We stayed in 8686 on our Empress cruise out of Philadelphia in August 2011. At that time, it was not classified as a junior suite.here are some pics of the cabin.

I think the location of either is perfect. Directly on water and the beach. Your attendant brings water and drinks so the only "walk" is to your special lunch and the bathrooms.
Thanks!
We liked the privacy of the over-the-water cabana. The ONLY downside was lugging the floating mats back to the cabana.

Andrew - you managed to snag a Star class cabin for August? Good for you - enjoy!
Klepton - I knew I wanted B2, thanks to Andrew. But B1 would have been just fine too. Not much difference. B1 was actually vacant the day we had B2. Because it was a top "wish" I just made sure I mentioned it to the Genie by email as soon as I knew who my genie was. If you tell them as soon as you get your welcome email I think you will be all set. Good luck!
We had an over-the-water (#1) when we visited Labadee before. On our next cruise, we are thinking of B1 or B2. How did you like the location?

Sometimes there is; sometimes there isn't. Frankly (!), it annoys me, too.
But I can always get some in the MDR. :)
AND WHAT A SCREEN NAME!!!!!
I don't use mayonnaise or ketchup. So, when yellow mustard is the only choice - when mustard is a choice - I am annoyed, too. I usually go for the packets of Dijon mustard at the Windjammer; it tastes great on my French fries!

On Anthem, we were in 6562, and the bed was by the bathroom.
Dad was in 6572, and his bed was by the balcony.

We will be sailing star class on Anthem next year. Thanks so much for your detailed report. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Because the way that the curtains overlap when closed, we didn't have a problem with any outside light creeping in.

Hi,
RCI has just changed my booking to room 6562 from room 8514... both are category DO, but they screwed up our booking and 8514 was no longer available.
Does anyone have any photos/reviews of that room or similar?
Any help is appreciated
We were in 6562 on the Anthem this past March. I'll post a couple of pictures a little later today

Thank you for sharing your experience.
Do you know if Johnny Rockets is included?

Cabin 12246 is a Superior Grand Suite. There is only one bathroom. There is no separate bedroom, but the sleeping area is separated from the sitting area by a wall and a curtain. What is nice is that the bathroom has two entrances, one from the sitting area and one from the sleeping area.

Oops! I meant to say that 12246 is a regular Grand Suite. We stayed in a Superior Grand Suite. Both cabin categories are the same size inside. The difference between them is the balcony. The Superior Grand Suite has a wrap-around balcony.
The one thing I did notice about the Superior Grand Suites on the Anthem - they don't appear to have the extra porthole window.

I'm currently booked in an anthem sky class grand balcony suite room 12246. I booked this cabin because the description says "These large suites offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living area with a sofa bed. The image above is an approximation of this stateroom. Actual features may vary."
I tried to look on youtube for some videos of the room but the grand balcony suites I'm seeing don't appear to have 2 bedrooms or 2 bathrooms. So just looking for clarity from the cruise critic crew. Does this room have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms? I currently have me, my partner, & our 2 kids booked in this room. If this room doesn't have it, I need to look at other options because we need our space. :D

That is good to know, I was wondering if it would just cover the base entrance fee. So what about things like the ice cream shop? I wonder if those are also lumped into the included category. (Obviously I have my priorities in order!)
I was wondering about the pastries and cupcakes in La Patisserie. My priorities are in order, too. [emoji3]

Again??
I seem to recall that happening a year or two ago when it was still based in NJ. Hope all's well...
On our March 2013 Explorer, we went through a big storm on or first full day at sea. A large wave knocked out one of the dining room windows. Walking around the next morning, we saw this damage.

What is the significance of the man being a Pinnacle member? It would be an awful experience for any passenger or crew member.
The OP brought up the fact that the news of the mugging was spreading through the suite lounge. If the OP hadn't mentioned that the victim was a Pinnacle member, a lot of people would have been questioning why the news would be spreading through the suite lounge. Pinnacle members have access to the suite lounge, so most people using the lounge probably know the victim.

Do the WOW bands show you are in a suite? Do they open the concierge lounge?

Yes, the WOW band opened the concierge lounge door for us. The WOW band also opened the door to the suite only sun deck.

Does anyone know if the Grand Suites on the Quantum have DVD Players?
Thanks
We were in a Superior Grand Suite on the 04/12 sailing. There was no dvd player, nor was there an ipod docking station in the cabin. I found the lack of both odd since we had both in our Grand Suite on our previous Explorer cruise.
