HI,

doing the TA next month ending in FLL, we are staying 2 days in Miami before heading back home ( Belgium )

Hesitating between taking a shuttle from port of FLL to our hotel in Miami ( QLS price for the ride is 30 us )

or taking the everglades airboat ride offered by RCi

we have been to the everglades and did the airboat ride but it seems wonderful doing it again and we need a ride to Miami

so I wonder if this tour is any good ( price 65 us / pp )

Yeah, sounds like a charter which will mean there is no way of doing it independently, which will mean, unfortunately, more cost.

You'll have to decide if you want to do this and the Flam or just the Flam and have a look around Kristiansand itself.

Thanks it is clear now we have booked the Flam train ride and will walk on our own in Kristiansand

can't seem to find any answers so I hope you can help me out, we will be visiting Kristiansand for a day ( cruise ship ) and I noticed it is a lovely place to walk around we love to explore and hike on our own

someone told me to get the steam train Grovane-Royknes that would be a beautiful train ride.

( we have already booked a train ride in Flam ) I see the cruise agent offers this train ride but I wonder if we can book it ourselves. I found their website Setesdalsbanen but cannot figure out if we can book it on our own

Any idea ? and is it really worth doing this ? or would it be similar as the one we booked in Flam

( there is a lot to see in Kristiansand for a day )

Yes we are ftom Belgium speak normally Flemish we write "sigaret" iso "cigarette" and the young girl throwing it over board was from Holland so a Dutch girl (Flemish and Dutch is not the same)

Unless I missed something, you should still be able to get twice a day service in your cabin. It is supposed to be an option, not just once a day. If your cabin steward refuses to do twice a day, you can call the housekeeping supervisor to complain and request twice a day.

On the first day housekeeping knocked on every door to make notes what people wanted morning or evening cleaning. We choose the morning and had a towel animal ,which was a little weard,after breakfast. the cruise compass was slibbed under the door (as in the mailbox it sometimes disapeared)

Again : we did not mind

Did never want to start a discussion or argue about tolerance but I only wanted to know what we did wrong booking this cruise and I know now Never book again during Spring Break (which we do'nt have in our country) We have sailed with Royal Caribbean and NCL Our most fun cruise was on the Vista TA with Mat as our CD second best CD was Eric here on the Glory so the fun teams of Carnival beats the other cruise lines( our personal opinion) but I need my sleep and want a dry chair when I eat and yes I do care about the ocean this is 2o17 how stupid can you be. We had youngsters at the TA cruise who were a little "over" excited... we did not mind I can get over excited. to sometimes ...I heard about a young man who fell over his balcony (he died instantly)he was intoxicated.... what a pity for him and his family so yes what is happening when people forget basic commen sence.

that is so true, and no ! a towel sometimes cannot cover up what needs to be cover up :eek:

we've chosen Glory for our family cruise in June. Hoping it will be fun without too much of the "lack of class" that can accompany a cruise. We look forward to showing the kids their first cruise ship experience. It's one of the reasons we chose Glory.

Hoping we don't run into too much bad behavior, but we've seen it before. Doesn't ruin the trip, but it definitely makes us shake our collective heads.

the Glory is wonderful, she felt brand new and although not comparable with the somewhat upper classy ship as the Vista, she is a warm and clean beauty and there is enough going on for your family and the kids to have a great time.

We wish you a lovely cruise

footnote : we loved the ship, no technical problems at all !

Lastly, on any of the serious issues, did you notify security or customer service? We have had to call a couple of times for various issues and always had a great response.

that was the problem there was no security around, no one at the pool and one guy in the casino ( he had his hands full believe me )

we never thought off complaining with guest relations, what could they have done ?

I guess there was a lack of staff as our stateroom attendant said "less people have to do more job" and I guess that was the case everywhere, on stage we saw 6 very talented people performing all shows which was incredible as they did all dancing and singing night after night

on the TA the shows were performed with 18 people

I guess that they did not have enough people to do the job properly and I am not sure why almost everyone had to behave that rude

We have cruised before with youngsters and never had any problems

Nor do I think the "host" should be the people police..

we haven't say one word except for the very stupid girl who threw her sigaret overboard

..... I wonder what would have happened if she created a fire

@Cari : after this cruise we cruised the Freedom of the seas TA to Barcelona We had a balcony and never ever heard one of our neighbours. occasionally a door was slammed but people tried to avoid noise even when we had no reason to get up early due to a relaxing sea dey.

I do not want to create a discussion : what is allowed or what is not allowed I only wanted to know what went wrong and if we need to avoid certain ships, certain time, certain itineraries ....

on our first day our stateroom attendant came along and asked if we needed our room to be cleaned in the morning or evening He explained that due to a new Carnival policy there were not enough people to take care of all the rooms to be checked and cleaned twice a day that is why all rooms were cleaned only once so in the morning or in the evening and as we are clean and "normal" people we didn't mind if our drapes were closed or not ( the towel animal was made in the morning which was a little strange in the beginning of the cruise ) but also this was something new we never have experienced

I wonder if this really is a new policy of carnival or has this something to do with the" spring break thing " ???

Its not against the rules to be in bikini or swim suits or swim shirts at Lido buffet. It is for MDR though.

spring break brings out the worse of people on the cruise/vacation/anywhere

After our TA Carnival Vista cruise last November, which was so wonderful we though we would sail Carnival for all our upcoming cruises but after what we have seen on this cruise, I don't think so.

Lido : During dinner we saw more than once people getting food in their wet bikini / swim shirts

staff stood there, looked and did not say anything.

Casino : I saw a lady playing a slot machine with her child ( aprox 3 years old ) playing with toys under her chair, security asked her to leave after some guests started to complain. she said "no" and kept on playing, she left when people started starring at her.

Swimming pool : I saw people smoking at places where it is not allowed to smoke and what upsets me the most was that a girl threw away her sigaret over board she stupidly said "what?" when I said she just killed a dolphin.

I saw a bartender giving 2 gin-tonic drinks to a young boy nearly 12/13 years old. this is for your mom or dad .... right .... he said ... even not waiting for an answer

I saw/heard so many things that upset me so much, people slamming doors, loud music on the balcony, stateroom war zones, Lido food waste which became disgusting

this holiday was no vacation anymore.

We tried to relax but in this case it was hard not to get upset.

we tried to figure out what was going wrong on this cruise, probably the lack of staff combined with the age of guests ( spring break ? ) anyhow the behavior of many guests was not acceptable and staff looked, saw it all but turned the other way.

Eric the CD and the entertainment team became a little light in all the darkness of this Exotic Eastern Caribbean cruise.

I do hope carnival reads this report as they really need to do something about their tolerance

Fun ? this was not funny anymore .....

We will think more than twice when we search for another cruise

Carnival what a shame after 8 cruises,

we probably say goodbye forever.

There are 2 DT Hotels in Amsterdam both are in a good spot near the terminal public transportation and in the middle of the centrum the one at the Wharf you need to.take the free ferry to get to central station from there it is not far to.the cruise terminal
