They're only going to cancel one month at a time because it takes forever to even process all the cancellations. Hold times are already 2-3 hours, can you imagine if they canceled everything until the summer in one swoop?

I think cruise lines will suspend sailings until at least mid-summer. We aren't even close to the peak of this thing in the states.

Our cruise is 4/25 on the Breeze and we are still holding out to see what the offer is because I too believe that they will cancel cruises out past ours.   Either way we will cancel - both my sisters are over 70 and no doctors are going to sign the paperwork saying they are ok to sail even though they are healthy.     I did cancel the shore excursions we had booked online for that cruise this morning.    When I was trying to complete the transactions to remove them it kept giving me a message that said they couldn't process my request - try again later or call this number 800-764-7419.   I called the number and was only on hold for 20 minutes before someone picked up.    She checked my account and said yes they had been removed.   She told me to log out and clear my cookies on my computer and then log back in.    Did that and they no longer show up.    Let's hope that when we cancel the cruise and use that credit for a future cruise it goes just as smoothly.    Stay healthy everyone and hope this passes soon..

Not sure about it appearing in the Hub app but if you go to your Cruise Manager, select Print Documents and Print General Information the OBC show up on the second page right below the Itemized Charges section.

We are on the Breeze on 4/25  for 7 days and i just checked our account and do not see any OBC processed towards it.   Do I need to have travel agent contact Carnival or will it show up on its own?   I know last time she asked Carnival something she was on the phone forever waiting for them to pick up.   Don't want to waste her time if its going to come thru on its own.     Thanks for any help on this.

Not sure what happened to my earlier post....but I decided NOT to take the chance and booked a hotel to spend one night post cruise in Miami.  But now?  I am probably going to cancel the entire trip as the advice from various health agencies has changed pretty dramatically over the past 24-48 hours.  So now instead of worrying about making a 10:05 flight - I will be trying to cancel cruise, hotels from both ends of the trip (one I KNOW is non-refundable so there goes $800+ or so) and then airline tickets....I am just so happy that Oceania changed the cancellation and refund issue in light of this health issue facing us all.  Again - I need to keep this all in perspective as although I am SO disappointed.....my heart goes out to those that have become seriously/critically ill and worse.

Now to read the "fine print" and figure out what IS covered and refundable, when the absolute deadline is to cancel, etc.  But tomorrow is another day......

We were scheduled for Disney cruise in February.   Unfortunately the morning we were to leave for airport my grand daughter had a 105 temperature and had to be taken to Emergency Room.    She was diagnosed with Flu B and missed a week of school but is fine now.   Good news is that Spirit Airlines gave us 60 days to re-book another flight.    Flight doesn't have to be taken within the 60 days - just re-booked.    We were able to cancel everything and get our money back - minus the insurance cost to cover the trip ($158/ea) and our our one shuttle from Ft Lauderdale to Port of Miami which was on $12/ea.  So we were lucky - hopefully you'll be able to re-coup most of what you have invested.    Good Luck - and stay healthy!  There are always more cruises in the future.

Use Go Port for the hotel with shuttle package. Most hotels near MCO have a free shuttle. That way you can get a decent rate that includes your shuttle to the cruise and back to MCO.

Thanks for the option -  you must have missed my my post below from Monday where we had decided to book with Go Port.  Seems we made a good choice..  safe travels

Thanks to everyone for their replies - we decided to go with Go Port and stay at the Hampton Inn Gateway Village in Orlando.    For 3 of us it was $279 total.    Pick up at airport and take us to hotel / pick up at 9:30 AM at the hotel and take us to Port Canaveral / pick us up at ship after cruise and take us back to Orlando airport.  And that cost includes the hotel.    Our transfer alone for the 3 of us on Carnival was $107 for return from port to airport so it seems like a really good choice.   I've seen good reviews for Hampton so we are looking forward to this trip the end of April.   Happy & safe travels to all.

That's where we're staying at the end of April, too! :)

We are on the Carnival Breeze on 4/25  (1st time on bigger ship for us).  It's 2 of my sisters and myself - celebrating my retirement.   Who are you sailing on?    Flying out of Cleveland non-stop on Spirit.    Rates were reasonable - until you add the seat charges and the checked baggage charge but we were still under $300/ea round trip so I can't complain.   Now just have to figure out how to pack everything in a personal bag  and a checked bag under 40 lbs.  I always over pack

We just used them in January, selected one of the early pick-up hotels, which was the Hampton Inn and Suites Orlando airport at Gateway Village. Absolutely loved the service and the hotel. Could not recommend more highly for the value!

Glad to hear this - we have just booked the same option staying at the Hampton in the end of April before our cruise.   Always love to get recommendations from other cruise critic members.

  8. Just booked a Carnival cruise the end of April and need help with options for staying over night.   Three of us are flying into Orlando the day before - was hoping to find a hotel that has both free airport shuttle and offers a shuttle to Port Canaveral cruise dock.  Even if it has a $10 per person charge or something like that.     We are not familiar with any of the ride options like Uber.    Does anyone know if there are hotels in Port Canaveral that have the shuttles that will pick you up at airport?  I didn't know if any offer that since it looks to be almost an hour away.    Another option is we stay at hotel in Orlando and get up in the morning and take shuttle back to baggage claim at airport and use the Carnival transfer for $35 ea.

Not looking to pay high class.    Would like to stay under the $250 range.    Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Happy & safe travels to all

I bought the beer mug. When I finished my draft beer I would take the glass back to the room and fill with beer I brought. Once your done, take mug to any bar and get the token (card). I would take the mug filled with my beer to dinner regularly, no one cared.

