For a 4pm sailing you need to be onboard by 2:30 (I believe). Once that cut off time arrives you will not be allowed to board.
It would be a shame to stand on the dock and watch your ship sail away because he was stubborn.
You paid for all the amenities on boarding day, why not take advantage of it??
Not entirely true. I have arrived at 3:30PM for a 4PM cruise due to a trip to the ER for our grandson. Our luggage was taken and loaded.
I made a call to Carnival to advise of our late arrival from the ER and it was all good.

It has been my experience that the only time Carnival has good sales is right after you book a cruise. And it always says that you can't use it on an existing booking.
??? Carnival has a price protection guarantee on every cruise fare up to final payment date. Just fill out the form and they will adjust the price.

Y’all are missing my point, which is that fall of 2018 is currently significantly cheaper than fall of 2019. I’ve already settled on going in fall of 2019. My question is whether I should be waiting a year to book my cruise or if this is an anomaly.
This fall is cheaper because of the lingering damage from the hurricanes !
Many have cancelled or moved their scheduled cruises from this fall to a later date or different itinerary (we did and our PVP told us many are doing the same thing)
Outside of the port areas, many of the attractions of the affected islands are still quite damaged, Carnival has lowered prices to try and fill the ships.

Haven't sailed for 4 years now, just a little worried about the chance of lost luggage when checked vs carrying on all suitcases. What is the better option? Check bags or carry all bags?
Also, hearing a lot about $20+ tips to the porter to ensure bags make it on the ship?
Thanks!
Well, this is how "fake news" gets started.

The drink stations are not in the same line at the buffet, pizza counter, deli, etc, so how is a nearby drink station or bar any different for Guys or the Blue?
Exactly, the drink stations (in most cases) are a few steps away from the various Lido Deck food stations - just as they are in almost every one of your neighborhood eateries.
After all, we only have 2 hands and carrying a tray is usually done with both hands.

Not likely, selling excursions, as you are aware, is 1st come, 1st serve.
You could both look at booking the same excursion with an independent tour host (in many cases it will be the same vendor Carnival uses)

One of the perks of FTTF that is shared by Diamonds/Platinums is that your cabin is ready when you board. A room steward can only clean so many cabins between last weeks passengers getting off/out of their cabins (by 8:00AM) and this weeks passengers either FTTF or Diamond/Platinum getting on (say 11:30AM)
-
And now that Carnival has priced it so high, it must not be selling as FTTF has been available for our cruise for weeks & weeks.
Yep, just sitting there. In the past, it would have sold out in a day.
You are worrying over nothing. You will not get shut out.

Yes, about 90 days out from your sail date now.
There were multiple threads here about this change when Carnival made the change.

Getting soda requires either paying an additional fee per can or buying an unlimited soda package from Carnival.
The iced tea is not any kind of brewed tea, just a fountain syrup mixed with water (IMHO it is nasty).
-
Long story short - if you make cell phone calls on the ship, you will incur mammoth charges from both your carrier and from Carnival (which will be added by your carrier to your cell phone bill)
The reason - no cell phones towers in the ocean.

Port Miami too.
Good to know

As far as I have read, the only cruise port with global entry is Port Everglades at Ft. Lauderdale.

true some ships do and some ships don't, however, the vendors know which ships do and which ships don't. This is what they do everyday for a living. The only people who worry about times and shore excursions are nervous cruise passengers.
Exactly

Can anyone tell me if there are self-service laundry on the Carnival Vista?
Every Carnival ship has multiple launderettes, all on different floors

I know I don't change times.. I was just saying what time it will be in port vs ship time... all private excursions state the times are local port time... sorry to confuse everyone...

I’ll bet if you inquire that all your private excursions are scheduled on the arrival & departure of your ship at the local port.
Remember, it’s tourists, not locals, who take the excursions. The vendors do these excursions every day, they cater to cruise ship passengers, so the times are based on the arrival & departure of the tourists on their ship.

I’ve been on some ships , that have had some decks with areas that were kinda hidden away ( not a lot of people traffic). Does carnival Pride have any such places?
Since there is an excessive amount of wind on these decks when the ship is moving, they aren't used much except when docking. If the ship pulls in head first, these decks are a great location to observe the docking and get some pictures.

..but whenever I deal with the government I am afraid they will get me in some way. Or make my life really difficult. Always seems to be the case.
Are you hiding something ???
Very odd perspective
Neither myself, my family nor any of my friends has ever communicated such paranoia to me.
I have far more fear of the numerous people with serious untreated mental issues who are allowed to wander the streets unrestrained than of any governmental conspiracy.

No. I have not seen it on mine or any excursions listed for Princess Cay on my April 2019 cruise

FTTF is listed under your departure port in the Excursions page.

You don't need it.
Doesn't need what ?

Does anyone know what time the Breeze usually arrives in Grand Cayman? Our excursion time is 8:30. Will I have time to make it?
Look at your itinerary online, it gives the arrival & departure hours.
And yes, your tour operator will wait for you - they want your $$
-
I doubt you need to worry about it selling out. FTTF was listed for our September 2019 cruise about 2 weeks ago, and it is still available.
Personally, I think Carnival has it priced so high, they killed the previous demand for purchasing it. JMHO

Also, if there are too many quad cabins with 4 booked they can cut it off and not allow maximum allowed in a cabin once the lifeboat reaches capacity.
Exactly, Carnival is not going to allow an excess number of bookings with 3 or 4 in a cabin if it precludes/prevents being able to sell every available cabin with 2 paid occupants.
Since there can only be a finite number of guests (& crew) aboard, Carnival want’s to sell every possible cabin with the costlier 1st & 2nd guest at “full price fare”. They won’t allow cabins to go unsold so that other cabins can max out the possible sleeping limits.

Always give it to the porters (I am not one of those who is paranoid over bags getting lost).
