  1. My wife and I will be on a six day Caribbean cruise aboard the Conquest in January.

As you can see in my signature we've mainly sailed with Princess and RCL. This is our first time with Carnival and we've avoided the Carnival 3-day Bahama trips.

We're actually looking forward to trying something new but have a little concern about some stories we've heard, maybe written by cruise snobbists. What do you think? A six day cruise, crazy raucous or not? Carnival stories blown out of proportion? Seriously. Thanks!

  2. My wife and I were on the POA in January several years ago. While it was nice we were surprised there were no fragrant flowers during that time of the year. Any suggestions on the best month to visit the Hawaiian islands to experience the fragrance if we were to make a return trip? Thanks.

  3. We've took the tour on the Crown with captain Nash - worth every bit considering the robe, jacket, etc.. Just a thought, but if it was inexpensive there would be too many guests wanting to participate creating a lot of problems. I'm sure the tour has to be at least a little disruptive to the crew.

  4. I always take my iPad to use the free internet minutes. A few of the things I use it for: ...............

3). I have an app which allows me to see where we are and how far it is to the next port. If I see another island in the distance I am able to identify it. I download all the maps prior to the cruise so that it doesn't take internet minutes. .........

6). Check the Cruise Critic forum

Paul, do you mind sharing what app you use?

  5. It's hard to explain that "It's where we belong" feeling we have on Princess. :)

Sure, we still cruise on other lines from time to time for cruises of 10 days or less because you never know unless you cruise on them yourself.

You said it well for my wife and me.
  6. We used the Princess transfer from Southhampton to LHR and I highly recommend it. The coach got us there quickly despite rain and rush hour traffic, in plenty of time to catch our late morning flight to O'Hare. You're spending on your cruise, just spend a little more and rest easy knowing you're in their hands. Good luck.

  7. The alarm clock unit on the desk has a built in dock for older Ipod/Iphone bases. Same connector as older iPad's but they won't physically fit in the dock. A case of something specced in 2007 or 2008 when the ship was under construction but not longer used on the latest generations.
there was no clock of any sort in our stateroom (10600).
