Shows and entertainment last week on the Regal were:

A.J. Clarke on the piano in Crooners  -- very talented and fun to listen to

    Scott Wyler - Comedian

Bands in the Piazza were:  Excite and Orphea -- great for dancing

They had a rock n' roll dance party in the Piazza where they played oldies from the 50's and 60's - lots of passengers up on the floor doing old dances like The Twist, etc.

    Production Shows:

    Born to Dance

    Fiero

    Bravo

    Sweet Soul Music

Hope this is helpful -- Enjoy your cruise on the Regal -- she's beautiful. 😍 EBC

  2. I’m on this cruise to. I agree just get me on and I’m optimistic that the captain will steer us to clear skies. I’ll miss Roatan,Costa Maya and Cozumel my favorites on this cruise. Belize is a joke of a private island for NCL I just stay on the ship there. Anyway I’ll see everyone Sunday! Bring on the FUN

I agree with missing Roatan and Cozumel. Never been to Costa Maya, but was looking forward to it.

If I may ask, why is the private Island in Belize a joke? I have never been there either...

  3. A few years ago we cruised during a hurricane and were almost diverted; we were only notified of a change to alternate ports when we checked in at the port on embarkation day. As luck would have it though, 4 hours later, by the time of sail away, an announcement was made that we were going back to the original itinerary with only a slight time change b/c the storms path had changed again. Given that the path of these storms can change in minutes, I don't imagine the cruiselines make the call to change an itinerary until the last possible minute. Have a great cruise, wherever you end up going and be safe.

    Thank you!

  4. We are sailing on the Getaway this Sunday, Sept. 16th and I am assuming we will be going nowhere near the Western Caribbean as our original itinerary states with Isaac bearing down on it. (Costa Maya, Cozumel, Roatan and Belize. )

Does anyone have any experience as to when we might be notified of our alternate ports? It would be nice to have a little time to plan something ahead of time for the new ports!

I managed to get my flight through Charlotte on Sunday changed to Saturday through Chicago, so I am very happy about that!

Safe travels to everyone always, but especially in the next few days....

  5. Nope no snorkeling. It's a wide sandy bay for the most part.. He can take quite long walks down the beach, or plane watch or such.

Or maybe consider Pigeon Island - about 30-35 minutes north of port, but ruins, some snorkeking, hiking, etc he can do while you relax at the beach...

Thanks reedprincess! We have done Pigeon Island twice now and just want to try something new. I had thought that I read elsewhere that there was a bit of snorkeling along a rocky bank at Vigie, but it must have been another beach.

    Have a great day!

  6. I tried to search for this info, but couldn't find anything. Anyone know if there is any snorkeling at all at Vigie? I am happy to just walk the beach, splash around a bit and relax on a lounge chair, but my husband likes to be more active. I know there are places like Sugar Beach and Anse Chastanet if we just want to snorkel, but I really want to visit Vigie as we have never been and am just wondering if my husband will have any options for snorkeling there.

    Thank you!

  7. While there would not be a great deal of difference price-wise (other than the cost of the ferry) there could be quite a difference in the amount of time that one would be able to spend on the beach. The WI ferry is a small boat holding only 25 passengers. It originally carried residents to work, school, church, appointments, shopping etc. and tradesmen from St Thomas to WI. Since Honeymoon Beach became the destination of multiple ship sponsored excursions and individuals traveling independently, space on the ferry has become hard to find at peak hours. Since everyone has approximately the same "back-on-board" time the 3:15, 4:15, and 5:15 ferry runs to St. Thomas are frequently at capacity. The ferry does try to make accommodations with extra runs when necessary but each extra run delays a return by a half hour or more. If a maximum of beach time is the objective picking a beach such as Emerald (or one of the others where taxis are readily available) and visitors can come & go at will without wasting extra time on transportation might be a better choice especially since you already know and like Emerald.

Thank you very much for your insight! I think we will stick with Emerald Beach.:)

  8. We were supposed to be docking at Crown Bay and were going to go to Water Island since the ferry is right there and we have never been, but now are docking at Havensight. From Havensight, would there be any difference of time, expense, etc if going to Water Island vs. Emerald Beach? (Besides the extra expense of the Ferry to Water Island.) We have been to Emerald Beach one time and liked it very much.

    Any opinions?

  9. Don't miss Kory Simon in Crooners bar in the evenings, eat at Alfredo's at least once, and don't miss the special dinners in the buffet (German, Brazilian, etc). I actually liked the buffet food better than the mdr.

Do they advertise the special dinners in the buffet in the Patter or do you have to actually go to the venue and look at the board outside the dining area?

  10. We will be in St. Lucia on 3/17 aboard the Royal Princess. We do not want to do a tour as we have done several on past visits. We would like to go to Pigeon Island and heard you can get water taxi to get there. Is that true & if so, any idea how much it will cost? Also, where would we catch it?

  11. Can anyone with experience tell me if there is a water taxi from the cruise ship area to Pigeon Island and if so, the current price? I know we would have to pay a $7pp entrance fee to the park and rent chairs also, but am wondering if anyone has any recent experience with the water taxis. I was going to book a tour to take us there, but we don't really drink much and they all include drinks and are at least $40 pp so I wanted to see if this is something we could just do on our own.

    Thank you for any information!!
