  1. Yesterday we arrived in Broome, Australia. We did an excursion called Panoramic Broome & Matso's Brewery. First stop was Gantheaume Point in Yawuru Park. Beautiful spot..... Next up was Cable Beach..... Lastly was Matso's Brewery where we tasted a ginger beer and 4 other brews. The most potent one was a chili beer. That one curled my hair! Today is our second day in Brrome.
  2. Some spots we visited years ago are no longer options respecting the sacredness of the site. Lovely photo. Thank you @JoGay !
  3. The weather did impact the visit to Uluru. Man plans and the weather Goddess laughs. 😅 Here are photos of the fly-over of the beautiful site..... And the first photo..... It had been intended that we would dine under the stars near the Field of Light. Rain meant a change in plans. There was an optional excursion to the Field of Light for photos..... Dinner was held at the hotel. The Kangaroo salad was delicious and there was entertainment.... The next day there was an optional morning tour. Myster and I sat that out as we had been in that location years before. Perhaps other posters have photos.
  4. Back on the Silver Shadow. Report will follow tomorrow. Currently feeling like an overcooked piece of spaghetti.
  5. Thank you @Daveywavey70! We're exited to see the beautiful place again!!!! We were there in about 2002 or so!!! 😁
  6. That is great news about the weather in Uluru! Thank you @drron29!
  7. Today is our last sea day before we arrive in Darwin, Australia. We will fly to Uluru in the morning for a World Cruise event. In the meantime, the sky this morning was dramatic.....
  8. To be fair, the wilds of Canada do not prepare us for the beastly heat of your spectacular country! 😅 We are thoroughly enjoying our ports in Australia! I just need to work with my temperature limitations! 😁
  9. Thank you! 🥰 The humidity is killer! We had rain yesterday which did not help the humidity factor! 😅 Today is more comfortable! I'm not dripping sweat just sitting down!
  10. We have been very happy with the food on this cruise. 😋 No complaints! The heat has been a challenge. Not unbearable. However, I know my body well enough to recognize when some activities are a bridge too far. So far the ship is doing well. It's all good! 😁
  11. Today was the first of 3 sea days en route to Darwin, Australia. We booked a Food and Wine Pairing Lunch at La Dame. There was a $150 per person charge and it was worth every penny. Tomorrow is a sea day.
  12. We did not venture out yesterday (our second day in Cairns) to find the Moreton Bay Bugs at Tha Fish. Weather forecast was 70% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms.
  13. Here are some of Myster's photos from his Aboriginal Rainforest Journey.....
  14. I would also like to throw in my sincere thank you to @drron29 for his much appreciated efforts to keep the Cooler Bar open and alive and well! We will actually get to meet him and his lovely wife @rojaan19 in Bali soon! A real honour for us!
  15. The excursion goes to Rainforestation Nature Park.
  16. We are now docked in Cairns. Beastly hot! Myster is going solo to the Aboriginal Rainforest Journey. It's a 5 hour excursion and I would absolutely melt.
  17. Hoping to find them at Tha Fish on the second day in Cairns. 😁
  18. Yesterday was a sea day. Day we were in Airlie Beach (Whitsunday), Australia. Photos from the sail in... Here comes the rain.... We had no excursion booked for this port. The tender ride was expected to be a little long and the weather was not appealing. We stayed onboard. It did clear up in the afternoon. Tomorrow we are in Cairns, Australia for an overnight.
  19. The excursion was not quite as described. We did walk with a Ranger. Unfortunately, the group was quite large and it was almost impossible to hear the Ranger talking about the various plants. We were given a drink and then seated at tables to sample the nuts and spices used in Aboriginal cooking. There were 3 sauces made with the ingredients. The pesto-like one was the best. The tour description had said the Chef would offer cooking tips and cook kangaroo, emu and crocodile. No cooking lesson and we were given shrimp, chicken and beef to try with the sauces. The tour description needs a hard edit.
  20. We're currently steaming toward K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island). Tender operations are scheduled for shortly after noon. Myster and I are booked on the Bush Tucker and Medicine walk with a Ranger. Should be interesting!
  21. Interesting! Do you know if anyone got a koala? We got koalas in 2019. 😁
