  1. Today was a very enjoyable sea day. Wine lecture and tasting with the very knowledgeable and entertaining gent Silversea Wine Ambassador Lawrence D'Almeida.
  2. Tonight we cross the International Dateline. We'll set our clocks back 23 hours and repeat May 4th. I really hope today is a good day. I'd rather not repeat a not-so-good day!
  3. No Grill last night and absolutely no strapless gown! 🤣 It was actually Informal last night and it was Farewell to Japan. We really enjoyed it!

  5. We're now into our second sea day en route to Dutch Harbor, Alaska. I'm not sure how many sea days we are facing. We will be crossing the Intercontinental Date Line at some point. As expected, temperatures are in the very chilly range. We braved the Grill last night along with a number of hardy souls. It was Formal Night.
  6. Sorry! I'm not taking photos of menus. It's just too much effort while we're trying to enjoy the last bit of our cruise.
  7. Yesterday we were in Otaru, Japan. Definitely chilly temperatures. Snow on the mountains as we sailed in. The tour we had booked had been canceled so we did a short walkabout..... We had a lovely send off on sail away.....

  14. As @Port Power has mentioned, the Skywalk was really not much of anything and we were there for an hour. We enjoyed the Temple and could have done without the Skywalk. Thank you for chiming in @Port Power !
  15. Thank you @turtlemichael ! The Skywalk thing was a bust! The Temple was awesome! The tour was 4 hours and should have been 3.
  16. Today we were in Busan, South Korea. We did an excursion called Temple by the Sea & Skywalk. First up was Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. Next came Oryukdo Skywalk. Once again the weather limited visibilty.
  17. Today we were in Nagasaki, Japan. We did an excursion called Nagasaki Memorial. We were greeted with a drum performance. First stop was the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. From here we walked to Ground Zero. The remains of the Cathedral near Ground Zero. From here we walked to Peace Memorial Park.
  18. Yesterday we were in Kagoshima, Japan. We did an excursion called Landscapes of Kagoshima. We boarded buses and drove to the ferry where the buses boarded and we sailed to Sakurajima. First stop was to an observation area allowing views of Mount Sakura. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. The observation area was interesting though. People make wishes here by throwing coins onto the rocks. Next stop was Sengan-en, the sprawling traditional gardens and the house lived in by the lords of the Shimadzu clan. As we sailed away Mount Sakura was visible.
  19. I have to admit that this adventure has involved more post time than other adventures. I need to resize photos to post and that requires more of an effort. However, I made a commitment here and I intend to honour it! 😁
