  1. Which do you recommend?

Celebrity docks at the Dockyard and is there for like 52 hours.

Holland America docks in Hamilton and is there in Bermuda for 70 hours.

Celebrity sails round trip out of NY.

Holland America sails round trip out of Boston.

I have never been on either line, only on about 15 cruises on Princess. Never been to Bermuda either. Thank you for your thoughts!

  2. I am considering a cruise to Alaska this summer and appreciate all this info. But I wanted to know which month is better...July or August? We are flexible. Thank you for your input!

  3. The deluxe balcony staterooms on the Royal are definitely smaller. Everything is just tighter. Even the mini frig is smaller. It can barely hold the large bottle of water that they sell via room service.

    Closet space is smaller.

Bathroom appears to be larger but really it's just curved. Balconies are much smaller, so less space there as well.

Food is OK on the Royal in the dining room, not spectacular. Service was very good.

I agree with everything the OP said. Spot on!

  4. Thank you so much Norris for your fabulous review! Couldn't wait to continue reading with every new post.

I will be on the Ruby in two weeks with my husband, sister and brother-in-law. Both men smoke. Thank you for pointing out the areas on deck that still allow smoking, but is there anywhere inside where they can smoke? On the Caribbean Princess there was a smoking bar but I don't think they have one on the Ruby, or do they?
