  1. I sailed solo on the Breeze this week last year (today is my 60th birthday and I was on board for my 59th!) I've done solo before and I had sailed on the Breeze previously. While I'm not sure what you're looking for regarding crowds - never a problem for me, I can tell you that I loved it.

I spent a lot of time reading by the adult pool. I found a band I really liked and spent a lot of evening time in the "Ocean Plaza" (I think) listening to them. My big mistake was doing the anytime dining. Sometimes I was seated with a group of people and it worked great. But not so much when I was seated with just a couple, especially if they were young. I will only do main dining next time, to be sure I'm with some other solos or at least folks my age. I did enjoy some of the movies on deck. I wandered feeling very comfortable on the ship. I did some activities, but it was really a re-charge and relax time for me. I love the ship, but don't care at all for the Playlist Productions so didn't do much of them. I did, however, enjoy going to the Comedy Club - which WAS usually crowded, but gave me folks to chat with while we were waiting.

I hope it works for you, however you like to enjoy your cruise. Wish I could do it again - right now!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!! Hope you did something fun!!!

I guess I am just wondering with all the people will I find a spot at the bar or a seat to eat on the lido... Im not a very open person and I do like to chat I am not one to start a conversation normally :( As you said recharge and relax is what I am planning on!! Well that helps! Thank you!1

  2. I decided to do a solo on the Breeze. I did a solo last year on the Paradise and is much smaller obviously. My parents loved the Breeze but I am worried I may get swallowed up by the crowds I expect on board.

Can anyone tell me the most crowded areas on the ship that they have experienced?

  3. Can you post a link to the place you contacted? I searched Silver Sands but came up with a couple different places. What was the price they quoted for a day pass?? Thanks for the info! We are wanting to spend the day at a beach without the long drive.

I googled Silver Sands Jamaica and it came up. They are villas. Hope htis helps.

  4. The Jacob Taylor beach is in the town of Duncans (maybe a 10 minute drive from the Falmouth pier). It is right next to the Silver Sands villa complex (where we always stay).

It is a nice beach, but small. There are a few craft vendors there (not too pushy). Also Leroy's Bar is right by the water. I believe he also has food.

Not a lot of activites there and no lounge chairs (that I remember).

The beach at Silver Sands is spectacular, but I believe it is limited to guests there.

I contacted Silver Sands and they said that they can send a driver out and I can use the beach and facilities. All for a price of course, Would you recommend doing this over a hours away beach in Ochos Rios?

  5. My FIRST cruise I forgot my deodorant. Miami... Caribbean... not a good combo. I had to buy some in the hotel and it was not a brand I use or like and was around $6.00. Its funny cause I still have it and that was from 2008, lol lets just say I have not forgotten that since. Also I laugh because I packed SO much for that first cruise I was shocked... I did not use about 1/2 of what I brought...

  6. Funny because my former PVP would get back to me in a timely manor and then there was a situation about a refund and since then I can email, call a million times and he will not answer me back. I know he is still with the company. I just call in now and get who I get...
  7. No bartenders outside on deck 5 for lanai hot tubs but you could get it from the casino bar. The aft pool was full of adults. The kids were in the other pool and at waterworks. Surprisingly, there were more kids on the 8 nt then last ur on the 7 nt dream. Go to lanai to use hot tubs. It was pretty full on aft

great, thank you for getting back to me. I have 1 more question for you. I am sailing solo and am a little intimidated by her size, when I was on the paradise solo it was different. Am I likely to find quiet spots on board?? prob should of thought about that before I booked!

  8. your welcome. There is not much in the immediate Falmouth area outside of the cruise dock enclosure that you would feel comfortable with alone, as the locals are pretty aggressive. Red stripe is the exception.

Where do you like to snorkel in Grand Cayman and Cozumel? We will be there (and Falmouth) the week of 2/1. Have been to Cozumel many times, and Grand Cayman 3 times, but haven't found snorkeling that compares to Roatan yet.

Oh as far as snorkling I have not snorkled in Grand Cayman and the snorkling I did in Cozumel included Cahananb (spelling) PUnta Sur and another place that we were taken to on an excursion. I think I liked Ounta Sur the most. That was also a few years ago, I have not snorkled much lately :(

I am tempted to stay on this ship but I have never been to Jamaica so I feel I should do something, But then I can have the pool to maybe a few people and myself rather then the tons of people I heat take over these pools.

The ship excursions take you to beaches near Ochos Rios. I guess as long as I am on the cruise excursion I am fine. We will see what i decide, Right now leaning to looking around the cruise terminal and then back on ship.

  10. Red Stripe beach is close to the port, nice beach with plenty of shade nearby, very safe. Not real big, but you can walk along the beach for quite a distance either side. The water is ok for wading, but not good snorkeling. As far as I know, the only way you can go there is through the ship excursions. This would be a very safe way for a single to go, jut book through the ship (I almost never recommend this, but here is the exception). You will be escorted to the bus with the group from within the tourist enclosure. Through Royal Caribbean, I think the excursion is around $28, plus you may want to buy food and possibly rent a beach chair $5? Good luck and have a good time.

Thank you! I will have to look at the Carnival excursions then. I normally dont do cruise excursions I book on my own but I have been to many of the islands multiple times. Like Cozumel and Grand Cayman I have been to and feel comfortable going on my own. But Jamaica is new.

    Thank you!!

  11. Hi, So I know I am planning early but I want to make sure I go somewhere that is safe and nice as well for a solo.

I have read a lot about Doctors Cave and seems nice but 30 min ride I am not doing in a taxi on my own, and it does seem like a long time to get to a beach. Is there anything closer to town so that I can go shopping and such since I have never been to Jamaica before?

Just a nice beach that would have some decent snorkling and nice sand and water also SAFE!!!!

    Thanks all!!!!

Any suggestions?? Please? I am getting worried that there is nothing to really do around Falmouth?

  12. So I made a reservation (or thought I did) on the Carnival website last week and I have not heard anything back yet. Its for the Breeze on Nov 29th. I wanted to just get it done and have one less thing on my mind and I have not heard back. I did get a confirmation once I submitted my info, Is there a way to check? I am too early?

I have already joined the roll call for the Conquest sailing so I think it will be a great time.,

Honestly the best thing I could have done!!!!
