  1. Sorry, just realized you are not back yet :o:o:D

    Hi Linda

Oh I'm back! Got back late Monday night after cruise n 3 night stay at AI hotel at Gouvia.

Yes the cabin felt very roomy- had twin bed arrangement and there was about 6 foot between so no problems both trying to get dressed at same time lol. One chair and dressing table- why do fellas think the chair is to hang their clothes on.... Ideal position right next to stairwell B for lifts etc.

Gillhalfpint had the inside cabin directly opposite ours- she got out of bed in the night and stepped into a puddle- so they left that cabin at 5.30 am.Fortunately the water didn't seep to our cabin.

We met all the other four couples who write on here- which was great- they spotted my red flower!

  2. I book a year before.

Ok I admit the free AI is an incentive I want to fall for!

I book so far ahead to get free AI, the cabin of my choice, the airport near my home, and to arrange time off from work well in advance. I enjoy looking forward to it for months!

Yes I agree there are last minute bargains but if everybody waited till last minute the cruise might be cancelled! Isn't it only because most pay 'full' price that they can offer cut price bargains in order to try to fill remaining cabins on the ship.

  3. Hi there

I just need to look out for crocs then ha ha.

We won't get on board till at least 8pm on the Friday (our flight time was changed from 6am to 2pm boo hoo).We are in cabin 426.

We have been on Majesty once before and I carry a bit of card around with me bearing the locations shown below so I know which deck I am looking for!

The main places I go are:-

Deck 10 Café Royale buffet forward and Piazza San Marco buffet aft

Deck 9 Royal Observatory bar forward

    Deck 7 Frame 52 bar

Deck 6 Jubilee Lounge (shows) aft and Polo Club bar aft

    Deck 5 Coffee bar midship,

    Rendezvous bar forward,

    Royal Fireworks bar forward,

    Seven Sea restaurant aft,

    Four Seasons restaurant midship.

I will no doubt be up on Deck 10 in Piazza San Marco for lunch about 1pm on sea day (Saturday)!

  4. Just a note to all those sailing on this great itinerary on 2 May 2014- if you want to say hello you will recognise me by the black top with a big red flower pinned on it, and I am short and round with fair hair. Hubby looks like most other men on board- he's thin, grey hair and glasses!

Do say hello- it's nice to put a face to the name after all these messages!

Is there anyway I will recognise you?

  5. I also cannot get the link to work! If we could get another copy that would be brilliant - don't think I can wait a week for the official release!

    Hi there

Colleague at work has told me that the dots after collection/... mean something is missing there and you have to hover your mouse over there until the full address appears at top/foot of your screen then transfer that to your search box, replace the ****** with thomson and away you go!

  6. Anyone else got the email from cruisedeals? Full downloadable preview of 2015 cruise brochure! Been browsing for about an hour- all as expected by sailaway, but nice to see some prices and hotels.

Good to see some 3 night stays in Croatia as well as the traditional 7&7. And some free AI on the Dubrovnik departures, too.

    Hi Kate

How I envy you being able to browse the preview brochure! I have tried using the http address you so kindly provided but I'm not getting any results! Sailaway obviously did so I feel such a dumbo! Would it be possible for you to email the email to me? I would be so grateful if you could.

  7. Thanks for the review. We booked Wednesday for the 2nd of May and it was good to read your positive comments. What was the air con like? On the Dream, in January, it was quite fierce and we were cold in the evenings.

    Hi Maggie

We are on the same cruise 2 May so we may get to say hello! I've sent you a friend request.

Look for a short fat lady with fair hair, wearing a black top with a red flower pinned to it lol.

We are flying from Doncaster - I guess you will be flying from East Mid?

  8. I've managed to obtain the rest of the itineraries:

    http://sailawaycruiseblog.wordpress.com/2014/03/30/thomson-cruises-summer-2015-itineraries-the-full-list/

Confusion though over the Black Sea itinerary. Doesn't seem to be any 14 night Black Sea cruises next year, and it doesn't seem clear as to if the 7 night one will be Crimean Discovery or Black Sea Explorer.

Also, I thought there was another Dream itinerary that went to Villefranche and Barcelona, but this one wasn't listed either.

    Hi Sailaway

Thanks for all this great information.

I am looking forward to hearing what date in May the Majesty will be doing the Adriatic Explorer itinerary. My neighbour is hoping to go on this cruise (his first cruise) and I have recommended this itinerary (as it takes in Venice and Kotor), but he has to go at Spring Bank holiday next year, ie week commencing Friday 22 May 2015.

Just hoping that itinerary will be available that week!

Otherwise he will have to settle for Kotor but no Venice on W/C Thurs 21 May 2015 on Celebration.

  9. Hello Flopsy - haven't seen you on here for a while; maybe I have just missed your posts but hope you are keeping well. Have you any cruise plans for this year?

    Hi Jules

Yes I still look every few days, usually at work on Tues and Thurs as home computer is soooo slow!

Booked two this year- 2 May Adriatic Explorer (7+3 cruise n stay) on Majesty, and 1 Nov Spanish Escapes (5 nights) on Dream.

Addictive this cruising isn't it lol.

  10. Try M & Co- they have stores in some towns but it's easy to buy on line.

The dresses are easy to pack fabrics and suitable for day or evening wear. They are quite accommodating to tummies too!

As for Marks & Spencer- they have lost the plot. Although I like some of the Per Una range,I don't think I will ever be old enough to 'like' some of the drab prints and awful 'far too short' sleeves they insist on presenting us with!

  11. Before anybody says anything,,I love Benidorm, it's my second home! I go at least 3 times a year, which is clearly why I don't have the most expensive cabins on fancy ships;)

Ah lovely Benidorm- don't knock it till you have tried it!

If I hear another person compare it to Blackpool I shall scream- they are soooo different.

Can't wait to go back in September...

  12.

    re Venice

'There are no public toilets so if you want to go to the loo you will need to go to a cafe and buy something.'

Ah but I found public toilets- signposted on the route from St Marks Square to Rialto Bridge- follow the signs on the wall, but get 1euro ready to pay to get in! Calling in a bar or cafe would make more sense lol.

  13. Hi there

Yes we have often been in the Med in October and November.

It's been plenty hot enough for me.

I suggest you look at temperatures at that time of year for each of the countries you plan to visit by looking at Thomson holidays.

Up to now, fingers crossed, I have never experienced rough seas.
