We had an unexpected port change due to weather and took the train. The lines to buy tickets were busy and slow so keep that in mind. Our train coming back was late so give yourself a cushion just in case.

Travel agents are the way to go; all TA's get the same pricing with the cruise line and are going to be in your corner should you need help with any problems that arise. Find someone you're comfortable that doesn't charge you any additional to talk to and help you

I think that ShoreX are overpriced on all lines, it is a service that is provided for those that don't want to or can't tour on their own. Maybe the profit made on these excursions helps to keep costs down/quality up in other areas on the ships.

if you can, I would suggest that you change your plans and do at least one night pre and post cruise. first time we went, we did air through Princess, no pre or post stay. though we had ATN both ways, we were really disappointed with the onground air experience, and we weren't going to do the cruise again. Well, FP is so beautiful, we couldn't stay away, but this time we arranged our own air with pre and post stays. Wow! what a difference it made for us! We were able to board early, and there was no huge line at the airport( this was the worst part of leaving with so many Princess people). We will be going back in January 2007!
