Error 403 is a "logic" problem with the web page, most likely an error in connecting to the database to look up your card balance. Just more poor programming and lack of testing of code on the part of Princess! They will likely get it resolved soon... maybe!

Thank you for the explanation.  I need to pay my final payment in 2 weeks, and just want to make sure all the cards still have the correct balance before I call my CVP to pay.  Read on CC that many people experienced problem with card balance change to zero amount for unknown reason.

  2. I like to check my Princess gift cards balance about once a month to make sure everything is okay.  Never had a problem in the past to check balances.  Yesterday, I went to the Princess site, clicked on "Balance Inquiry", and instead of the "usual" screen asking for my gift numbers and pin, I got a screen with error message:  HTTP ERROR 403, "The service you requested is restricted, not available to your browser".  Tried on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.  All returned with the same message.  Tried again today, and still the same error message.

Any of you had the same problem?  Thank you.

Will be on the Diamond Princess, March 2024, Singapore to Tokyo.

Curious about hot the Izumi will work on a cruise that is not totally Japan.

Clothing Optional hours & clothed hours.

Where to you purchase the passes?  I can find nothing on Princess.com, even when I signin to my account.       I'm hoping to do this prior to the cruise, and stay away from the guest service counter.     Or are the passes bought at the Izumi, once on board?

Anyone have any personal experiences to share.

    Thanks

Just got off the Diamond Princess about 3 weeks ago (did 2 cruises almost b2b).

On embarkation day of my 1st cruise,  I went to check out Izumi.  Every day, between 12pm-1 pm, you can tour the place.  That was a lady there who took us for a tour of the entire place and gave us pricing and options for different packages.  You must be on the ship to purchase the passes.

Hours are daily from 6 am-10 pm; closed 12pm-1pm.  Only 6am-8am are non-clothing hours.

As I mentioned previously, we did not get our bid rejection letter until just one day before sailing.  We just got home from completing the trip last night.  But unless you think Princess might be just a little slow with their emails, this morning I received an email telling me that the excursions on the cruise (we just completed) are filling up fast, but there is still time for me to book a tour if I hurry!! LOL LOL

I got one too.  Cruise ended Sept. 29.

Enjoy!  We were on the Coral Princess around Australia a for 28 days in April.  It was a great cruise on a thoroughly enjoyable ship.

In April, we did 27 days from Sydney to L.A. on Majestic Princess; really enjoyed the ship.

Before our last 2 cruises (last month on the Diamond Princess in Japan), for 10+ years, we only cruised on Princess' Royal class ships and enjoyed it all.  Then we did the Diamond Princess last month, a 7-day and a 9-day, and didn't enjoy it too much.  Although the Diamond's mini suite total cabin size is similar to Royal class ships, but due to a bigger size of the uncovered balcony, the inside size is smaller.  The bathtub is much narrower, so when taking shower, the shower curtain still touches the body.  There is no IC.  Can never find a table in the morning at the buffet.  We like IC because if the buffet is crowded, then we can just grab an egg muffin and almond croissants to eat in the cabin.  I can't believe for the entire 2 cruises, not once there were egg muffins served in the buffet.  😊  Overall, the food and service were not good compared to all my previous Princess cruises.

Because of the experience of the Diamond Princess, we did hesitate to book the Coral cruise.  But we really like the itinerary, and the decision breaking point is Coral having the IC, so we decided to give the non-Royal class ships another chance and booked the 32 days cruise.😄

Not as big as on the Royal class since the ship and the number of passengers are much smaller, but we found it more than adequate in selections.  It can get crowded in around breakfast time.

Thanks.  This morning, we just booked their 32 days from Singapore to Los Angeles (10/17/24-11/17/24).

Food, coffee and a small bar.

Food section offers a lot of choices just like the Royal class ship’s IC?  Coral IC also opens 24 hours?

Here is a picture of IC food currently taken on the Majestic Princess.

She wouldn't have known then and been happy with her upgrade if you didn't.

When she first got the upgrade 6 days ago, from the Princess email, she knew she was given cabin D404.  Princess didn't send her another email notifying her of the cabin change.  I noticed it yesterday when I checked her Princess account to make sure her stockholder OBC was credited.  This morning I told her about her cabin change.  She actually likes the new cabin location better, because now she is only 3 cabins away from our cabin.  😄

The reason for my original post was letting others know that even after you have been assigned a cabin from the bid acceptance, Princess can still change it.

