  1. I'm in the same boat. Lately I've had better luck finding more helpful Comcast customer service reps - and that's saying something!

Seriously I wish we could recommend PVPs on here but I suppose I understand why we shouldn't. ::sigh::

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Switch PVP's? i just wish we could get one. Everytime wr ask we are told they cant give names, apparently you have to be "chosen" to get one

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Forums mobile app

Click on the "Contact Me" button as you shop for a cruise and you'll get a PVP - apparently 800 number operators cannot call out, but PVP's can.

  2.

Hello everyone. I'm taking the Breeze next week to the southern Caribbean. I have my ports all planned out but I'm stuck on Curacao. I am looking for a beach to go to that isn't too far from port, has restrooms and chairs you can rent. And, nice water and sand. Any suggestions?

If nothing else, Check the Ports Message Board for Caribbean | Curacao. Ken

  3. The section under Guest Notes on pretty much the last page of the Booking Confirmation : generally doesn't specifically state the Booking; you have to compare the Terms and Conditions there, to the Terms and Conditions for the various booking rates. Somewhere on carnival.com there's a page that has the Terms and Conditions for all the current rates, that you can compare to. Early Saver and Military will be pretty obvious.

  4. I usually wait until final payment to purchase insurance due to the fact that we can cancel before then without penalty if we need to. If you use the Cruiseline Policy, there used to be words in the Policy that it's refundable up to Final Payment date - - I don';t knopw if they're still in the Policy

In order to be covered for pre existing conditions i understand that insurance must be purchased at the time of booking ..is this correct? So....at the time of booking if you have no pre existing and then say a few months later your find out you have a heart or some kind of issue and something did happen on your cruise could/would it be considered pre existing?

Most 3rd party policies require that you purchase w/in 14-21 days of booking to get "waiver of pre-existing conditions" and/or "cancel for any reason" optional coverage. If you do this, there's no such thing, or concern over ANY pre-existing conditions.

OtherWise -- Most policies have a 60 to 180 day "lookback window" for definin pre-existing conditions; if a condition occurred during that window, you would not be covered for any condition during your cruise that traces back to that pre-existing condition.

    If during that window,

    (a) a new condition occurs for the first time - it's a pre-existing condition.

    (b) a condition that occurred prior to that window and was under control prior to that window, required a Doctor/Hospital visit or a change in RX, then it would be a pre-existing condition. (But....Note if you had a heart problem(for example) that started 5 years ago, and has been totally under control, even by prescription, as long as it did not change during the 60-180 day lookback window (did not require a hospital visit to treat or a change in Rx to control) , it's NOT a pre-existing condition.

The Carnival Policy has a 60 day lookback window, which is pretty much the minimum.

  5. We used to use a place called Air and Sea, seems that they may be going out of business and I'm wondering what places others may use for long term parking that offers pickup/drop off in the Ft Lauderdale area.

IMO Park-N-Go is the best cruise parking in Fort Lauderdale - from the parking they take you to the cruise terminal and pick you up from same. But you have to drive your car to their lot.

  6. Ruthless.... Regardless of insurance you should get "Govt Fees and Taxes" and any prepaid gratuities refunded by Carnival. Any Excursions you can cancel a few days before sailaway should be refunded to the purchasing credit card.

With the Trip Protection you should be able to recover any prepaid expenses not refunded by the Cruiseline.

Carnival Trip Protection doesn't cover "pre-existing conditions" no matter when purchased, so hopefully the adjusters can't tie this incident to a previous condition. The only hitch I can see is that most policies require that you be "able to cruise" the day you purchase the policy - hopefully that's your situation.

    Good Luck!

  7.

What is insurance that is primary payer??

Primary just means that with this policy there's no coordination of benefits with your existing Health/Homeowner's/other insurance (like there is with Secondary insurance, like the CruiseLine's). It can make reimbursement easier/quicker. ken

  8. I believe the wording in the CruiseLine Policy suggests they may let you (the CRuiseline Policy includes their Cancel for Any Reason only when the policy is purchased prior to Final Payment); you can add 3rd party policies (TravelInsured, CSA, TravelEx....) but you won't be able to get "waiver of pre-existing conditions" and "cancel for any reason" coverages after Final Payment. Most policies require that you are "physically able to cruise" the day you purchase their Policy. ken

  9. Thanks, I realize it would be 100% non-refundable for what I paid but PVP told me I would actually owe more money then I paid to the tune of 10x more (being whatever the regular or early saver rate was for that category). This is what didn't make sense to me and I could not really find it in writing. Do they charge your card the difference, do they send you a bill?

You've already paid in full for your cruise. The WORST CASE is that your penalty will be 100% of your payment, so you basically lose all the money you paid Carnival.

At least For similar Pack and GO the restrictions indicate full payment due and non-refundable; I interpret this as if you book and cancel you lose your payment. Other Bookings like Senior, etc., include restriction that "normal cancellation penalties apply" - which are those in the Cruise contract, starting from 25%, to 50% to 75% to full 100% shortly before sailway.

Look at the end of your Booking Confirmation under Guest Notes and you should find the Terms&Conditions/restrictions. But the bottom line is thatg at most you'll lose your full payment (cruisefare). Govt Fees & Taxes (and prepaid gratuities) should be separately refunded in total.

  10. The pack and play is a post Final Payment date promo? If so, I think you'll find that the standard cancellation "rates" in your cruise contract apply: 25% penalty so many days away from sailaway, 50% as you get closer and 100% within a few weeks. This is what Early Saver (and I think all rates) default to. Check the cruise contract and your cruise duration for the cancellation penalties after final payment.

SEARCH Carnival site for "Pack and Play terms and Conditions" - there used to be a page with same for all the current promos.

  11. Thanks for the info, we paid for the cruise in full 6 months ago, 116 days until we sail. Just frustrating, they have our $$$ now no service

You're way past the cutoff date for transferring to a TA. I'm thinking you should pursue the call 800 and ask for Supervisor path! Good Luck!!!

Care to share the Military booking issue(s)? Booking the Military rate is pretty straightforward.

  12. Ken, I agree with you and that is why I posted. I was on the Freedom last year where they changed the ship time to local time for Antigua and Tortola. So, I am wondering if they do the same for GC.

Any thoughts on where I can find a fun times here?

    Steve

On the Carnival Board, do a SEARCH on something like ShipName Fun Times ItineraryName (i.e., Conquest Fun Times Eastern) and see what happens. First do search for THREADS, then POSTS.

If you have a ship's excursion your concerned with, the Excursion times are adjusted to the ship's Arrival/Departure schedule "on the fly".

  13. Booked online and was assigned a PVP, (8 couples), well have not been able to speak to the PVP since she was assigned, we always get someone else, because she is busy.. Some are having trouble with Military discount. Want to change to local TA to resolve issues, gave TA all info that was requested by CCL and now CCL says we can't turn our bookings over to the local TA.:mad:

    Any advice??

Are you past Final Payment? I don't know that they allow transfer to a TA after Final Payment.

Are you within 30 days of booking - I believe you only have 30 days to switch?

If you've past the deadline, maybe call the 800 number, ask for a Supervisor, tell your situation and ask for someone (else) that can take the time to help with your issues, at the time of your call.

  14. My Guest Confirmation form has NEVER shown the Booking type (Early Saver, Military, Florida Resident.......). You have to look toward the end of the confirmation under Guest Notes and match those "caveats" against those shown on the web page for the various rates and see which matches. There used to be a page on the website that listed all the caveats/restreictions for each of the current rates, which made this easier.
