I received an email today to upgrade and I’m in a H4 already so the options were an H3 and H1. I bid on the H1 but NCL doesn’t show any garden villas available so how is that possible? It hasn’t had a gv showing for at least a month. Any ideas/info? Thx

Hot tub isn’t for swimming, people are stupid. Sorry it’s been like that.

Concierge isn't going to kick the kids out. It's not so much the screaming, it's the total takeover. Kids are being kids, it's understandable in a sense. But CLEARLY the Haven is a family area. Parents get to unwind on a lounger, drink service, and kids splash and play for hours in a contained area.

 

It didn't even occur to me to see if it was adults only. My fault I guess. But for people without kids, the Haven is a disaster, at least the courtyard aspect of it. Concierge is nice but not worth the hefty price.

No, they won’t kick them out but they can talk to them. They should be controlling the haven, I’ve sailed in the haven 5 times and they will address them if you ask them to. Snorkeling in the hot tub is not even allowed.

You need to talk to the concierge about the hot tub issue and screaming. Keep on them about it, if they don’t address it go higher up. Trust me, it works. I travel with children in the haven but they are always respectful and quiet when others are around. My nephew once was not and the concierge spoke to him, I was glad. Do not wait until it’s too late, act now.

I believe he will be on the Jewel starting in March.

If I felt it was making the lives of the crew better I’d feel okay about it but I don’t believe they get it all. I just don’t.

4 members of my family got noro at Disney World a few years back. We spent 2 days stuck in our room. It can happen anywhere crowds gather. It’s unfortunate yes, but people going to the news or trying to get a refund is ridiculous IMO.

Do not think it was a coast guard inspection. I was at the pier waiting and there was one fire truck and two or three ambulances plus at 4:30 a police car pulled up and the officers boarded the ship. At that point I left.

Maybe a combination of the two then because I got off yesterday and boarding was delayed due to the inspection.

This last week both the Sky and Breakaway did not make their calls there. Weather seemed nice but I guess the water was too rough. I was on the Breakaway and while it seemed fine I'm no nautical expert so I can't dispute what the captain said with any authority. It was disappointing but cruise was nice regardless.

Does anyone know why the BA left so late today. Thought it was supposed to leave at 4:00. It left at about 4:51

Coast Guard Inspection

Just off the Breakaway today and I am getting the Vibe pass next time. 90% of the children in the Haven were behaving well but let me tell you, the other 10% were out of control. I have a 12 year old who has sailed in suites since she was 5 and if she behaved like those kids she'd be in big trouble. It's the parents fault but good luck finding them. You couldn't even relax on the second Haven deck because of all the screaming. Not here and there, constant for hours.

Patrick is concierge on Breakaway right now.

Omg on the Breakaway now and if I wasn't in the Haven I'd swim away. But then again it is a school vacation week. So many kids!!!!! I have one of my own but why most so many of them scream??? Oh and we missed GSC. Still loving it though!

If I am in the Haven and I have the unlimited beverage package, can I ask for certain liquor for my room?

I have an aft facing penthouse 1 bedroom suite.

They won't usually bring alcohol to your cabin, even with a butler. I don't know why, it's annoying.

Just curious.....

 

If you are already booked in the Haven, do you get an offer to upgrade to another Haven type room?

My cousin was offered an upgrade from her aft haven suite to a H4, H3 and H2. She did not bid because she likes her cabin.

I'm obsessed with it and it's just for a friend! I just feel bad because he is a single cruiser and we have 9 other ppl in the Haven.

It will either drop in price or sell out. Up to you if you want to risk it.

Trying again to see if anyone knows the return time for this excursion. The ship is docked from 1-9. My daughter really wants to go and has been having a tough time with her first year of middle school so I'm caving, lol. Thank you

Meh. I'm booked directly in a Haven suite and it was great to book directly when you got beverage package for ALL but now it's just first 2 ppl. 3 nights of specialty dining for 2 ppl. For us bidding is too much of a risk as we travel with my aunt and uncle who won't go unless it's the Haven. For most people it's worth the gamble bidding unless it's haven or bust.

You won't get anything more. They can't make exceptions because it would open the floodgates. Not that you want to hear it but cruise insurance is sooo important and really a minor expense. Sorry you have had to learn this the hard way.

Has anyone ever been able to move people to another cabin close to sailing? We are currently booked as 5 ppl in a 2 bed haven suite. 4 adults, 1 child. We are one week from sailing and haven spa suites are priced where I would consider moving 2 adults into one. Will they a) Let us do this and b) if they do will they move funds from those 2 ppl and apply to the new cabin? I'm not even sure I want to spend the extra $ so I figured I'd ask here before calling to get an idea if it's even possible to do. Thanks

Happy to say we got the haven spa suite upgrade for 4/8 sailing. I low balled the offer too and it said poor chance. Nice bit of good news.

 

We originally were on celebrity summit that canceled two weeks ago. Scrambling to find a cruise same dates. I didn't mind paying a little more as this cruise was less than celebrity.

 

Hopefully now I can relax after two weeks of hell of rebooking and flights.

 

It is obvious they are trying a Priceline type thing to maximize revenue. Wish they would just do free upgrades if the rooms don't sell.

I had the worst butler I've ever had right in the Haven 2 years ago. My favorite butler was one we had in a forward suite. So as others said, it's the butler more than the location.

I know that is spring break in the tri-state area so it probably is sold out. Still, give NCL a call to be sure.