Thanks - I passed this idea on to my son to give him options...

as the day goes on ... folks who rented floats and don't need/want them anymore tend to just leave them where they are .... not returning them to the 'stand' ........

    Catch my drift?????

Good to know - I figured you had to turn them in and they scan your card that you returned them or you would be charged later for not turning them in.      Since it doesn't cost any more to wait and rent one if we need it after we get off the ship we are going to do the wait and see....who knows someone headed back to the ship might even offer theirs.   Happy travels

  11. Do you have the opportunity to rent a raft or float after you arrive on the island of Castaway Cay at the same price ($13) that is offered on our reservation?    Is there any advantage to booking it before you go or if we decide we want to rent one will we be in the same lines as the people who are just picking them up after booking early?   Haven't decided yet whether we need them or not.    Looking for suggestions.    Part of our group has booked the snorkel / raft / bike combo so I'm wondering if we would just use their rafts while they are snorkeling or do they take the float or rafts out there with them for that.    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.    Thanks much

  12. We have 8 people going on the Disney Magic next Monday.   Flights from Cleveland to Miami were too expensive when we booked so we are flying into Ft Lauderdale on Sunday and staying at the LaQuinta in Hollywood FL overnight.   We booked QLS to pick us up at hotel Monday morning and take us to Miami Port and also post cruise to pick us up at Miami Port and take us to FL Lauderdale airport.   Because there are 8 of us it is only $12 per person each way.    So hopefully all goes well...

  13. Thanks so much for the answers above.     Glad to hear that we will get towel animals - that is one of my favorite parts of the end of the day - coming to the room and seeing what kind of animal they left us.    NCL has discontinued doing the towel animals but the room stewards might do them if you request it.   We were on a 13 day fall foliage Quebec City to New York City and we had an animal all nights except one :)    Our room steward on the NCL Dawn was great.

Do you know if the Disney Magic has the slot where you have to put your room key in order for the lights to come on when you enter the room?    Checking to see if I need to take an old casino card to put in the slot because I for sure would walk out without my room key if it wasn't sitting right next to my daily stuff to take with me.

    Safe travels...

  14. First time Disney cruisers - we are  on the Magic Marvel trip 2/10/20 - can anyone tell me if the room stewards leave towel animals every night in the rooms?

Also I know you you are allowed to take a 6 pack of beer on the ship at each port.    Are you allowed to carry these around and drink anywhere on the ship and at dinner or is this just reserved for your room?    I know I read a post where if you want to take a glass of wine to dinner from your room you can ask the bartender for an empty glass to take back to your room to use.    Looking forward to spending this 5 day cruise with family that includes a 6 & 8 year old grandkids who have never cruised.    Thanks in advance for answers and any advise you might want to share.   Happy travels.

Disney does not offer post-cruise excursions from Port Canaveral. However, I did find a listing on the DCL website for a bus tour in Miami that can bring guests to the airport:

    https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/port-adventures/miami-florida-hop-on-hop-off-city-tour-with-airport-transfer-onboard-bookings-only/

This excursion can be booked only onboard. I am not sure whether it will show up on your list of excursions when your booking window opens. If it doesn't, you will need to have a back-up plan in case it isn't actually available on your cruise.

Thanks so much - this is good to know.

  16. We are new to Disney and are on the Magic in Feb 2020 thru Port of Miami.     The flight that we are looking at to return to Cleveland leaves after 7 PM that night.     Since they aren't posting Excursions until 75 days prior to the cruise...can anyone tell me if Disney offers any post cruise excursions in Miami and then drop you at the airport?    There are 8 of us so including 2 little kids so we don't want to consider renting vehicles for the day to do our own thing.     Earlier this year we did a Holland America cruise out of Miami and we did a Everglades Excursion with them after the cruise and they dropped at the airport for our 4pm flight home.    Any information would be greatly appreciated....

  17. Thanks for the extra advice on this.     And Turtles06 - your pictures were awesome - so I'm putting in my notes to make plans to be up and out on deck for the sail by the bridge and also the statue.    Safe travels to everyone and as always cruise critic is where to go to ask for suggestions....

  18. Thanks so much for the extra suggestions.    And thanks to Nitemare for the comment about reaching out with your thumb and hiding the Statue of Liberty.    That's what I was afraid of.   It looks close on the map but figured it was further than it looked.  Time to talk to my sister and decide what we want to do.

  19. We are in port overnight on the ship.   Fly out the next morning.   That was why I was thinking we would be able to take a second short tour after the ships excursion returns us back to the pier.    I'm assuming because we are in port until the next morning that private tour companies will be out all day long selling excursions.    Or if we have time we might get off ship early and see if we can book something for later in the afternoon before we leave  do the NCL one.      The 4 hour excursion leaves at 9:45 and goes thru Lower Manhattan area.  It includes Greenwich Village, Financial District and other neighborhoods on the way to the Seaport where we get on the harbor cruise for a 60 minute boat ride of New York skyline and Ellis Island & the Statue of Liberty.   They have a 6 hour tour that takes you to Ellis Island & Museum and also Statue (outside grounds only) but I'm not really into the history and museums - I'm into taking pictures of things I've never seen before.    The 7 hour excursion in all over New York City but doesn't include seeing the Statue.   We're in our 60's & 70's and not into doing things on our own.    We like having the guide that will tell us what we are looking at and not just walking or driving by and wondering what it is.  Right now we are leaning towards the 4 hour New York Land and Sea.     Thanks for any suggestions.....
