  1.  Good Evening,

      Tonight’s dinner in the MDR:

My husband ordered the Bolognese appetizer first,”nah”  , he chose the Honey Bourbon Sliced Pork Loin He’s saying it was ok,  needed to be a hotter temperature , but the horseradish gave it a kick in the hotter flavor area!  Mashed potatoes ..excellent! Green beans very good too!

I ordered a prosciutto covered chicken breast. It was too salty, and the chicken was dry. The mashed potatoes were delicious & served upon some type of squash??.

My hubby’s  dessert:  Chocolate, Vanilla & Strawberry ice cream. My dessert: Key Lime pie. Just ok.

I only had that fish once. I thought it tasted very strong fishy. Now I see it on so many other menus but afraid to order again. Did you really think it was a mild fish say compared to cod or perch?

I like clam chowder if it's the white kind, not the red. I hope the meals are good when I'm on dream for 2 weeks.

      Hi,

I just asked my husband your question, he replied. “Very mild, I thought”.

  3. Hi,

The only new dish tonight that we tried was the “Firecracker Branzino “ BBQ Based Branzino/a light mild fish with sliced roasted potatoes, southern greens, and horseradish cream.  My  husband loved the whole entree!!  Oh his appetizer was Clam Showder, he thought it was very good.

I had the Surf ‘n Turf ($23). Nothing special, especially the lobster, I won’t be ordering it again.

Dessert was nothing new either.  Grand Mariner (so?) and lime sorbet for me again.

The head Maitre’d told us they keep getting diners opinions on the new dishes & suggestions. They want to really make this menu “outstanding”.

Hope these photos help a bit.  I will post every dinner that we go to in the MDR.

With all the interest in food you'd think someone would post pics! I never take pics of my food but when we go on the Radiance  I will and promise to post if nobody has come forward yet lol.

      Hi,

I just successfully put up a short video here onC.C. from the main pool area. We’re on an 8 day cruise.
Tonight is dressy night (2nd day) Another dressy night later in the week.
I’ll do my best to attach photos of our dinners!  🤗

Last night was debark.   I ordered the Cobb Salad (entree size). And lime sorbet. Both delicious.

My husband had the Cornish game hen. This dish is served with half a Cornish hen. Diagonally cut carrots, a deep fried veggie (?) and about 5” long fresh potato “strips”.    He said it was good. Chocolate & vanilla scoop of ice cream for dessert.

  5.  Hi,

Since the Lahaina fire in Maui, I have been mulling over what should we do going forward.  This prompted me writing the original post. Of course, I realize Orlando 2022 is no comparison to the utter destruction of Lahaina. 😳😢

This morning we brought out our suitcases . As our Miami flight will be Thursday. Just read that storm and a Hurricane are heading towards NW Florida.  I’ll just keep myself updated to see if the storms move South.

     Thanks for your comments.

  6.   We fly to Miami Thursday, and cruise on the Horizon next Saturday. While we’re personally ready for our time away from responsibilities, I recall last years vacation.

It was in late September of last year that we cruised on RCCL Harmony out of Orlando. Due to my husband’s business we have been vacationing this time of year for 30+ years. We’ve somehow dodged Hurricanes in Puerto Vallarta and Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico — both land vacations. Our planned flights left and within days a hurricane struck.

So, while on the cruise last year, a major Hurricane came and really hit Florida hard! It was just so sad.   We had previously planned and booked a stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress for a few nights post cruise.

Coming back to the Port, we took taxi to the Hyatt. Thinking we should cancel and rearrange our flight.  After expressing our concerns to the Front Desk Staff, they encouraged us to stay. We did, but it felt odd to be there …

I’m questioning us staying last year in Orlando?

What would you all have recommended?  The resort had been damaged by water, but surprisingly looked pretty good. The Staff sad everybody stayed and worked hard to get it up & running.  Who knows if that was Hyatt Corp’s decision or the employees. We’ve vacationed here a few times before past cruises,  so we could compare.
I just think I need others opinion on what is the “right” thing to do …

    Thanks,

    Bobbi

  7. Until 10-1/2 years ago I drank alcohol …. a lot as I’m a recovering alcoholic.

    📘💙 🌌

Anyway, I never stopped cruising. In addition to week long vacations, I still do 4 day cruises out of my home port of Long Beach. Booze Cruise?  Well, they aren’t for me anymore. Yes, people drink to excess on land and on sea. But, I love to cruise and to participate !!

The trouble makers in life or on cruises can be left behind. IF needed I would just go to another spot.  Fingers crossed in years of cruising never witnessed a fight … yet.

You could always call and ask nicely to see if they can move you to the starboard side of the ship- the bulk of the casino is on the port side. Honestly the volume in the casino isn't that loud, though.

       Thank you ….

Well, I looked at Deck 5 and Deck 6 on a side by side deck diagram.  My cabin s located above the cabins on Deck 5 (the Aft).  I feel pretty good knowing this info.

      I was once in a Porthole CabinForward/Deck 2.  😳😳
NOW that was afwul … the clanging of chains (anchor ?) hitting the walls . NEVER AGAIN!

if you are an even # cabin you are good    if an odd number could be noisy depending on the location.

Well, of course I’m in an ODD number Balcony … 🤷🏻‍♀️😊.  I’ll bring melatonin in case it’s too noisy at night to sleep.

      Thanks for replying,

Scallops?  I have never seen scallops on any of my sailings.  Newer ships?

Well, I had to look up the cruises with my Mom, because I remember we both loved it.  Going back to Inspiration/Imagination cruises.  It was brand new and our waiter brought it out .. wanting to see the passengers opinion.

It popped into my mind, as I loved it!   IDK if other ships had it …

  11. 😁😁  Great review!  A nice sense of humor, not too wordy and best of all made me wish I was onboard 💙  I love the Panorama and have been to all 3 Ports quite a few times.

You were on point about Cabo BTW.  Wish Carnival would give another Port a try. Keep Cabo, but offer maybe La Paz every other Panorama cruise. Just thinking out loud …

  12. Based on the OP’s post … my opinion is no to going back on Carnival.

If they had truly felt that each day of their Carnival cruise was “ horrible”, WHY would they waste their vacation time and money??

With the money saved by not booking the cruise, OP why not explore more of the country you are visiting! 🙂🙂

  13. Hi,

    Alrighty …..  I called Carnival.

We got our Mardi Gras cruise switched to the Celebration.  We’re staying in a 8K Extended Balcony Cabin (mid ship, Deck 12) for $20 something less than our 8K Deck 12 cancelled Mardi Gras. Both cruises are for September 2024.

I’m being specific in case this info applies to anyone else’s situation. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We were NOT charged the $50pp fee to do this change.  I mentioned our Rate Code PB4 to the Rep and she said we wouldn’t have to pay. Cool!

    😁😁
