  1. This is good information, thank you. We will be there in March and I have all the maps from the visitors bureau, but wasn’t sure if we could walk it all. I think we’ll take the trolley for at least one section of the old city. I’d like to leave time for a nice traditional lunch.

  2. A loyal Princess cruiser here, but I booked 2 June 2020 Med cruises.  I have a Princess Cruise already booked for that time, but I liked the HAL Itineraries also. I figured I couldn’t go wrong for 4$ 😉.  I’ve got a year to pick one or cancel them all until 2021.

I found the pricing to be competitive with my Princess Cruise for the same time.

  3. It’s late in the day, but HAL is running a one day sale with $1 deposits.  I just reserved 2 June 2020  12 day Med cruises.  Very nice Itineraries are being offered.  I have the Enchanted inaugural cruise booked,   but for 4$ Total I like having some options.  The price was comparable to the Princess Cruise.

  4. I have searched but I can’t find any reviews or detailed information about the Europe cruise tours.  I am considering a 6 day precruise land tour in Italy.  I am wondering if anyone can provide details on the kinds of hotels—are they in the city center or in the outer areas? Was there enough time to do your own sightseeing? How large was the group? Quality of the included meals? Quality of the included sightseeing?  The Princess tour is very tempting, 2 nights Venice, 2 nights Florence, and 2 nights  Rome before the 11 day Rome-Southampton inaugural on the Enchanted.   But it is pricey and I wonder if I am better off doing something like this on our own?   Any insight is much appreciated!!

Princess partially reintroduced the “wedding cake” balcony design on the Majestic and the Sky. The Dolphin deck Premium Deluxe Balcony cabins forward and aft have significantly larger balconies like the Caribe deck balconies on the Grand class ships. Those balconies are significantly larger than the mini suite balconies which may be only 4’ deep.

Does this extra large balcony apply to the cabins just forward of these premium deluxe balconies. I am looking at deck plan for D709-D701 which is a standard balcony cabin, with the cabin portion  smaller than d711 but balcony size similar?

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. This seemed to be so easy when cruising the carribean. Now to find a decent airfare. Has anyone used the Princess Web for airfare?

I too plan on traveling  in early June. Am doing my homework early this year as our panama canal cruise was rather  last minute and the we paid dearly for airfare.

I priced it a million different ways, and checked/compared prices every few days, and ended up best booking on our own.  You need to do your research and any flexibility helps.   Many people here on the boards say that Princess Air is very competitive in pricing.    I don't know your home airport, but I was able to get great pricing because we departed from Tampa and flew back into Orlando.  We are about half way between so I shop both airports.  Also, keep in mind that on a one way trip you are flying to different destinations.  We had US Air  outbound Tampa to Vancouver, then Sun Country  on the return from Anchorage to Orlando.

We traveled middle of June and except for not seeing bears like you would later in the season, had an awesome trip, and blessed with amazing weather over 12 days

(7 day northbound, and DIY land tour:  3 nights Denali,  1 night Aleyska Resort) .  School & high school football schedules limit us to June for trips more than a week.   DH talks about going back for extended stay in the RV frequently, its the first thing he is doing when he retires (i think he'll go with or without me 😉)

The Alaska board and the reviews are extremely helpful. I signed up on line with the Alaska tourism websites for the various areas, and got a lot of good info from them promptly in the mail.

  7. I was able to take advantage of the elite early booking window for Enchanted Princess June 18; but I can’t see the corresponding Cruisetour? (Venice/Florence/Rome pre- cruise).   Anyone have experience as to when the Cruisetour will open?  The preliminary info posted here the last few weeks puts it a little out of my budget but I did want to see the details and specific price.

  8. I have a hold on the Enchanted inaugural, and got my 2nd choice of cabins!  I will be finalizing with my TA tomorrow and see if she has any additional discounts.  I used my only  FCC to book a 7-day California Coastal, so I actually have to put up a deposit.  I wish I could switch those up, the Cali cash deposit would be quite bit less I think.

I too will be watching for the 3-for free promo and hope to benefit from that.

  9. We loved the Coral for Alaska and Panama, have no experience on the Royal.  Coral has the added bonus of extra large balconies (9 ft x9ft) on some of the Caribe deck cabins.   Depending on when you book, some of these cabins are coded BD which is priced as a standard balcony not a premium, and a very good value.  We had C317 for Panama and it was perfect ( can t help you with the shower problem).

  10. You didn’t mention what ship? You will be fine with a balcony on either side, but if you are on the Coral, you get bonus of aft viewing decks on 9-11. There are forward viewing decks on 10( not sure about 9 or 11). So if you booked near those you can move quickly around.

We did south to north and really enjoyed it. I echo the points of mevs904. Everyday got more and more amazing. We finished with 3 nights in a cabin near Denali, and the final night at the Aleyeska resort and then touring south of Anchorage to the wildlife rehab center. Flew home to Orlando on an overnight flight with a last minute upgrade to business class and slept pretty well.

  11. We were on c722 for Alaska it’s a nice area, quiet and close to the rear viewing deck also . It was half covered. It was a long walk to the buffet at the front. We liked it very much.

If 727 is the very last cabin it’s slightly smaller than a regular mini balcony but has a curve so you get some aft view. People on the rear deck can see into your balcony and it is uncovered.

  12. Last October we flew business class from Toronto to Rome and economy from Fort Lauderdale to Toronto using Ezair

This is encouraging. I have been doing dummy bookings for a Med cruise to get an idea of pricing ( not going until 2020 or 2021). I would prefer to save a few$ and fly coach for the inter Europe legs (like Frankfurt to Barcelona) that are less than 3 hours, and business class for the overseas leg. I couldn’t figure it out on the website but if the Princess reps can do it that may work out nicely.
