  1. I think I am more excited to be visiting Vancouver than anywhere else in this upcoming trip! My father and all his ancestors were Canadian and he was baptized in Vancouver in 1910 so all through life I've wanted to visit.

My question of the day concerns Cafe Artigiano. I know there's one right near us (Marriott Pinnacle) at Pender and Thurlow, but does anyone know if they serve food as well as what I read is the greatest coffee in North America?

  2. Hi, Susan, I've seen your posts many times and always wondered what part of Lake County you were in. I've been past the Mission Inn many times but after 18 years in Orlando I finally escaped to the Gainesville area, which is gorgeous. I don't need to tell you what Orlando has become!

We do try to go to the Yalaha German Bakery for lunch in their patio/courtyard/lawn at least a few times each year.

Sorry we're not on the same cruise!

  3. I currently have reservations at the Best Western (Drake Street) for my husband, adult daughter, and I. I know I can get a better rate thru Priceline, but I'm concerned we may get a room with only one bed, which happens frequently in NYC when using Priceline. Does anyone know if most of the hotels coming up on Priceline have two beds in the room?

If I end up staying at the Best Western, is it a good area?

  4. Thanks, Barb, it's been GREAT and I feel like I know you! Can I please ask a few food questions? I've heard the room service breakfast has very few items available. Do you remember what they offered? Coffee, juice, baskets of pastry, or more than that? Also, were there things like granola and yogurt on the breakfast buffet? And are you allowed to bring food back to your cabin?

    THANKS! It's been great!:)

  5. Thanks very much for your great review. We're northbound on the Spirit on 5/27 and will be just below you in aft 5299. I was a little hesitant about an aft but your pictures made me feel better about it. It just seems strange to be looking straight out and not seeing land!

We've pretty much settled on the same camera you have. Again, your pictures made me feel better about it! Thanks a million for your efforts with this great report!

  7. I'm getting ready to book class 8A on Spirit northbound to Alaska in 2009. I know I'd prefer the starboard side, so how does the 4165 thru 4187 group of cabins on the Main Deck look? I assume they are all 185 square foot cabins with 40 square foot balconies, correct? I like the fact that they have cabins above and the atrium/photo galley below. It's my first cruise so I appreciate any and all advice!
