My app yesterday said I wasn’t online. Now it won’t allow log on with booking numbers or password. Data in account was all wrong...dates, cabin number, CC level, etc. I have cruise October 26 and have medallions, but next cruise November 6, with 3 days in between, I cannot access to order medallions.

Same here on my android phone. I’m connected to the Internet and I get the same error message.
what is really worrying is that when I hit my ocean profile, I see the right avatar and the right cabin, booking number and captains circle level, but when I click that journey I see a completely different booking/cabin number and embarkation date (not association with my future cruises) and the captains circle level is wrong.
Same problem today. Shows not connected and strange cruise dates, captain circle level etc.

Mutiny wasn’t my word. It was from the article. Of course it wasn’t mutiny!!

My friend is currently on this ship and sent me this article. I haven’t spoken to her yet.

We've had numerous land holidays in St. Lucia as well as having visited multiple time on cruises. We've found Spencer Ambrose to be excellent, and his Jalousie/Sugar Beach Break excursion will give you 4-5 hours to snorkel between the Pitons in the marine park. He also offers a variety of other snorkeling tours that you might find interesting: http://spencerambrose.com
We have done Spencer Ambrose twice and are scheduled a 3rd time. Jalousie/Sugar Beach Break is wonderful. We also once did an all day excursion with them including the mud baths, etc.

We love the aft cabins on deck 14. Even the insides are fine as they are close to the aft pool which is almost empty of passengers in the early evening. We do hear lounge chairs being moved at around 0700 every morning. Not too loud but definitely some noise.

I see in my cruise personalizer I can purchase the Classic Soda package for my 2 upcoming cruises at $11.79 per day. I assume that includes tax. They did change the name onboard lately to Unlimited Soda and More package. I just don't use the "and more" part, but just the sodas.
Will I also be able to purchase this the first day on the ship using OBC?
After 45 Princess Cruises and a soda package purchased on the first day for every cruise, I just want to make sure that this package is available onboard.
-
Thanks for the info. We are mostly Princess cruisers (45 cruises) and are more used to their policies. I’ll actually be OK this time since I do have a lot of refundable credit too. I was just curious about how HAL does stuff.

We are booked on Nieuw Statendam July 7 for 14 days in Norway. Usually we book independent tours but not a lot available there. We have prepaid 3 tours but have a lot of OBC. When on board, can we change our payment for the excursions to credit our credit card and charge them to OBC?

You may qualify earlier based on your cruise days.

Gee, I would be tempted to check the balance, go to the casino, put the balance on a game of chance, play ten cents and cash out-I am sure (tongue in cheek) nobody has ever thought of that 🙂
I have done that many times on the last night and just take my cash off the ship.

Would that be the same allowance for a B2B cruise booked as 14 days but is also sold separately as 2 - 7 day cruises or would you be allowed another 750 ml bottle for the 2nd leg ?
On back2back cruises, on the last night of the 1st leg, we buy alcohol in the gift shop on board. They allow us to carry it to our room. Then we have your alcohol for the 2nd leg. Even when our cruise card indicated we were on the back 2 back, the store staff never stopped us from taking it to our cabin.

On Carnival Vista, when we boarded in Athens and ended in Barcelona, we were able to buy alcohol in port and bring it on the ship to drink. We were told IF the cruise originates in Europe, it's ok. I'm wondering if that's just a Carnival policy or if it applies to Princess, too? I just booked Regal in 2020 and we originate (and end) in Southhampton. It would be great to be able to buy wine in port and take it back to our room with no fees or having it taken until the last day!
We have brought on wine in ports all over the world on Princess. Never did they even mention a word to us. We never brought more than 2 at a time and just put it in our backpack. I do see they confiscate hard liquor, but never wine. At least that's our experience.

I believe that I've heard since we have booked several cruises that the signature beverage packages have changed. Does anyone know what the current offerings are for wine???
I ask because I just read a review that said that there was only Chardonnay and Merlot available. That's extremely disappointing since I'd like neither of those wines.
Add a question how much is it to upgrade to the premium beverage package and do it just do that when I get on board?
Hey, if you are a MSU Spartan, email me at sparcat@gmail.com. We live in SD too and cruise a lot. Go Green!

