Tonight we cross the International Dateline. We'll set our clocks back 23 hours and repeat May 4th. I really hope today is a good day. I'd rather not repeat a not-so-good day!

So no grill tonight in a strapless gown? 😃
No Grill last night and absolutely no strapless gown! 🤣 It was actually Informal last night and it was Farewell to Japan. We really enjoyed it!

We're now into our second sea day en route to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. I'm not sure how many sea days we are facing. We will be crossing the Intercontinental Date Line at some point.
As expected, temperatures are in the very chilly range. We braved the Grill last night along with a number of hardy souls. It was Formal Night.

You should ask @mysty in her thread "A Silver Shadow Over The World..." as they are on the ship currently.
Sorry! I'm not taking photos of menus. It's just too much effort while we're trying to enjoy the last bit of our cruise.

Yesterday we were in Otaru, Japan. Definitely chilly temperatures. Snow on the mountains as we sailed in.
The tour we had booked had been canceled so we did a short walkabout.....
We had a lovely send off on sail away.....

I hope you enjoy. As this is promotional I’m a little surprised at the level of the fee.
It was great! The food pairings were very interesting and delicious. We really enjoyed it!

We will be there next year. Was the skywalk a bust because of the weather, or did that even matter? 😃Thanks. Temple looks awesome.

We did that same tour last year on Muse. The temple was wonderful, as were the coastal views. You seem to have a lovely day for your visit. Ours was on a holy day and was extremely crowded with local families.
The “sky walk” is simply a thick glass platform jutting out over the water. Five minutes looking at the view. A few people walked the stairs down to the rocks. The rest of us stood around chatting in the shade of the building across the road for half an hour! Or was it longer than that?
As @Port Power has mentioned, the Skywalk was really not much of anything and we were there for an hour. We enjoyed the Temple and could have done without the Skywalk. Thank you for chiming in @Port Power !

Yesterday we were in Kagoshima, Japan. We did an excursion called Landscapes of Kagoshima. We boarded buses and drove to the ferry where the buses boarded and we sailed to Sakurajima.
First stop was to an observation area allowing views of Mount Sakura. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. The observation area was interesting though.
People make wishes here by throwing coins onto the rocks.
Next stop was Sengan-en, the sprawling traditional gardens and the house lived in by the lords of the Shimadzu clan.
As we sailed away Mount Sakura was visible.

I am always impressed by those who can do a live thread. When I'm onboard I am busy taking in the ports, the ship (or a good afternoon nap), I don't know how people make the time to live post.
Your posts are appreciated and, of course, it should be secondary to enjoying yourself. 😀
I have to admit that this adventure has involved more post time than other adventures. I need to resize photos to post and that requires more of an effort. However, I made a commitment here and I intend to honour it! 😁

We actually got lucky and we were docked at around 7:00 pm. I made it through all 8 courses! 😁 The food was delicious! Very substantial helping of waygu! 😋 Taking a sea day today!
