I was wrong. There is, in fact, short-term baggage storage for disembarking passengers at the Quay 30 terminal on the St Charles River, opposite the White Birch Paper mill. $10 per bag. I'm in Quebec City now. The terminal that is mentioned in the link is currently occupied by a boutique cruise ship. We're in the Zuiderdam, and I see no sign of baggage storage here. And this terminal is a mass of confusion. Tomorrow, when we disembark, I'll probably pay a cab to take us to the other terminal to drop off the bags while we pass 8 hours waiting for our flight.

Our cruise is still 7 weeks away, but I am getting antsy about the train schedule. I have paid for the transfer by rail from Anchorage to Whittier, but have received no information about when to be where. When I try to get information from the web site, I get, "These items are unavailable for booking at this time. Please check back later." Would somebody please tell me what to expect on this part of our cruise? Were you able to access this information on the HAL web site? Do we gather at the train depot? How much waiting is there? How many trains are there? If more than one, did you get to choose departure time? What is the experience like in moving from the train to the ship? Ron
