When we arrived on a shuttle bus, porters came and were waiting to take your bags and check them in for you. I always tip them a few bucks; don't want to miss those suitcases! :)

I wouldn't allow them to "roam"...they should be able to go to specific places for specific reasons, but then, they should physically check in with you before going to the next thing. Having tentative plans for the day really helps everyone know where to find everyone else.. so tell your teen where you'll be at approx. what time, and have them come to YOU to tell you where they're going next!
Of course, NO ONE should come in your cabin, and your teen shouldn't go in anyone elses cabin...this should be non-negotiable.
This will be a "family" vacation, so do stuff together as a family! You don't have to be joined at the hip, but some together time is good!
Those are some great guidelines, exactly what we did with our boys when we cruised with them at ages 16 and 13. They had to check in with us at designated times, and we had dinner each night as a family. Interesting how many times we would run into them on the sports court, or by the flowrider, or even in the Windjammer. All in all, we all had a great time!

Yesyes you can.
Thanks for the info!!

Tips for specialty dining is included in the fee. You may wish to give more if you so choose but it is not required.
.
Can you add the additional tip on your seapass card, or must it be in cash??

Been a few years since we did Panama Canal, but also did a coffee plantation tour in Costa Rica and we loved it!! Such a beautiful country. Just did a city tour in Columbia. We really didn't want to venture off on our own there. You will love going thru the canal!! Amazing how it all works, especially thinking back to when and how it was built!!!

The only part of the website that functions reliably.
Sad, but so true!!!

There's no set time. Sometimes over 5 months, sometimes less than 3. Just keep checking the website.
Will do. Thanks for the info.

How far in advance of departure can you usually book specialty dining??

if you are asking about the multiple item hangers so you don't run out of space in the cupboard then your are taking too many clothes, put half of them back.
rofl!!

You will enjoy breakfast in the MDR. Much quieter and less hectic than Windjammer.
Breakfast and lunch in MDR is a nice change to have on sea days!!

Well done!!! Thanks for sharing!

We stayed at the Radisson on our last Freedom cruise, and really enjoyed it! Would certainly stay there again.

Bernard definitely keeps up with arrival schedules of planes to plan the best time to get there. We saw many planes, including 2 747's landing!! That was impressive! As they come in closer and closer, you find yourself stepping off to the side just a little more!

Also did an interior room on our last Freedom cruise, and honestly liked it. Great for sleeping, as it was very dark. Really was much better than we thought it would be. Still like to have a balcony sometimes too, though.

Hi Samzgirl84,
Definitely check out the CC roll call forum. Also, one of our fellow passengers created this website for the upcoming cruise with lots of tips and ways for everyone to register for different things like hotels and maybe some excursions.
This is our first time on Radiance class, but we love RCCL and look forward to a great 2 week cruise, and meeting lots of new people!!

We did Bernards Tours a couple of years ago, and highly recommend him. We were lucky enough to have Bernard, and it was a great time. BEWARE>>>>> the rum punch, packs quite a punch!!!

Did anyone do any Island tours on St. Thomas and on St. Maarten? There are SO many excurisons offered by RCL, it's over whelming:eek:
I was looking at a private tour by Bernard's Tours and St. Maarten. Any opinions? We are a family of 7, kids 17-23.
Greg
Just returned from St. Maarten and did Bernards, and would highly recommend him. We had a great time with him and everywhere he took us. An outstanding tour especially for the price we paid.

I appreciate all the help we had from the Cruise Critic Boards in planning our trip and want to help others. I have put together what I hope is the Holy Grail for the Freedom of the Seas Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
It includes photos, menu's, Compasses, excursion info and more.
You can visit the links at www.robinsons1874.com/cruise
If you have anything I am missing, please send it to me so I can add it.
Steve
Thanks for that website. Excellent info, and very well organized!!
