  1. On my one Carnival cruise they DID take attendance at the muster station. Certainly since the Costa Concordia, lines have started paying more attention. To SOLAS requirements.

But all this is immaterial - I am curious about why you feel that you should be exempt from an activity which ALL passengers are expected (no, REQUIRED) to attend.

It is prima donnas who feel above the requirements imposed upon the "little people" who make the exercises take up so much more of the "little peoples'" time.

As I said I was curious... I ALWAYS go to muster. I certainly hope you are not calling me a prima donna. I asked something I did not know. I had never heard of them taking attendance but I ALWAYS go...

    Perhaps she is just curious.

Several months ago someone posted about a couple who were on back-to-back cruises and refused to attend the second muster drill even after being found and asked politely to attend. IIRC, at least one very senior officer, perhaps even the captain, told them to do so. They refused and were escorted off the ship.

I am curious since I have read about scanning cards. I had no idea. Again, I stress to those who are pretty much flaming me that I ALWAYS go to muster.

  2. On the initial entertainment schedule given at the start of the cruise, tonight was listed as being the Red Frog Caribbean party on deck, with a rival Blue Iguana Mexican fiesta later in the cruise. I had brought a blue top with me to wear for the fiesta, as I had already read about it. But the two parties were swapped around, with the Mexican Fiesta now happening tonight. I wanted to get back into a dress tonight so I scrapped the blue theme and wore my planned outfit of a lemon coloured lace shift dress with my colourful sandals and co-ordinating sandals.

I LOVE your sandals!! Do you know who they are made by??

  3. This is interesting and kind of alarming. In my 5 Carnival cruises, never have they checked people off or scanned a card. As I originally said, I know it is important and mandatory.

The main reason I asked this was becasue I thought I read on another thread about scanning your card. I wonder why then Carnival does not do this? I would assume they can get fined? The only thing I have seen Carnival do is put special wrist bands on kids under a certain age.

  4. Before anyone slams me, I am just curious, not intending to do this.

Is there a way to avoid muster??

I have cruised a few times in my life  (wish more!!) and have always attended the muster drill as I know it is mandatory. Buuuuttttttttttt......

Does anyone actually check cabins to see if you are at muster? Can you actually find a way around it? I know that on my trips, they did not have a check list or anything to see if you were there. One time I even went to muster at another location.

Again, I know its mandatory and was wondering...

  5. When I book the second leg of my B2B for Oct, my PVP said that I should start looking for price changes or specials around 2-3 months before sailing. I my be in a different catergory though, since I am solo. He said single supplement cruise prices should change then and I could get almost half back in OBC.

For all of us I hope that we get something!!!
  6. I have read what others have written and I agree with a lot.

I wanted to share my expirience. Background---I have always been over weight and in my adult years ( I am 33 now) I have yo yoed in weight. I would lose 50 and gain 55. lose 40 gain 50. Last go around I lost 80 and was doing really well until I started having severe pain in my abdomen and found out I had gall stones and all due to my weight loss. Go figure. 3 weeks after sugury and on my way back up to 80+ back in weight.

Thoughout that time, I have always loved to travel. My mentality has always been this... I am going on vacation and I am going to have a good time. ME MYSELF and I paid for this trip, not anyone else. I learned to not care what anyone else thought of how I looked. I always try to dress my body in a way that is appropriate. I know I cannot wear a skin tight dress, and I dont. I wear what I am comfortable in, do what i want to and have a great time. There have been times where my dinner mates why were skinny as twigs would eat more then me! Anyways just my 2 cents.

The only time I feel uuncomfortable is when I am flying. Big part of vacation. But I have not had anyone say anyting to me so all is well:)

Good luck and I really really hope you decide to go! It is sooooo much fun!!!!

  7. I had a rough day coming back from the Bahamas where you could not walk straight without hitting into the wall. But this was NOTHING compared to what some of you have posted. Just reading some of your posts made me feel a little green :( Then I went online and googled bad weather cruise ships. After seeing a few videos I was done. The worst was the Louis Majesty video from the inside, scary.

  8. So I have asked about other ships, and I tried to search for the Paradsie but am coming up short. I know that there is a secret door but where exactly????

I found something that there are 2 doors at the front of the main lounge? I would assume main floor of the lounge which is Atlantic deck.. Can you really go back there???

I really want to finally check this out and I will be on my own so no one to beg to try to find it with me.

    Thanks!!

  9. Hello-

So I am going to put this out there, as I have slowed down in planning,

I have been reading more and more about Nachi Cocom. I think I will reserve my spot for the first leg of my trip. A few questions...

