We got ours authorised within about 5 minutes last week.

We have also been in a cabin above the theatre. We weren’t disturbed too much although they do sometimes rehearse after the late show and some noise can be heard then.

Does Princess still offer the Bon Voyage Experience? I think I have the name right. Tried searching on Princess and tried the search function here but couldn’t get that to work! We will be leaving from Melbourne on Golden Princess in November and would have liked to be able to show someone around the ship before we leave.

Just off Viking Star and I had both my IPad and phone connected at the same time. No issues.

Not wanting to start a war here but can anyone on Ruby Princess tell me if the 15% gratuity on bar purchases has been increased to 18%? A member of staff currently on the Ruby posted a photo of a bar receipt, on Facebook, today and the gratuity was showing as 18%.

One of the CSRs in the U.K. replied to my email on this subject. She said the removal of the chair was being trialled on 2 ships but from this thread it is apparent that that is not the case. She did say she had got her info from Princess USA and that they were monitoring any complaints that were received. Another case of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing.

It would appear so. We have been loyal Princess cruisers for the past 15 years but are seriously considering moving to another line. 2 booked for later in the year then we will decide what we are going to do.

We were very disappointed in Alfredo’s on the Sapphire. Only a few pizzas on offer and service wasn’t that good either. No interaction with the waitress after pizzas brought to the table. No offer of extra drinks. We were the only people in the night we went. It was never busy during the cruise and was used as an overspill for the International Cafe during the day. They have moved Vines, which is now merely a few tables with no bar, to accommodate this. A mistake in my opinion.

We were in a partially obstructed balcony room on the Royal Princess last year. Emerald deck, I think it was E405. As far as we could tell the obstruction was the lifeboat on the deck below - Promenade deck. We were above the jewellery shop so very quiet location. No issues with the room or the views.

Thanks everyone. I don’t really have to have a special diet, just kinda work out (guess at times) what carbs are in my meal and adjust insulin as required. Might take a couple of small bottles with me just in case. Under 7 weeks now till we fly to Miami to embark the Viking Star for the transatlantic to Barcelona.

Anyone know if Viking Star has diet tonic. Have been on 2 Viking River cruises and they didn’t have it so had to take my own (I am diabetic).

We were recently on the Royal and the show in the main theatre was only on twice per night.

We are planning a ‘big’ holiday to Australia and New Zealand in November/December next year. We have already booked 2 cruises - one to Tasmania from Sydney and one to New Zealand from Melbourne. Can someone advise how dressy formal nights are on these cruises. Our trip will be about 6 weeks long so luggage may be an issue. We normally dress up for formal nights, husband brings a tux. Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone. We have been on the Royal before but never tried the MDR on embarkation day. We have been
to Alfredo’s on past cruises and will probably eat there at some point during the cruise. Off to pack now as we leave tomorrow morning.

Boarding the Royal Princess on Friday. Does anyone know which restaurant is open for lunch?

Post on Princess Cruises UK Passengers site on Facebook today with picture of kettles now on Sapphire Princess.

Free Princess shuttle available when we were there last year. Dropped off in the city centre.

No, called diet.

I am diabetic so have diet tonic with my gin. I have been able to get it on some cruises but not on others. I was once told that I should have ordered it on the personaliser as a dietary requirement! I now pack a few small bottles in my luggage so I have some if the ship doesn’t. I have found it more available if there are more British passengers. I was once told that Americans don’t drink diet!

I was diagnosed 4 years ago, just 4 days before a cruise that had to be cancelled. Although I am Type 2 I am insulin dependant but have never disclosed this to the ship. I count carbs and manage my insulin depending on what I eat. I have tried the no sugar options for dessert but cannot say that I found them very good. I now just eat what I want, within reason, and adjust the insulin accordingly. As others have said keep active, that will help keep your blood sugars down. Most of all enjoy your cruise.

We were in cabin E215 on the Regal in September. We could hear the rehearsals which could be morning, afternoon or after the show was finished at night. Didn’t seem to be any fixed times. Lesson learned, wouldn’t book this location again.

We had a totally different experience. Flight allocated to Miami was via Munich. Our TA phoned and it was changed immediately to a direct flight from Heathrow without any hassle. I had priced the flight myself in case we had to do it ourselves and found the one way flight was around £1200 each on the BA site, Princess charged us that for the two of us.

None on the Crown in May.

Sent an email to Princess UK and got a reply this morning. Apparently this discount isn't always available. Depends on cruise and whether it is part if a promotion or if it has already been heavily discounted. Neither of these apply to our booking so looks like it's a bit of a lottery. Not too fussed will enjoy the cruise anyway.

Didn’t need to take them on our last Princess Cruise October last year.
