Any recommendations for Korean food?
-
I think I am more excited to be visiting Vancouver than anywhere else in this upcoming trip! My father and all his ancestors were Canadian and he was baptized in Vancouver in 1910 so all through life I've wanted to visit.
My question of the day concerns Cafe Artigiano. I know there's one right near us (Marriott Pinnacle) at Pender and Thurlow, but does anyone know if they serve food as well as what I read is the greatest coffee in North America?
-
My are currently booked at the Marriott Pinnacle for one night. But my son-in-law works for Marriott and we were offered a rate of $62 CDN at either the Pinnacle or Renaissance Waterfront across the street. Which is nicer? (For that price, why does it matter! 9LOL)

I want to rent a bike and ride the path in Stanley Park. I see there are a few bike rental places right outside the park. Any recommendations which is better?
-
By the way, how do the addresses work? In other words, do the numbers run low to high north to south or vice versa. Low to high east to west or vice versa?

Thanks for the great suggestions! The menus at Joe Fortes are great; Aqua Riva looks good too. Thanks for the coupon tips, too, but I never worry about coupons while on vacation!

Hi, Susan, I've seen your posts many times and always wondered what part of Lake County you were in. I've been past the Mission Inn many times but after 18 years in Orlando I finally escaped to the Gainesville area, which is gorgeous. I don't need to tell you what Orlando has become!
We do try to go to the Yalaha German Bakery for lunch in their patio/courtyard/lawn at least a few times each year.
Sorry we're not on the same cruise!

I'm trying to not ask too many restaurant questions because everyone has different tastes, but...we're at the Marriott Pinnacle for one night and love seafood and any type of Asian food. Suggestions? And the best street to stroll for great coffee shops?

Is there an ATM at the Amtrak Station so I can get about $100 worth of CDN $ when I arrive?
-
OK, I think I probably know the answer to this one, but I can now get a room at the Marriott Pinnacle for the same price as the Best Western Downtown. Should I switch to the Marriott?
-
Expedia has the same Best Western on their site for $112 plus tax (I'm at $185) but they specify two people. At the very worst I'm sure I could pay extra for a rollaway so maybe I'll take the chance. I wanted to be closer to Robson but is the Drake Street neighborhood good for walking around also?
-
Thanks, Judy. Maybe I'll just start checking to see if I can get a better rate at the Best Western on one of the other booking sites. It looks like a good place and your review reassured me.
-
I currently have reservations at the Best Western (Drake Street) for my husband, adult daughter, and I. I know I can get a better rate thru Priceline, but I'm concerned we may get a room with only one bed, which happens frequently in NYC when using Priceline. Does anyone know if most of the hotels coming up on Priceline have two beds in the room?
If I end up staying at the Best Western, is it a good area?

Along with ANY Carl Hiaasen book, I love Randy Wayne White and James W. Hall. All set at least partly in Florida, all mysteries of a sort, all good! And for a good laugh, you can also check out Laurence Shames!

I'll be using Marriott Rewards points for my one night in Vancouver. Which one is nicest? Restaurants within walking distance? Anything else I should consider?

Thanks, Barb, it's been GREAT and I feel like I know you! Can I please ask a few food questions? I've heard the room service breakfast has very few items available. Do you remember what they offered? Coffee, juice, baskets of pastry, or more than that? Also, were there things like granola and yogurt on the breakfast buffet? And are you allowed to bring food back to your cabin?
THANKS! It's been great!:)

Thanks very much for your great review. We're northbound on the Spirit on 5/27 and will be just below you in aft 5299. I was a little hesitant about an aft but your pictures made me feel better about it. It just seems strange to be looking straight out and not seeing land!
We've pretty much settled on the same camera you have. Again, your pictures made me feel better about it! Thanks a million for your efforts with this great report!

I'm getting ready to book class 8A on Spirit northbound to Alaska in 2009. I know I'd prefer the starboard side, so how does the 4165 thru 4187 group of cabins on the Main Deck look? I assume they are all 185 square foot cabins with 40 square foot balconies, correct? I like the fact that they have cabins above and the atrium/photo galley below. It's my first cruise so I appreciate any and all advice!

Now, for other meals - considering Cardero's and Joe Fortes. Husband and I want seafood and daughter doesn't.
