My wife and I are on the Azamara Journey Feb 8th sailing out of Cape Town. I have confirmations from both my TA and from AZ directly for U.S. passport holders, visas on arrival are NOT required at embarkation. Azamara will issue visas for Mozambique once on board (for a fee). So with proper passport and vaccination documentation, boarding in Cape Town should be smooth. I'm not familiar w/ the particular NCL itinerary you reference, but with respect to U.S. citizens and Mozambique, you will have no problem embarking Cape Town.
thank you so much.

I am trying to understand the benefits we get being Elite on Celebrity ( being diamond + on RCI )
I read that : Complimentary Captain’s Club Daily Elite cocktail hour ( fixed hour that you can have a drink ? )
does that mean that we do not have voucher loaded on our account so we can use those drinks in other bars / restaurants and also during the day?
I am sorry but it is not clear to me.
thanks for helping me out

I have stayed on deck 1 on Sunshine but not Freedom. My room on deck 1 on Sunshine was far aft, actually one of the last rooms on the floor.
ah ok, yes far aft gives you indeed more virbration as in the middle, did you have crew noise ?
-
Ok that does not sound good, I really hope someone who actually stayed on deck one can tell me more
Thank you

Just now, mz-s said:
You might hear a little bit of the crew beneath you, and during docking you might hear the thrusters and ropes. But generally deck 1 is a good floor in my opinion.
TY, there will be not much of a docking as it is a TA cruise. the crew ...... hope this is not a problem

You should book it up front. Letter from RC said same day shuttles may be booked but subject to availability.
I have tried to call RC but they have no idea from any shuttle service from the train station, only from and to the airport of Venice.
Is'nt there anyone who has been in Ravenna and knows if and where we can take the shuttle bus to / from the Ravenna train station ?

visiting Maputo NCL cruise next year. I checked tripadvisor and CC I googled it but I cannot find any clear information about
the visa for NCL cruises. I did contact NCL ( chat ) and they gave me a very vage information, they just directed me to their webpage
about visa required and travel documents.
Now i wonder if we have not bought this visa before leaving on this cruise will we be denied boarding in Capetown ? ( this cruise is going to Dubai and we are b2b to Athens ) According this online chat it is possible we will be denied altough we might not leave the ship in Maputo, but that seem to be a bit radical to me.
Is there anyone who can clarify for me if we need to buy a visa or not before the cruise for Maputo ( altough we might not leave the ship )
there is a cruise critic group for this cruise and several people wonder what to do.
thank you, wishing you all a great day

Let's hope I get Merrie on my next call to RC!
Ask for her, you can always try.

I would like the opportunity to thank “Merrie” from Royal Caribbean / Club Royale for her services her hard work, for her time listening to me, for her phone calls and for solving our problems and issues, problems which existed for such a long time.
We are Frieda and Erwin from Belgium and we work with an independent TA from Florida for many years to book our cruises. During corona mid 2020 our TA left the company and all my files, bookings, outstanding FCC, lift /shift and many more which was going on were given to someone else without explaining it to him. He tried to track down every booking, he had tons of phone calls with RCI/Club Royale, he did send so many emails but he was unable to get this sorted out.
I stepped in because a cruise was going to be cancelled in case we did not pay an outstanding amount and my files showed a full payment on this cruise.
Last week I received a phone call from Merrie, she promised to solve all of our issues and that no cruise was going to be cancelled.
Yesterday was a great day because everything and believe me, it really was a lot to deal with, everything got solved, every booking we had was checked every FCC was cleared, every OBC was confirmed and up till this minute I still cannot believe that what was going on for such a very long time she checked corrected and solved in only one week !
Merrie, it is because of people like you that a company as RCI / Celebrity has that great reputation of delivering the best services to their customers.
It is because of people like you who are devoted to their job that people like me choose for RCI for their next vacation.
I wished I could do something in return, I wished I could send you flowers or Belgian Chocolate but as a loyal and trustworthy person you said it was not permitted to give your coordinates to me so there is only one way to show my gratitude and that is through this letter. This letter I will send to every email address I find to every possible social media I can reach out, and I do hope that this letter will be delivered to you and whoever is in charge of your department as they need to know what a great co-worker you are.
Thank you Merrie, amazing customer service is what you have given me, and I will never forget what you have done for us.

See posts #14 and #20 for info on the RCI shuttle between the train station and the port at Ravenna.
Saw this post, thank you. Where can I sign up for the shuttle? ( train station to the port ? ) we fly and stay in Bologna and take the train to Ravenna.

any transportation/shuttle from the Ravenna train station to the port and visa versa ?

There has previously been a free cruise shuttle that departs from near Ravenna station provided by the Port that was stopped during Covid. It has been discussed in the Royal Caribbean board that Royal have very recently been providing its own station-port shuttle for $10 each way if I recall correctly.
we will be at Ravenna station in september can anyone confirm there will be a shuttle from Royal that brings us to the port and do I have to book it up front ?
there is no information on the website ( or I must have missed it )
thank you

I'm doing a similar journey - I'm on the Apex but will be at Ashdod on the Monday and Tuesday. I'm also "biting the bullet" and think I'll get a taxi from the port to the main bus station and then catch a bus to Jersualem. It doesn't look too bad 1hr 10. The way I look at it is that it's about the same amount of hassle as getting into Rome on your own from Civitavecchia.
We're going to do it on the first day of our overnight, so there is no stress with getting back on time. In fact I'm also looking at whether to get another bus from the station to the Dead Sea 😉
Like you I've been to Israel on a DIY trip a few years back so feel confident that we can handle this.
Hi there, that means we are overlapping one day ...?
So our journey will be on Tuesday yours on Monday.
Similar as Rome/Civitavecchia without the luggage 😅and this is a bus, we love trains, busses,mmmmm.. not that much.
A pity it is not the same day we could share taxis to and from Jerusalem.
Time will be too short although those are 2 days we will not stay overnight in the city.
Wishing you an amazing trip.

I'm surprised that your new TA isn't assisting you much more. You pull up the booking and you rearrange things as needed; end of story. I had an issues recently which was not being resolved correctly and my TA said, and I quote, "I love a good fight". We finally got what was entitled to me. I'd be hounding the TA to get things done. Go there in person if you can. I anxiously await your results and findings. 🤞
oh I wished i could go in person but me living in Belgium and my TA being from Florida ....😄

Being in Asdod at this moment
No need to take that expensive taxi to Jerusalem
The port shuttle puts you in front of the bus station a bus ticket is inexpensive ( it is,a 24 h pass)it takes around 1 15 h to reach the train station in Jerusalem from there the metro (same bus ticket) brings you everywhere.
Enjoy!
