  1. It's the same for me here. Our last cruise was on Anthem with a group of 8 families. I was the go-to guy for most of the cruise planner questions and reservations. Thanks to CC and our roll call, I was able to let the others know when it was time to book shows and activities. I had a FB event that I used to communicate the information to the other families. It all turned out fine and we had a great time. Only one big hiccup that happened and it was to our families cruise planner bookings and reservations got all mixed up 6 weeks prior because of and RCI IT glitch (Like that never happens right?) I'm just glad it happened to us and not one of the other families.

My wife is a school principle so I end up having more time on my hands to do all this stuff, plus I'm just an ity bity little OCD speechless-smiley-039.gif

My relaxing officially started when we got on the motor coach for the 15hr drive to get to the port. Once we had our luggage in the cargo hold, hoped up on the bus and from then on, it was out of my hands. 2 of the 8 families chose to fly instead, and both had one suitcase go missing:mad:

I used to plan groups, that got old so now it's only the two of us. In fact we don't even tell people we are going anymore if we can help it!

  2. If that is the schedule for the bus, I would take it the day before and stay over for the night.

There is no way in hell that I would trust that.

I see that you are in Quakertown. Why wouldn't you just drive and park in the garage????

Well, it's $2O a day ($240 for 12 Nights) to park, $213 total for hotel, parking and shuttle both ways. So even with gas and tolls it's cheaper

  3. I called royal recently to inquire about my platinum discount for a balcony (on a cruise I already booked) and was told that my C&A discount could not be used with my non-refundae deposit discount. I was a little miffed at that.

Now if my C&A discount was greater than the non-refundable discount I could use it instead and have a refundable deposit but big woop.

  4. How strict is RCCL with the check in 90 minutes prior to sailing thing? We want to take the bus to Bayonne for our January 7 Anthem sailing but the schedule says we arrive at 1:15pm and we sail at 3pm. With getting luggage off the bus and getting into the line to check in we could be a bit late. The bus is specifically going to the Bayonne and Manhattan piers so I would think it would be schedule to work with the cruise lines schedules but I would hate to be late! My other thought is a hotel the day before, any thoughts or suggestions?

  5. I think we should just tip after every meal....That way, if the service was lousy, then we don't tip much, but if the service is exceptional, then we can over tip!!!

    DROP MIC!!!

    BOOM!!!

    SOLUTION SOLVED!!!

    EVERYONE IS HAPPY NOW!!!!

The last thing I want to think about is leaving a tip on the table after every meal, and that wouldn't take care of the people behind the scenes that may deserve a nice tip. Pre-pay is the best way! Now pick your mic up [emoji4]

  6. We lived in Alaska for a number of years and mountains definitely do impact satellite connectivity. We have gone on two Alaska cruises, and both cruises the ship had no or extremely poor wifi while in Skagway, and both times we were given an on board credit and told the mountains blocked the satellite signal they used for WiFi. The mountains and Alaska's location also prevent Sirius and satellite TV from working throughout the state.

In short geography and location definitely impacts satellite performance, and since Royal wifi is satellite based, it will be impacted at certain ports

Not correct. The WiFi is not the satellite connection, it is the system throughout the ship that devices can connect to. The ship then connects via the satellite s to get to the internet. You will have WiFi on the ship even if there is no satellite connection. I am a computer and network tech so am quite familiar with this.

  7. I think that there is some misunderstanding of the wording.

RC is not LOSING money by people sharing. They are losing a piece of their profit. And they don't want to minimize their profits; they want to maximize them.

Lost profit is lost money. I've had my own business for years, if I lose $1 of my profit, I've lost $1 that could have been in my pocket. It's not rocket science to understand that. I didn't get an answer to my question I posted to customer service, but I'm going to ask my TA to inquire with her contact.
