  1. From the picture, there could be a lot of space on the deck under the track for us shade seekers.

I am with you. I will be on the Bliss May 10th and look forward to almost everything on the Bliss. Each person has reasons for not liking on thing or another but to say you would avoid a ship because of Go Cart track is a joke.

  2. This is the last year of the jewel going to Alaska. Next year it will be the sun, pearl, and bliss. Look for cheaper prices on the pearl. It also goes to glacier bay which is the best. The bliss isn't going there which is stupid and lame. I have been on 4 Alaska cruises they are pretty awesome :)

Bliss is much bigger and I think they want $$ holding more people per cruise. But they suffer on just how many places that ship can handle.

  3. Sailing on Reflection April 1.

If it's still possible to request the printed sticky luggage tags, when will I be able to do that?

I booked cruise on 11 Feb for 25 Mar. 12th completed booking and ordered Tags, Got them today in NC. That is fast.

  4. I greatly respect Queen's opinion but there are always differing ones, I can only show you what our Sept. 3rd 2014 cruise was like and a picture is worth a 1000 words...so much in fact that we booked the same cruise on Solstice this year...

Here are, in order posted...arriving Ketchikan (rainiest town in Alaska or so they say)...a twilight pic (loved the light at this time of evening)...and an inside passage (we had fog only one day out of 7, returning inside passage to Vancouver, all other days were sunny and warm)

Pictures look great. We will be on same cruise. I am ready for whatever but really would like good weather.

  5. What is wrong with choice? You dress up as much as you wish and I do the same. And why do you get the right to determine "standards"?

    What is everyone afraid of?

I am with you. You can still dress up and go to the props for pictures. I always thought the cruise lines loved formal night because they sell more photos. I am going to Alaska this year and really don't want to take a tux or suit and tie.

  6. While I do not mean to stir up controversy, NCL should make all of its ships non-smoking.... Just like airlines, passenger trains, bus lines and many cities have done in restaurants, parks, etc...... Even with designated areas, many passengers ignore the designations and smoke wherever they want, even near the kids pool on the BA which is plain wrong.

I see you have been a member of CC 4 months. If you want to have some fun go type in smoking in the search heading. This is one of the most hashed subjects from the past. Remember not every couple that sails together are non smokers. Some the DH smokes and DW does not and so on. Carnival had a ship that was smoke free. Ask them how that worked out. Every cruise was cut to the bone price wise to fill the ship. Every passenger has rights so try to remember that on your next cruise please. PS look for me in the Cigar bar 17 Oct on Getaway. Have a nice day.

  7. I usually always give a $20.00 bill when I first meet them. I ask them to please keep the ice coming. I don't expect much but I do expect them to keep the ice coming. If they do what I ask (keep the ice coming) they may get a extra bonus when I leave. If not, so be it. :p

I do the same thing. I give him or her 20.00 when I meet them and ask the same thing, I have always had over and above service after that. I give them 20. when I depart.

  8. I will be there at the end of January. Hope aerial spraying has effect.

Can't imagine any of us will be wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts in the Tropics

I agree about the clothing. I am not going around in long sleeve shirt and long pants. I will just be asking to get bit on neck or face....See you 26th at M & G.

  9. We've done NCL Hawaii three times now and always book at least a year out and just sit back and watch the prices increase. We've had them go up as much as $800 PP.

This cruise usually sells out and the only cabins left are few and far between and probably not the most popular location.

NCL is the only house in town doing this cruise so they can price according to supply and demand.

Plus there is no casino on board NCL as there is no gambling what so ever in Hawaii not even bingo or lottery tickets so NCL has to make up those revenues. somehow.

Another thing to take into account. If the minimum wage goes up so does the price. They hire American crew as it is American only cruise. (No I am not against more money for anyone before I get slammed)

  10. Now I am scared. We are leaving to sail Epic next week. That type

of listing makes me very worried.

I hope you have a great trip. Please make a post when you return. I am going end of Jan. Would be nice to keep up with how the ship is doing.

  11. I also heard NCL has solo cabins, I will also check that out!

I became a widower last year. Love to cruise. Kids said go for it. I did a lot of looking and I booked a Studio on Epic sailing next Jan. I like the fact that they ask who wants to dine together. I really would not like to wonder around the ship alone at meal time. It sure sounded nice. You should give it a look.

  12. I am a widow and not young (58) but sure feel like it! I love cruising but would rather be with SOME singles and most of my cruising buddies are married. I am checking out the NCL ship right now!

You need to look into Epic, Read the reviews on the Studio Cabins. I like the fact that they have a white board and you can sign up for dinners with other singles. I think that is what kept me from booking a cruise alone at first. I just would not feel right sitting at a table alone eating dinner. Give it a look. Carolina also.

  13. Yes, Andrew, it is good to hear about a solo cruise from another perspective. I was recently widowed in Nov. 2012. I surprised myself even thinking about going on a cruise by myself. Do's and don'ts keep popping into my head, so of course I can't make a decision. As much as I feel the need to get away, I can't get myself to go ahead with it. Madmarti:eek:

I was in the same boat. I lost my wife only 21 days after our last cruise in Aug. I loved cruising she not so much. She went to keep me Happy. My kids kept telling me to go for it and I took the plunge. I am going next Jan in a studio on Epic. The more I read the more excited I get. I think once you do it, you will want many more.