We recently paid $8 per day for unlimited sodas on Volendam.
-
Yes. Call Princess and tell them who you want for your TA. They may give you an authorization number unless its a Big Box TA. Then call TA to transfer it. Very easy.
-
We are long time Princess cruiser, yet sort of new to HAL, and there is always a $100 pending charge on Princess for the 2 of us on our credit card which is reconciled at the end of the cruise. On a recent 15 day HAL cruise, I noticed a ~$1500 pending charge. They explained this is what they put on hold. There was no problem really, I was just amazed how Princess and HAL do such different pay practices, all under CCL.
-
I always get it onboard as soon as we board and use OBC. Surprise to me leaving out of San Diego recently for a 15 day cruise and was charged an extra tax from the city of SD for the whole soda package. Had I waiting after leaving port, I would have avoided that tax and I was not notified about it by staff. I heard that some ports out of Texas also have a city tax while in port

We just did the HAL bus ride to Antigua "on your own" on 11-9-18. We never do ship tours but glad we did. It's a 90 minute drive with traffic. Guide on bus was good. We drove through the volcanic eruption site from June 2018. Our guide was concerned about the volcano erupting again since it was smoking. We thought he was just adding drama to tour. The volcano erupted 10 days later and may still be erupting now. If that's the case, I seriously doubt there are tours to Antigua, since the road going there is directly in the lava flow area.

Done this cruise many times since we live in San Diego. In Cabo if you just want a beach day, you can walk around the harbor to the other side of the bay (making a right after exiting the pier). Its about a 30 minute walk (flat) and there are numerous beaches to choose from. Most will give you free loungers if you buy drinks/food. We like "The Office". There is a water taxi that can take you there and back also. It is just to the left of the dock as you exit the pier. We usually walk there and water taxi back. Also, on the pier there are a lot of vendors for snorkel, sightseeing, glass bottom boats, etc.
Mazatlan-If you want a walking tour on your own, as you exit the pier, there is a painted path on the cement with local volunteers willing to hand you a free brochure to follow. Its a nice way to explore on your own for a couple hours and even stop for a beer or lunch. We have also booked a hotel room (El Cid) when we travelled with others. One hotel room by the beach gives you access to their pools, loungers, etc. Prefer hanging out at a pool in Mazatlan and then just walking the beach as we like. Having access to the room is nice to put your stuff and even shower if you want.
PV-There is a beach very close to the pier. Also a Walmart within walking distance if you need stuff. At the beach you can do parasailing, etc. We usually go to the Marriott which is a short taxi ride. We get a day pass which is under $40pp and includes about $25 in foot credit. Their pool is beautiful. You can also sit at the beach within the resort. Food is good. After, you can walk to the harbor where there are tons of shops and restaurants. Its very pretty there. If the adults want a couples day pass, try Secrets.
Hope this helps.

We have 3 cruises planned and always enjoy 8pm or 8:15pm seating. Noticed that 2 cruises were changed to 7:15pm and one was 7:45pm. Hope once on the ship we can at least stretch the 7:15 to 7:30 or 7:45pm. Sounds like this 7:15 time is very popular. If not, we may go to the Anytime Dining.

We have never had a problem with at least dropping off our bags and putting items in the safe as soon as we boarded, usually around noon or shortly after that. Most of the time the cabin is ready. Never had a problem in over 40 Princess cruises.

I got a little chuckle at this as, he called me and told me to do just that. Change our flight from San Fran back to FT Lauderdale. At least one of us's brain is working. lol.....Thaanks Tiogacruiser, Appreciate the help.
I live in San Diego and have driven to SF many times. Taking highway 1 is awesome but make sure it is completely open after the mud slide over a year ago. I think it has just opened but be sure to check. There are great stops along the way as other posters have mentioned. Another stop is near Pismo Beach to see the Elephant Seals along HWY 1. You can find it on google and hear about their story. They are there in the winter months. Also stop at the Madonna Inn just to have a look. You may want to make reservations in advance at Hearst Castle. Have fun!
Ft.Lauderdale shuttle to car rental center?
in Holland America Line
Posted
We waited almost an hour for a shuttle and eventually took a van/taxi that picked up lots of people and drove us to the rental car place. The Uber/Lyft/Taxi is in a different spot than the car rental shuttles, so best to just make the decision to take your own transportation, rather than having to retrace your steps. Our problem was there were 8 or 9 ships in port and the free shuttle started at one ship, took people to rental car place and then came back to the same ship. We never saw the free shuttle in 55 minutes. By the time we got to the rental car, it was almost 2 hours to get the vehicle. Only 1 person working the desk, and the employee acknowledged it was a very busy cruise day. I might add, it was not and humid and no shade while waiting. Never again! Will take Uber or Lyft in a few weeks!
