  1. I'm waiting until the day of to try and grab cheap seats for Bey here in NOLA. I'm seeing Drake, a few days before here too. I'm normally silent on reviews but I had to pop in for this. 😉
  2. It is only for the first two people in the cabin. It will not cover the 3rd person. If you called normal Carnival customer service that is probably why they gave the wrong info. It's a Casino offer so you have to contact the casino department with any promotional questions.
  3. People cancel once on board so the one you are looking for may open up and sometimes there are excursions that come up per sailing. We've booked ones on the ship that we never saw online.
  4. You're about equal with beach access for either itinerary. Cozumel has no direct beach access near the port. You pretty much need to taxi but plenty of options if you do. (Been more times than I can count) Same in San Juan (I haven't been yet. I go in Dec.) From research, The beaches are close but possibly still need to take a taxi. All your other destinations all have beaches or pools at the port.
  5. My suggestion is the opposite. Do as soon as you get on board and make it easier for everyone. Once it's done, you can relax, have lunch, a drink and no worries.
  6. You go to your muster station as soon as you get onboard to check in and see the life jacket demonstration. You are supposed to watch the full length safety video in your cabin or in the Hub App for more detailed information
  7. You should file a police report with Baltimore PD. If it was stolen and done by shoreside staff, they do not work for Carnival but fir tge port so any investigation will need to do done by the actual police department or port authority (basically police but for the port only).
  8. Neither has the parts where the water from the dispenser is going into the cups. 🤷🏾‍♀️
  9. This! I'm annoyed at this constant conversation. Most water bottles today Do not dispense in the same place you drink. Probably half of cruisers these days have Stanley cups that you have to completely remove the part you drink from to refill. If filled properly, you will not come into any contact with the drink dispenser. There is no difference with Carnival's drink dispenser and the water bottle fill up stations at your job, theme park, etc and none of those have cups on the side for you to "fill up" with. For the record, the Carnival sign is meant to remind you to use a fresh cup every time you get a drink like you get a fresh plate with every visit to the buffet. If it was specifically meant for water bottles it would take 4 or 5 or more fresh cups each time I want to fill up my bottle.
  10. Yep, really the only reason to pre-book. My mom usually does the first sea day. The issue is most of our recent times, they did not refund in the time frame and it was a trip to GS. I think she has settled on not pre-booking this time.
  11. Thank you for responding. In my mom's case the added tip has been more than 18% more than once.
  12. Hey yall! I have a random spa experience question. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned the issue my mom had before with prepayment for the spa using the 20% discount and the spa recharging for the services once they are done. They spa team has also added their own tip to the charge with this recharge. It's "supposed" to refund the original charge but last cruise my mom had to go to GS to get it fixed. So the main question is has anyone had this same experience recently? Have you had the spa team put their own tip on your SS card? Have you ever tipped cash in the spa? Sorry for all the questions but we are leary to pre book the spa again after last time but we sail again in 40 days.
  13. Yes, you will need to confirm who is going before check in.
  14. As long as it is a State issued ID it is fine. Not all states issue lifetime IDs but yes it is a thing. She currently does not need to get a Real ID unless she wants to right now and it has no effect on the actual cruise.
  15. Every cruise during October will have a Halloween deck party and costume contest. There also special drinks as well. It's a fun time and you will see a wide range of costumes. I wish I was able do do a cruise in October this year.
  16. I love Triva on a cruise and 100% agree its ruined by cheaters. I actually won Harry Potter triva with 11 questions right because no one cheated! But the cruise before someone got all the questions right including the name of a teacher who is only mentioned once in the books and never in the movie. No way someone would have known that off the top of their head. I wish they would do like a phone lock box or something for triva like they do at some bars.
  17. I don't cruise Carnival for their loyalty program. I honestly don't care. I am Platinum and yes, I enjoy the perks, it's a bonus not a mandate. I cruise Carnival because I get more value for my money and enjoy the ships and Carnival's social interaction with its guests. The perks are nice but I wouldn't stop cruising Carnival if my fanny pack got taken away.
  18. The cruiseline is not responsible for disciplining children. The parents are the ones responsible. If their child can't be controlled they shouldn't have taken them on vacation. Every single sailing is different and no way can anyone one say "the Vista has too many bad kids" when a whole new group joins the next week. That's insane. There are bad kids at Disney, Universal, the mall, the movies, everywhere! If the parents aren't doing their job, why is it anyone's else's job to do it for them??
  19. Your enhanced ID only works for air or land travel to those places. (For the ones you can of course go to by land) You just need the ID and your birth certificate for embark and debark for the cruise.
  20. I'm just seeing your post. I haven't dealt alot with CRBAs but what Sparks says sounds right and you can never have enough documentation. Ferry will have more updated info than I would.
  21. No big secrets for the Valor. Easy to navigate. Only place hidden kind of away is the Steakhouse. Can only access from the back of the ship. She's a lovely ship and I've been on her plenty. I love the seats off the atrium to the side to sit and people watch. Bbq on the level above the lido. Seafood shack is my favorite from all my cruises.
  22. Photo copy means a printed copy of the original NOT a photo on the phone.
  23. I used to work check in for another cruiseline. It's up to the port staff who will also need to get approval from Homeland for the photo to be used but no one can answer if they will say yes or no. Did she go on the Vital records site and try and get an expedited one? Or as someone mentioned if she has someone still in Texas can they go get it on her behalf in person and overnight or even fax it? I've seen approvals for the wildest issues so hold out hope but have a plan in place just in case.
  24. All birth certificates need to be certified. It doesn't state a photocopy because a photocopy is not normally accepted.
