  1. I appreciate all the information.  I asked this question because my husband had two loves.  One was cruising, and the other was Hawaii.  His urn is an art piece of Hawaii, and I thought a small amount would be scattered at sea.  I do want to do this correctly, and hope there would be something said by the Captain or another officer.  Again, thank you.

The new capt.'s circle benefits have been unveiled. No more free internet mins for platinum & elite. I'm very disappointed! 😪

Farewell Princess.  I am Elite.  We have two cruises booked on Princess.  One is next month, and the other next year.  I will take my LAST cruise on Princess next month, and cancel the one next year.  Royal is a much better cruise line.

  3. It is true.  I just returned tonight from the Ovation.  The Windjammer is only open for breakfast and lunch.  Many of the tables are blocked.  You must sit at a table that says cleaned and sanitized, and there are not that many of them.  When arriving at the Windjammer you have to swipe your card, and when you leave, you must swipe your card.  They are limiting how many people are in there.  It was never closed to people when we arrived, but this ship holds 5000, and we only had 2250 on board.  I posted on the Sept 3rd page.  If you want any info, please look there.

  4. We have the RCCL Credit Card and transferred some points to become OBC.  We have cancelled that cruise, and would like to use the OBC on a different cruise that we booked instead.  Has anyone had experience with doing this?  We would appreciate any information.

    Thank you.

Who knows for sure, but they are claiming those cards are just reminders to get the second shot, not proof of vaccination.

We just received our first shots a few days ago.  When they handed us the cards, we were told that they can be used for transportation requirements.  She then had us fill them out.

This definitely would impact me. I'm really hoping a vaccine for kids is approved in the next month or two. I don't see a return to normal cruising (or school for that matter) until everyone who wants to protect themselves can do so with a vaccine. Then the masks can come off and things can return more towards normalcy. Carnival may just wait until vaccines are widely available to everyone and dodge the issue entirely. Those that want the vaccine will get it, those that don't, won't. I expect we'll see a liability protection umbrella once vaccines are plentiful. There will be no need to mandate at that point (individuals will be free to decide and also accept risks) and things will naturally work themselves out.

I'm hoping that a partially full ship is better than no ship.  That would at least be a start.

My husband and I are waiting our turns for vaccinations.  We just want to travel again.  I haven't been on a plane since last March.  We have chosen not to visit older relatives who live across the country until everyone is vaccinated.  Since vaccinations are something we will do anyway, we are fine if cruise ships and ports require them.
I have family members with young children and they understand that cruises this year might come with requirements that will not allow them to cruise. I also have family members who are choosing not to get the vaccine and I respect their decisions.  They understand it might temporarily limit their travel.

Anyway, I would prefer vaccine requirements this year to just testing people since testing by itself hasn't worked out so well.

I would prefer that cruise lines require the vaccine, and masks.  Like most people, I don't like wearing masks, but I respect other people and will do what is necessary to protect them and myself.  We had our first vaccine 2 days ago.  No reaction except a sore arm.

Thankfullt it's still CATS. We are indeed lucky sometimes

That is great to hear.  We were on the Oasis ta when Cats was introduced.  Unfortunately they weren't quite up to speed yet, but I still enjoyed it and would LOVE to see it again.  Thank you.

  9. We were on the transpacific cruise from Long Beach in October.  There was a lecturer who held 2 lectures on most days.  We are trying to remember his name.  His first name is Rich.  He also gave us an internet site to go to, but we need his last name.  Hopefully someone will remember it.  Thank you.