Did you tell her this or did she know it's the worst location?

I just told her.  All Reserved Collection cabins on the Diamond Princess are in the middle section on the Dolphin deck.  So even she got the last cabin (aft) of catg. M1, it is still midship.  Her cabin is D503, right next to regular mini suite (catg MB), a lower price category than hers.

Was the reason that another bid -- perhaps a higher bid than the original - came in they got bumped to the different location?

I kind of doubt it.   If that is true, then Princess will be constantly switching cabins that were already assigned for prior accepted bids as soon as a high bid comes in.

from my recollection when the ship was in Aus/NZ that was the case but there were very few people who took advantage (I used it daily - sauna fanatic) There were different hours for clothed/unclothed and no time or visit limits. This of course may all change with a Japanese cruise in Japan where I assume it would be much more popular.

    Thank you.

This is very rare. Princess must have needed the cabin for some reason to move her again.

I thought of that too.  I thought maybe her originally assigned cabin can accommodate 4 persons and they moved her to a cabin that can only accommodate 3 persons so they can sell that 4-person cabin.  So I checked the deck plan, and saw her original cabin can only accommodate3 persons, and her current cabin can only accommodate 4 persons.

In her case, her cabin location can't get worst.  Now I am concern for my cabin.  My bid was accepted and I was assigned a mini-suite, catg MB,  in a good location on Dolphin deck.  I hope Princess will not change my cabin and give me a mini suite cabin on the Emerald deck in the aft, above Club Fusion.

  13. My friend received an email from Princess 5 days ago notifying her bid acceptance for the Reserved Collection Mini Suite (cruise will start in 3 weeks on Diamond Princess).    She was given cabin D404, very good mid-ship.  She called her CVP to ask him to mark the cabin as "No upgrade" because she really like the cabin location.  Her CVP told her it is already marked as No Upgrade, and he said, once bid accepted and cabin assigned, there will be no further changes.

She checked her booking daily.  Today, she noticed her cabin has been changed from D404 to D503. which is 11 cabins more toward aft of the ship and it is the last cabin of the M1 (Premium mini suite) before the category change to catg MB. regular mini suite.

She asked me if from now until her boarding, will the location of the cabin be changed again by Princess?  I told her most likely not, because her cabin is already the worst location of the M1 category.

So, it is not true that once assigned, Princess will no longer change your cabin.

There are lots of food courts at all of the indoor shopping malls:

Queens Square near Intercontinental Grand, Yokohama

The one near the Sheraton Yokohama

One mall has food from Hawaii (Leonards, Eggs and Things, etc).  World Porters Mall

I don't remember which one has what.  Normally, I would provide you links, but my computer is not behaving well.

    Thank you!

  15. @ROCruiser  Just finished watching your video on Tokyo 1-day visit (Ueno Park, etc).  At the end of the video, you returned to Yokohama and said had dinner at the food court.  Looks like there were a lot of small restaurants in the food court.  Do you remember where is the food court?  Is it in Yokohama station?  If so, underground or ground level?

Tomorrow I will watch your video for Yokohama.  Do you have a video for Shibuya area?

Our trip finally coming up.  We will fly out next Tuesday.

    Thank you.

I cancelled a cruise last year using "Cancel for Any Reason". My FCC has the following information on the Cruise Personalizer:

    • Description: Princess Travelcare
    • Earned: 09/26/22
    • Expires: Sail By 12/31/23

Note that the expiration date is the end of the calendar year after the year of cancellation. Also note that the expiration date is "Sail By" - not "Book By".

    Thank you for the information.

  17. My bid for balcony to mini suite was accepted about 2 weeks ago.  I have friends in different cabins who bid for mini suite and Reserve Collection mini suite, and today they got their acceptance email that Princess accepted their Reserve Collection mini suite bids.  If possible, we would like to eat together, so I am thinking of putting in a bid from my mini suite to RC mini suite.  I log in to my Princess account and went to my booking, and click on "Upgrade bid" on the screen.  And the screen returned with "Upgraded to mini suite".  Is it not possible to bid for higher category once you already received the bid acceptance for one time?
