  1. Calling someone a liar, especially a veteran, and then gleefully admitting you can’t even bother to look into the issue when it is so easy to do so, says a lot.
  2. I’ll do your research for you. Here is the veteran you are shamelessly dissing: https://www.linkedin.com/in/taylornmattson
  3. You need to read the entire thread to have an informed opinion. The woman was previously a lawyer and admitted she has the advantage of handling her own arbitration case. Not something most people can do, but some can.
  4. How do you know it isn’t true? The OP now runs a travel agency and you can contact her directly for more insight to verify she exists and to confirm she believes what she is saying. It might be an exaggeration, but it does appear to be legit.
  5. Well, you missed the point and clearly did not read the entire thread or you would understand it had nothing to do with $10. In terms of responses, it was 50/50 for and against.
  6. I’m sure the OP on the Silversea board really wants her $10! What a ridiculous statement.
  7. You like to make assumptions. I have not provided legal language for their contract. I would have to charge for that!! I will note that NCL is smart enough to offer a goodwill gesture over relying on that language. I guess at least they understand the importance of principle, unlike Silversea.
  8. You have made a giant assumption that this type of language can and will survive a legal challenge and/or PR assault. Just ask Disney Inc. about that, and read my last post about Silversea. Courts have a history of disallowing contracts that are one sided.
  9. Talking about reputational and legal risk, there is an interesting thread on the Silversea board called Silversea Shenanigans Onboard Silver Muse. The OP has now taken the cruise line to arbitration over an upgraded brand of champagne that she did not receive but was apparently entitled to. The dispute is really over principle, and not the $10 difference in the 2 types of champagne. Now, if Silversea had handled the matter in a more customer friendly way, it could have avoided some reputational damage and legal costs. Never mind the many hours of labour invested in it. The outcome will be interesting.
  10. Just go on their website and look at the descriptions of their dining options. It does not have to be in the contract if a company is using the information to attract customers and generate business. It’s commonly known as false advertising and deceptive marketing, which may have reputational and legal consequences.
  11. But not at all the venues that were promoted and advertised. And not at the one we like the most. So they are providing me with less value and enjoyment.
  12. They would have to be very small servings for it to make economic sense for us. But I will reconsider.
  13. We like the extra sq footage in the signature suites (S4) and the suite restaurant, but thought it was not worth the huge added cost. So we booked a deluxe balcony, bid to upgrade at half the cost, and won. It was a risk, but one we were happy to take as we still would have been happy in our balcony cabin.
  14. Our issue is that it looks like one is paying extra for more courses, and we find it difficult to eat more than 2. Ohh…to be 20 again when I could eat 12 courses and walk away hungry!🤤
  15. Where did anyone say it would ruin their vacation? Of course it would not. But my fare included 3 evenings of specialty dining x 8 people. As a matter of principle, I expected a gesture of goodwill in return for the weeklong unavailability of one of the specialty restaurants. Any customer focused company would agree, and did. End of story.
  16. I bid from a deluxe balcony. My bid was in the higher end of the Fair category.
  17. If you don’t care, that’s fine. I do, and as a result, I asked for and have received compensation. No skin off your back.
  18. I'm sure it is just as the extra port charges and taxes were buried in the contract. What's the harm in moving it up so that it is more visible?
  19. I recently won an upgrade to a Sanctuary Suite on Sun Princess and it does not come with a Premier Package.
  20. I would definitely enjoy having a drink with you, no matter who pays.
