  5. It's been a busy couple of days in Tianjin ( Beijing). I'm struggling to cobble together the photos. Yesterday, the excursion to the Great Wall presented us with dense fog. Very disappointing after the almost 4 hour bus ride. We did get to plant our feet on the Wall though. Today we are again sailing through dense fog en route to Hiroshima. Stay tuned.
  6. And yet it feels like time has passed in a blink! It is currently sunny and chilly. I'm sitting on the pool deck dressed for the chill and enjoying a delicious cappuccino crafted by the excellent pool deck staff. Life is good!
  7. Currently sailing through fog en route to Tianjin. The mournful ship's horn adds to the moody transit.
  8. This is an Included Excursion. Travel is by bus. 😔
  9. We've been informed that the tour that included the Forbidden City in Beijing has had to be changed. Unfortunately, Silversea was not able to get tickets to that venue. There is an exhibit on display and the tickets sold out quickly. It is an 11.5 hour excursion with 3.5 hours of bus ride each way. I am bowing out and Myster is going.

  12. The venue was spectacular for dinner last night. The restaurant revolved 360 degrees over the course of 2 hours. We saw a beautiful sunset over Shanghai. Photos to follow. And there is an early show tonight featuring Chinese Acrobats. 😁
  13. We have seen the acrobatic show before. However, we had booked it again. It was canceled by the shore agent. It was a spectacular show!
  14. Today was our second day in Shanghai. Rainy and cool. We had no excursions booked. This is our 3rd visit here. Tonight is another World Cruise Event. It will be dinner at the Pearl Tower.
  15. I don't know how many are going to Tibet. Many people had trouble getting Visas for China.
  16. Last night we received our Silversea jackets. They look beautiful. Made by Stormtech.
  17. We are currently approaching our pierside location in Shanghai, China. We will be called for a face-to-face Immigration contact. We will be given our passports and a photo copy of our passports. Immigration will stamp the photocopy and we will return our passports when we get back on the ship. We need to take the stamped passport photocopy when we leave the ship for excursions and such. They will be returned to Reception when we leave China on April 10th.
  18. Our guide for that tour lives in New Territories. She was very enthusiastic about life there. 😁
  19. Yesterday was our second day in Hong Kong. We ventured out for an excursion called New Territories - Heritage & Tradition. The New Territories is one of the three main regions, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory and contains about half of the population of Hong Kong. First stop was the Tang Chung Ling Ancestral Hall..... Next was the Man Mo Temple in Tai Po.....
  20. Yesterday Myster headed out solo for the Ancient Hue and Perfume River excursion. I canceled. The tour was rated extensive and it was 8.5 hours long. The heat and humidity would have done me in. Hue is also known as the Imperial City of the Nguyen Emperors. It is home to treasures from the last ruling family of Vietnam. Photos from Myster's tour..... Dragon boat on the Perfume River to the restaurant for lunch....
  21. Today is a sea day en route to Chan May tomorrow. Last night we had another of our special meal requests served in our suite. It was Sarawak Laska. It was delicious!

  23. Today we were in Ho Chi Minh City. I ventured out with Myster for the Saigonese Coffee Culture tour. The first bit was a challenge. Walking and stopping in the heat to listen to the guide over the roar of bikes and traffic. First place we entered was not much of anything. Second place had great coffee. Third place had biter drip coffee. Lunch was very good. Pictures to follow.
  24. Today we were in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo. Myster went out solo to the Borneo Traditional Living excursion. He enjoyed it. Photos from the tour.....
