  1. You know those days when you´ve been out and about in a new port, walking here, there and everywhere on hard pavements or even worse cobbbled pavements and you get back to the comfort of the ship, but your feet and ankles feel totally worn out. At home I´d soak my feet in lovely scented hot water and let the aches and pains go away, but what do you do onboard? Buy a cheapie plastic bowl to take on board or am I missing something seeing as our cabins have only ever had showers?

  2. snip..Karla and Juan were teaching the Tango in the Crow's Nest...

snip.... There we got an answer to a question that I have always had , " Where do Australians vacation " ? There were over 100 Aussies on our cruise. There were also many Germans , Japanese , and Russians . Of course mostly Americans and Canadians . Missing were the large number of that we had seen on our previous cruise to South America .

    snip..

We were really looking forward to Puerto Montt on Monday as it was a high point of ous previous trip to SA. I hopes of catching a clear photo of Osorno Volcano and a lunch at our favorite restaurant in South America. Next: Trouble on the horizon.

Thanks for posting, we are on this cruise in March so I have a few questions

    1. Tango classes..do you know how popular these were? On a similar princess cruise you could barely get on the dance floor, it was soooo crowded. Do you know if Tango classes are the norm on SA cruises or was this cruise a Dancing themed cruise?

    2. I think there might be a word missing... We found there were lots of South americans on our cruise, was this the same on yours?

    3. Please name your favourite restaurant and where is it in case we have time to try it?

Did you use any private tour operators at all, if so who do you recommend for which location and tours?

    Thanks

  3. What about using nails stickers (or even decals) either several small ones or the larger whole nail ones like this about half way down the page. I think these ones are from Essie, but it will give you the idea

I've got snowflake ones on my nails at the moment. A coat of Seche Vite protects them and make thes them last longer

You'll also find some on Amazon and Ebay

  5. Could it be Tim Tam's. We Aussies have a habit of biting off both ends of the Tim Tam, and then using the biscuit as a straw to suck up whatever fluid you fancy. Port sounds OK to me.:p

Tim Tams also come in different flavours and are very much like UK Penguin biscuits.

Sucking your drink that' a drink is called a Tim Tam slam I believe... Delish.

  6. We took a train into Perth, then used the free cat buses. We had an overnight in Fremantle, took the ship shuttle into town, had as bit of look round on our own before using one of the local tour buses.

Yes, there is! Thanks for letting me know it got turned off in an update! Right sidebar of posts and main page there is a "Subscribe by Email" form. :)

Just subscribed to your blog. All the other blogs I follow on Wordpress, give me a delivery frequency option, to which I tick immediate as opposed to weekly or daily, but yours doesn't have an option...is that correct or is there something else missing on the update? :-)

  8. WE have only visited KW once many years ago We visited a butterfly shop and as we entered the staff attached a complimentary large cut out blue butterfly to us. I have them to this day on one of the bedroom walls flying above a mirror, a contant reminder of KW. The other place I remember vividly is the Wyland gallery, so many pieces we'd never seen before.

  9. One of the advantages of a tour is the expertise of the guide. You learn a lot more about the area, people, history etc Also it gives you a chance to look round as you're being driven along. We find this preferable to driving out on our own where the driver is concentrating on the roads and traffic

  10. Yes we´ve done it, We booked on one cruise, but it was cancelled due to low clow and bad weather. "nd timwe was OK again booked thro the ship. Collected from ship in small avn driven to helipad, Safety film, weighed. I sat up with the pilot, in a clear bubble so you can seeinfront out the side and DOWN, everyone has a head set to they can communicate. It was fine for the first few minutes, but quite a shock when we went out over the sea. I kept telling myself it had cost a fortune so I´d better enjoy it!! The pilot was very informative and in the end I di enjoy it, but I think it will be my only time in a helicopter.

  11. We visited Port Arthur earlier this year and were very disappointed with it. We'd heard so much about it before so perhaps we were expecting too much. We come from one of the ports in UK where convicts were shipped to Aus & Tas, so we had a lot of background info. It is a large area to look round, withextensive grounds and a lot of ruins. One of the main disappointments was the Convict bit where you were given a card to follow YOUR convict & his sentence, my person´s information disappeared after about 2 stops & even searching the internet later didn´t help me find out what happened to him. The gift shop was also a let down as was the overcrowded and over

priced restaurant. We were just a small group of about 8 people with a guide
