  1. Thanks everyone!  I usually book guaranty and in over 30 years of cruising, I have never had a problem, but also never had the assignment as late as this. (We got our cabin assignment 2 months ago) We sail on Saturday. My sister doesn't get away much as she has a special needs daughter and I just want her to have a relaxing time away!  I guess she could always stow away with my husband and I !

  2. Has anyone ever had this happen to them or someone they knew? On Princess.  I thought I read somewhere that this happened to someone on another cruise line. I know you can get your cabin assigned as late as on boarding, but I am concerned for my sister who booked a B2B guarantee and got her cabin for 2nd week, but not first.  I wouldn't be concerned if I had not heard this happening on another cruise line recently!

  3. I am on the Sky Princess 14 day sailing Feb. 24, 2024 and the upgrade bidding minimums are really high!  I have bid the minimum for an upgrade from interior to balcony on two prior sailings and have been successful on both. Each of those times it was around $150pp, a great deal!!  I  never checked back to see if those minimums had gone down as the sailing got closer, so can 't answer my own question.  Maybe this particular sailing is really full and therefore they can up the minimum bids? BTW, the minimum bid is $515.00 right now.

  4. I thought I read somewhere that the people running the scanners before boarding the ship at Port Everglades are not Princess employees and don't really care   if you have some contraband in them, I.E. booze (Not talking about anything dangerous here...).  Anyone have experience with this?   I have so many of those little bottles of booze from my mini bar on previous cruises that I thought it would be nice to bring a couple along since our cruise is a bit longer this time.

Please don't lecture me about how this is wrong, just wondering if anyone had any experience with this!

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks, I tried that under Cruise personalizer, but it just says transfers are available and contac your TA.

I do not know the answer to your question personally as we've never sailed from Galveston...but you should be able to look under the "Travel" section in your Cruise Personalizer and see.  (Might not be visible if you are booked through a TA.)  Scroll down below the flights section.

  6. Does anyone have any idea how much the Princess shuttle is from port in Galveston to Hobby airport?  Also, approximately what time it would get to airport?  This will be our first time at Galveston port and from what I've read AFTER booking this cruise (from FLL - Galveston), it sounds like this port is a lot more difficult to get out of and to airport.   I have no idea what time I should book for our return flight!

Thanks in advance for any insight!

  7. After I drop my carry on bags in my stateroom on embarkation day, I would like to run to the Walgreens near Port Everglades to pick up a few things i didn't want to pack.  Am I allowed to leave the ship?  If anyone has done this recently, can you also tell me how to get back on without going through the embatkation lines if possible?  Thank Youz1

  8. I am trying to decide if we want to try the Chef's Table on our upcoming cruise on Enchanted Princess.  The description on the Princess website is pretty vague as far as the food served.  Do they just bring out whatever the chef wants or do you actually order from a special menu?  Also, is there a lot of talking by the chef?  I'm not really interested in hearing how things are prepared, I'm just interested in eating a delicious meal.

If anyone has first hand experience, I'd appreciate a brief description of what it was like.

    Thank you!

  9. We would love to go to Nevis for the day on Nov. 11, 2022, but don't want to do the Princess tour as it includes a 2 hour island tour.  We are just interested in Pinney's Beach.  Anyone ever done this and if so, how?   I tried to book through Viator, but they are full for that day.  The ferry seems to only go twice a day and that makes me nervous.
