The Tribe has spoken...
You are definitely welcomed back!
Thanks!

I used to be on this "Tribes" postings a couple years ago, but I stopped following many things on line for many reasons. Recently I followed Megan's live Celebration review and I recognized many names of folks. I have also followed various live reviews posted by Sid. Even though I don't make many postings, I would like to follow you guys again if you don't mind. I will have many posts to catch up on!

After reading your horrible experience, I had to share my opinion. I worked in education for 41 years as a high school English teacher, Dean and Administrator. I could see the changes as years passed. Most students had to make the honor roll unlike when I was a student even the highest class had students who did not achieve that status - much like kids trying out for Little League; everyone made the team and played regardless of ability. Real discipline and consequences disappeared. Reason - parental pressure, and schools and organizations obliged. Those teens you encountered are a product of the poor parenting or lack thereof. Even if the parents were shown a video of what their kids did, they would defend their actions - sad but true.

I am booked on the Carnival Spirit to go to Alaska in July 2024. On July 14th of 2023 there were 59 excursions available. Shortly after that there were 64 excursions. I know there will be more added-like the Tracy Arm Fjord excursion…, but today when I checked there were only 24 excursions available. I have checked the port schedules for our cruise and there will be many big ships in each port each day. I dont know if this is a website glitch, or an indication of the extreme competition there will be for tour operators. Is anybody else going to Alaska next year noticing the same decrease in excursion availability?
The same happened on some excursions on our Hawaii cruise in September 2024. I had several excursions in my cart that disappeared - a real mess. Carnival said it was a glitch and I need to wait for 72 hours.

Maybe it's just me, but when I was a kid my parents didn't cater to my tastes. I was offered whatever was being served and if I didn't eat, I went hungry.
As a kid I would have been ecstatic to be offered free roam at a buffet so I could choose exactly what I wanted. 😉
That was exactly the way I grew up. Back in the day, every Friday was fish - not a fan, but I learned to eat it. Never had chicken nuggets; only pizza at a pizza place and hamburgers at a holiday picnic. My Mom was a fantastic cook and I learned to love her beef and lamb stews, chicken and rice, stuffed cabbage and stuffed pepper, etc, etc,!

Maya Chan Beach is my favorite excursion. We have been there three times. Luckily we have never encountered that much seaweed. The seaweed is not just at Maya Chan, but throughout most of Costa Maya.

Following along and enjoying all the pictures and comments about the Mardi Gras. We will be on the Mardi Gras with the same itinerary, but not until next year.

But, print documents no longer works (at least for me). I only get a 2 page general information sheet. The booking summary and itinerary is not there anymore.
It is still that way for me as well for the five cruises I have booked between now through 2024. Two of them are through a TA and the other three through Carnival. Before now when I went to Print Documents it always showed my itineraries and my booking summaries. On one of the cruises, if I access Invoice details, it is all zeroes now - wasn't before.

Well, I made it through 791 pages! You guys do a lot of traveling - cruises and other trips. (Makes me jealous!) I am always amazed at the pictures of your many meals. I have no idea what many of them are and some I would never try! I guess I have lived a sheltered life.
My reading covered over two years - two years filled with humor, many happy times, but also some sad and trying times. Of course Covid was a biggy. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
During those two years, I did go on three cruises. In the end of 2021, I sailed on the Mardi Gras to the Western Caribbean. In June of 2022, I sailed the Miracle to Alaska, and this past May, the Celebration to the Southern Caribbean.
After enjoying all your experiences of the past two years, I think the Tribe should gather their travels and organize a book (Tribe Travels) with suggestions for excursions and tips for each of the various ports and restaurants - also the same for other travels, including pictures. The Tribe could also put together a cookbook with all your various recipes and drink concoctions!
Again, thanks for sharing all your experiences!