    1. Taxi- If I have to go myself, it would be 20 one way? My roll call is non existent. May change but not too sure. Will they take 1 person just one way? Or will they possibly take a few people that may not necessarily be going to the same place..

    2. Drinks... my favorite is a Malibu Bay breeze... coconut rum, cranberry and pineapple. Would that be something that could be served??

    Ok thanks!!

  10. I have M21 for my B2B on the Paradise. There are only 2 cabins between mine and where the OV start. I have read something about being on the starboard side and am a bit concered about noise. I read about the anchor? We are stopping in Grand Cayman and Cozumel leg 1 and lef 2 Cozumel.

I have stayed in a porthole on the Riviera deck, I want to say R12 on the Sensation. (Port side) We had rough weather coming back from the Bahamas and it was not pleasent. Loud waves crashing all night.

Would appreciate your input. I normally stay in regular inside cabins since my friend perfers this, but I like having daylight and not paying for a OV.

  11. So I am researching Cozumel since I will be there tiwce in a B2B. I love the water and I love the beach even more! So I have been looking and I found Beach Day at Playa Mia, on a site. The have an all inclusive and a regular excursion with no transfers. On the site, it says its a 2 miniute walk from the pier. The all inclusive says there is a transfer from the cruise pier.

I am going to be solo and am afraid a taxi will cost me an arm and a leg in order to get to a beach. I am not all about the food and drink, I am good with bringing water for myself. I just want a beach, water, a foam mat to lay in the water and a shower would be nice.

Thoughts, ideas? Since I will be there twice within a week I really do not want to spend a lot of money....

  12. Thank you to everyone!!

A few people said that in Tampa you do not even need to get off of the ship... I wonder why.... although I would think thats a really good thing!!:D

I booked at seperate times, first leg back in February and the second just yesterday. But again, as others have done I will go to guest services. I will have to go in order to put cash on my account. Just have to remember on the last night to cash out in the casino:p

Not that this matters, but they really give you a gift for doing a B2B? Interesting....

  13. We love doing B2B cruises, same ship, same cabin. We have our 4th B2B already booked for next year.

If you do book a B2B make sure your bookings are linked. On the 3 B2Bs we've been on, we've received a small fruit basket & bottle of champagne from the hotel director at the beginning of the 2nd cruise. Since I prefer white wine, I took the champagne to the DR and asked the hostess if she'd exchange it for white wine. No problem.

After the 1st cruise, we've met in the atrium, "checked out" using our old S & S cards, gone through customs, and back on the ship with new S & S cards. Then we've had the ship to ourselves for about an hour or so.

How do you link bookings? I reserved with my PVP at Carnival, he did not mention anything. Is this something that can be seen online?

    Thanks!!!!

  14. I am checking off a few firsts on my cruises this year. I am doing my first (of many hopefully!) B2B. And also they will be solo!!

My question is this however. When The ship comes back to Tampa, I am told I have to actually get off the ship. My cabin is the same so I do not have to pack up anything. But how does the rest work?

My thoughts are I need to get off the ship, take my passport, boarding pass for leg 2 and re check in? How long would I have to be off the ship? And what time would I have to get off? I was hoping I could just stay in my cabin and sleep!

Anyone who has done this please help!! I mean I know I can always check with guest services once on board but I guess right now I would like to have some peace of mind!:D

    Thanks!!!

  15. I too struggle with the idea of YTD or Early. I will be doing a solo b2b (have to book the "back" still!) I have had various expiriences but always my friend was there...

As others have mentioned I am looking for R&R. Me time. Its nice to socialize yes but I dont mind eating alone. I would totally be ok for a table for 1 for early dining. How have people been able to email the matriD? I will be on the Paradise and would love to request a 2 top for early dining...

  16. We have stayed in 9201 right next door. No noise above or below. You might want to check with carnival to see if it is available. Doesnt necessarily show up on the website, but it is an awesome room.

I am going to contact my PVP. This is for Sept 2015. I am hoping its available.

I had 9199 on the Valor. Check out my Valor review in my signature for pics. It was very quiet, no noise at all.

Hi, thanks for the review, but I could only see 1 pic of the room, The other 3 were red X in box's. But I think I will try and google them or try this one website! Thanks!!!

  17. Hello-

Has anyone stayed in these cabins before? I am looking at the deck layout and I am a little concerened becasue the bridge is right below and right above it looks like a blank area so I am not sure what this could be? I am planning on treating myself for my 35th b-day next year and I love the idea of this cabin. But I would like it quiet:)
