I am dealing with osteoporosis so I am going to the gym 3 times a week and instead of losing weight I am gaining weight ... sigh. We just booked this cruise today and it is in 60 days so I am actually thinking I might use Rent the Runway and wear some spectacular dresses . We will see .. too new a booking to really know what I want .. also the first stop is Hong Kong which will have awesome things if I find nothing before the cruise .

Hi Judy .. thank you and nice to see you:D

  11. wow, what great reviews. I remember commenting on a woman's blouse and she said that she had purchased it at Whitehouse Black Market. I had never even hear of this company before. I will defiantly check it out.

Cozette ... I see you live in Oregon and of course I have no idea which area but WHBM has an outlet at the Woodburn Outlets and they always have wonderful prices and sales. WHBM is a Chico's affiliated store so they, like Chicos, have a mix of merchandise that is only for the outlets as well as merchandise that is from the WHBM stores.

They have great deals on wonderful clothes, at both the WHBM and the Outlets shops.

  12. I love Chicos too and I have 4 Chicos within about 5 miles and the Chico's outlet is only about 20 minutes away .. but I am having less luck with their pants these days. They shortened the inseams on even the regular pants and most of the pants are ankle length which I hate .. however their tops are as wonderful as always.

One of our Chico's has a Soma next door and they have the most fabulous lingerie and lounge wear .. lots of cute maxi dresses and sun dresses this year.

Time to go to the outlets I think!!

  13. Hi Ladies' date='

Hope everyone is having a Safe Memorial Day weekend. Just wanted to share a couple of pictures for our cruise last week.

It was a spur of the moment cruise, so I didn't have time to shop for anything new. Had to rummage throught the closet. We only took pictures two nights, so I only have a couple to share.

We had a wonderful time and ready to go again! :)[/quote']

Looking great as always ...Long time since I have been around but getting ready to do a new cruise and I thought I would spend some time here ...

    :)

  14. Does anybody know if Pandora stores have port specific charms? I'd prefer Pandora brand. I was in a Pandora store in Vegas that had the Vegas charms.

I haven't seen them in Ports (although I have seen the Pandora brand) but I did buy a charm in Seattle called Seattle which was lovely but nothing that related it to Seattle. I can't imagine they won't think of this eventually ... I too am on my second bracelet and I want them all to be travel related.

  15.

Now for shoes....ugh! I need arch supports and because of a foot problem, I can't wear heels over 1". I HATE it! No strappy sandals (I haven't found any already made with arch supports) :( I have 4 months to find shoes that will work, so wish me luck! :)

    Thanks for the help, ladies!

    ~ Shari

I have the same problem and I agree about the wedges .. if you have a DSW near you go and try on the brand "Italian Shoemakers" .. they make super cute shoes and they are really comfortable ... they even make some with rhinestones that are great for formal nights .. also J Renee has some great shoes with little heels that are much nicer than the skinny kitten heels (available lots of places) and lastly Clarke's Artisan line has some super comfy sandals with great arch support !
