  1. Hi Everyone! My husband and I were on the Escape to Bermuda September 1st sailing. As with any cruise that we go on, I always make a video. Please give this video a thumbs up on YT if you enjoyed watching it. The more likes it gets the more YT will suggest it to others which in turn helps my channel grow. I appreciate your support and hope that you enjoy our cruise video!

We're new to NCL and booked on Escape on 9/1 outta NYC.    Just this past weekend, we went to make our reservations for the 3 specialty dining nights we have as part of our package, but found that some of them are either not accepting reservations .. or have only tables for 4 or 6 as options (we are a party of 2)  .. or have only 9:30pm left.

I didn't realize we'd have needed to book these farther in advance .. lesson learned.

Are the chances of calling/checking with these restaurants on "day of" pretty decent in your experience?    Just curious because we'd hate to miss out on something we chose as a package option.

    Any advice?    Much appreciated!

Hi There! My husband and I are on the 9/1 sailing as well and have done exactly as others on this thread have suggested.

Just make sure you have yours fixed asap once you board. The specialty restaurants fill up fast. See you onboard! :)

  5. As others have said, yes you need to "block out" your account number.

Once approved, the OBC will show up on your vacation summary when you log in to your NCL account.  In my past experiences the process would take a couple of days. But when I applied a few weeks ago, it actually took a good 7 to 10 days before I heard back.

I noticed there was only one suite left so called Norwegian (a nightmare to get through and then took 2 hours once I got through) but booked the last suite and went from a B3 balcony room to a SC 2-bedroom family suite for an additional $2,000.  That is less than I bid through the bidding process and it is a for sure!  Super happy I took the advice I read on this site vs. just pressing my luck.  Thank you.

    Congrats! :)

So basically you just called and made them a verbal offer? Did you have to haggle back and forth with a price?

    Was the $2000 per person?

Thanks for any additional info as I didn't realize this was even an option.

Just received this....anyone want to offer opinions as to how an airline that tried to put a poorly operating plane On the runway on one day, and tries to pull off the trick of telling us our flights THE NEXT DAY MAY BE DELAYED?

FAA desperately needs to hold the airline industry’s feet to the fire in ALL PHASES of their operations.....

Disabled Aircraft at Newark Liberty International Airport

We are experiencing significant delays today, June 29, at Newark Liberty International Airport because of a disabled aircraft that was on the runway earlier this morning. We’re working hard right now to recover and resume regular operations, and hopefully this will not impact our flights tomorrow, June 30.

Just hit Bermuda about an hour ago.  Weather’s been great.

Did the behind the scenes tour yesterday.

    A few facts mentioned.....

-the Escape goes through 7,000 dozen eggs/week

-produce is loaded in NYC for cruises starting there.  But, it’s also supplemented with fresh produce at each port

-all meats are kept at a constant temp of -20F until the day of cooking

-the show Choir of Man is the most popular out of all the NCL shows on all the ships.  As such, NCL is going to expand it to other ships

-all shows sign in for a 5 year run.  The only exception is Rock of Ages, which was renewed for an additional 5 years (total of 10) because until Choir of Man, it was NCL’s most popular show

-the average life cycle of bedding and towels is 2 months.  Unless, it was used in the sick bay or taken from a cabin with ill passengers.  In that case, they’re destroyed immediately!

Which day and time was the behind the scenes tour?

How did you know when and where to sign up for it?

We are platinum plus and have never paid any attention to when this tour is offered but would love to do it on our upcoming cruise.

We are 64 days out and this is the first time I have not received the email or offer to upgrade.  We are platinum, just for reference.  I was given this information:

    Key offer details:
    1. Norwegian (not VTG) determines which bookings are eligible for an upgrade offer.
    2. On select sailings customers are given the opportunity to bid for an upgrade against other customers on the same voyage. Eligible customers will receive an email from VTG outlining the details.
    3. These auctions are typically offered around 30 days prior to sailing, and upgrades are confirmed a few days before departure.
    4. Customers provide their credit card number online at the time of the bid. If they submit the winning bid their card is automatically charged and the upgrade is confirmed immediately.

We did book an M6 in an excellent location, so not feeling the urgency to upgrade.  I have never upgraded to Haven, but have cruised in the Haven. Last year we fell in love with Windstar and spent a lot of time on them.  I would rather pay more for that kind of experience as opposed to obsessing over suites on the larger ships.  As one lady said to me....(she was in an inside cabin, which I won't do) We all arrive at the same time....

We are Platinum Plus and my TA does participate. We have received the bid to offer every time with the exception of once which was on our Jade cruise last March 2018. Of all the opportunities we've had to bid we've only been accepted once.

As if it couldn’t get worse, we were delayed on the tarmac after landing because there were no gate personnel.  They just informed us to stay put as law enforcement is coming on the plane....😬

Bon Voyage! Time to relax and enjoy…everything else before sail away doesn't matter now. :)
