  1. Be careful about hanging your items in the shower or using a steamer...that will shrink some fabrics. I hang my clothes up as soon as my luggage is delivered and that helps. Most RCI ships don't have a laundry room but other cruise lines do and they have irons.

I pack my hanging garments in dry cleaning bags and accordion fold them and place on top. Sry seldom do I have a wrinkle. Husband does the same with his tux and no wrinkles.

  2. We always pick mid ship near elevators and noise is never an issue. And the GS is amazing! Just stayed in one on Harmony and loved it!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We just had 6660 on the Oasis, loved the location and absolutely no noise. Had a football watching Party one night and our friend had the drink package, he loved the fact that he could run out to the Schooner bar during the commercials and get a drink!! LOL

  3. When booking the Nonrefundable deposit on board you do have 30 days to cancel or make changes for no fee.

If I book on board I always take my iPad with me showing the price as listed. If the NC price doesn’t match or less, I show them the price I see listed. They eventually find the correct price!! I hate to see how many people are over charged!!

  4. Auto gratuities is the default and one should not second guess whether they get better or worse service by pre-paying. Assuming they know who pre-paid or not, which I doubt they know, the other side of the coin is that they could give you better service because they know you are not one of those passengers who go off and remove gratuities on the last day.

So many passengers pre-pay anyway, including those who choose gratuities as one of the perks.

I always leave auto gratuities in place and then give them more in envelopes to those who have done an excellent job in providing the service. TIP FREELY! It is good for health.

Also, Gratuities are suppose to increase starting Jan 2nd by $1/pp per day. But if you pay before you board you wil be grandfathered into the old price. Call RCCL or your TA to prepay.

  5. Hi all

DW and I have been invited on an RCL sailing with family. It's a Norwegian cruise out of Southampton. We have never sailed with RCL before but have sailed on RCL's sister line, Celebrity many times. As a result I have a few questions and would really appreciate your help with the following :-

We are Elite on Celebrity so it's my understanding that as long as we register with the C&A club we will have reciprocal benefits as a diamond member. Am I correct in thinking this allows free beverages loaded onto your seapass card or free drinks in the diamond lounge?

We're considering a junior suite. Other than the larger space, are there any other benefits to booking this room?

Is the deluxe beverage package comparable to Celebrity's 'premium drinks package'?

Can anyone point me in the direction of what is included in this package?

Is there one or more dining rooms for pax on Independence?

Any other hints and tips would be greatly received. Thanks in advance.

Once you register on C&A your Elite status on Celebrity will give you Diamond Status on RCL and all the Diamond benefits. 3 drinks will be loaded on your card to be used each day during Happy Hour time only—use them or lose them each day. Also access to the DL and free drinks during Happy Hour every day.

Besides the larger size of the JS the only benefit is you receive double cruise points. However, the walk in closet is fantastic—IMHO the JS is the best cabin on board!

There is one Main Dining Room, the Buffet, Sorrento's and Promenade Cafe that are all free and several pay specialty restaurants (special deals are available on your Cruise Planner on line).

Sorry, I can’t help you with the drink package but believe if purchased everyone over 21 in cabin must purchase. Check your Cruise Planner for what is included.

  6. We were on Liberty in July, not in a suite, but as D+ we were able to go in either lounge. Has it changed since then?

The SL on Liberty has been for Suites and Pinnacles only since April 2016. The card reader was finally installed and working July 1, 2017. However, for a few weeks, the D+ Cards were working in the reader and a few D+ we’re entering the Lounge unauthorized. There is a sign next to the card reader, showing a picture of a Gold Card, which states only cruisers with Gold Cards are allowed in the lounge. Sometimes the Concierge is too busy to notice those unauthorized to enter.

Guess you can say yes, something has changed since you were on the Liberty, the D+ Cards have been fixed so they no longer work in the SL Cardreader.

  7. How far in advance have you been able to get a response from Oasis concierges? Sent an email 2 weeks out for the 11/19 cruise and have not heard back yet, wondering if I should email again at the end of the week or if those concierges will get annoyed if I keep emailing . . .

Fredrico is going on vacation 11/12. We received our email from Concierge on the Oasis the Wednesday before our cruise.

  8. Just a quick note for Liberty cruisers. Jorge in the SL may just be the best concierge ever. And we've always had great concierges. He's getting married in December so will be gone a few months this winter. Consider yourselves lucky if you sail with him!

Totally agree with you - he was the Concierge when we made Pinnacle and was absolutely fantastic!! Happy to hear he is "finally" getting married, but oh no, we may miss him this winter!

  9. Just received my MLife Pearl card and was wondering how to take advantage of this when onboard Rhapsody next month. Do I need to bring my card or can I link my MLife account to my C&A account and just use my seapass? I am having a hard time getting through to RCI using the 800 number on the website.

Try contacting Club Royal at 888-561-2234 and they will link your accounts and notify the ship. Also can reach them at clubroyale@rccl.com.

  10. I have trip insurance for a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on Jan 7, 2018. Would I be able to cancel with that? Just not sure that I want to go to other islands.

I see you are from OK, so if you booked under the Refundable deposit then you can cancel and get all your money back anytime up to final payment. If booked under the new Nonrefundable Deposit program, it would cost you $100 for each person if you cancel or change ship or date before final payment.

  11. I made my reservation on 7-22-2017. It was such a good deal I didn't want to do much shopping around other than price checking for an few hours various other choices. Do I have 60 days to change?

Its too early to get flight reservations on the airline I want, I think I have the miles for a free airline ticket and I was going to do that through the RC link but now I think I will just use the airline direct.

I am a little worried about adding excursions next spring. My first cruise was Carnival and I had zero issues with their website.

I think it might be worth considering a sticky for known RC web issues.

    A-

You have 60 days from the time you booked to transfer to a TA as long as it isn't after final payment or if you have not paid your cruise in full. So, check out different TA's to get the best offer.
