Just got off a cruise and there were two babies on the ship. From what I could see they had a whale of a time and were absolutely no trouble to the other passengers as both had parents who were attentive and caring.
Eating in the Colonnade or Patio was not an issue with the and there were high chairs available. I saw one set of parents in the MDR at night a couple of times and they appeared to have an app on their phone that allowed them to leave the baby in the suite and monitor from the bar or restaurant. Have to say with the attention they paid to the child they must have been tired out so an early night may have been just what they wanted.
Room service, in room bar, TV with loads of films, what more could you want. If your cruise is in a warm climate, an evening on the verandah listening to the waves, watching the moon with a chilled bottle of wine. What more could you want. Remember room service delivers the MDR menu when Dining Room open.- 2

Had he lost his luggage do you think?
Don’t think so, although after a week I was beginning to think he was a stowaway.

Just finished Caribbean Cruise. In restaurant on first formal night everyone looked good. I wore a dinner suit. I have one, it travels well and I think its worth the effort. Probably 25% of men wore a dinner suit with the rest in a lounge suit or sports jacket.
The second night people looked a bit less formal but still all made an effort. Was horrified in TK one night however. A ‘gentleman’ was wearing an out of shape golf/polo shirt which I wouldn’t have worn on a building site and a pair of cargo shorts and sandals. In fact he wore the same clothes at breakfast, every day I saw him. His wife looked very elegant. Very strange!

What is the best way to get to MIA from Seabourn Quest in Miami?
It depends when your flight is?
If soon after arrival get a taxi. If later in day take a bus tour round Miami to Airport. Fills in time and looks after your luggage. Seabourn were offering them but Viator had them on offer too.
We arrived on Tuesday and took a private tour which was excellent.Sure port staff were calling taxis for passengers who had nothing arranged.

Just off Quest. We were allocated a 1.50 check in time and given a strict warning, if we arrived early we would be denied boarding. Our agent arranged a pick up for us from our hotel at 12.30 and he arrived early. We were at the port at 12.45. There was only a couple of other people ahead of us and we walked straight on and were told every suite was ready. No comment about us being early.
It works both ways. I remember having to queue a while in the past because everyone arrived at the same time. Of course with so few people to board it is nothing like the queues for a mega ship. -

Hope the TK Cocktail Bar has better service than on the Encore recently. All bars on our cruise had excellent service but for the TK bar which had staff that didn’t care!
Thats disappointing. Always been our go to on Ovation and Encore.

My tip for Ovation and Encore is use the Thomas Kellar cocktail bar whether you are eating there or not. We always have our pre dinner drink there. Usually a good pianist/singer also.

We were told by our local tour guide, for our safety, do not hand out money to begging children.
We were told the same. Some people saved their nightly pillow chocolates, and handed them out and the kids were delighted. It is difficult when you see the poverty.

Any suggestions for Sihanoukville , also a stop in this itinerary...? A difficult one for me....
My suggestion would be put a bomb under it.
We did a trip from the ship in Jan 2019. Everyone had the same name for it 5hiteville! We visited a couple of temples a market and a beach but that was it. Sadly it was just a massive building site with the Chinese building dozens of casinos. Only bad stop on the cruise.

If you have never visited Ephesus, you should certainly visit during the day. One of the best historical sites I have ever visited. Whilst the included trip at night is worth taking, it is dark and you will not see very much.

We were fortunate to do the Ephesus trip also. It was indeed something special.

Have done the Ko Kood caviar in the surf. It was fantastic.

Only V1’s, which are all the cabins on deck 5, have a metal bottom
Certainly confusing. When Seabourn classified their suites, V1 to V6, half the suites on deck 5 were V1 and half V2 and they all had metal bottoms. Now they only operate with V1 to V4, deck 5 suites are all classified as V1 which of course are all metal bottoms. So we were both correct😀.

think I might accept that V1/V2
V2 on Quest have metal on balcony also. Never been in V1 or V2 before but suite size is exactly the same, we are great sailors so never troubled by rough seas and we have been initially allocated midships anyway. Of course the most important reason is I am a tight Scotsman. $500 will cover some trips.

Received a call from our TA last week, just over 3 weeks out. £199pp to upgrade from V1 to V2 on Quest. Unfortunately we might not be travelling because of family illness but in any event we are booked OB so if we do travel we may get an upgrade for nothing in any event.

Is it too far from the areas of the ship where the activities are?
Never far from anywhere on a Seabourn ship.

We're late to the party
If you leave late ‘from’ the party you wont hear a thing😉.

I wouldn't as booking online for TK is proving difficult and often disappears from sight.
I have read that but I had no problem with my last booking. Just a thought.
-
Perhaps you could simply cancel your booking and rebook?

We have all read about the occasional couple who seem to be able to dine in the TK grill every evening, haven't we? And people wondering how they managed it.
I enjoy TK Grill but once a trip, twice at most is plenty. It is a limited menu and had not changed in all the time I have been sailing with Seabourn. Why anyone would want to eat there every/most nights beats me but each to their own.

would take it as a plus to not receive another tote bag.
We have a closet with maybe 20 of the things, just gathering dust.Saw some for sale on Ebay 😂. You could start a business perhaps US$10 each!
My wife keeps one in the back of her car and uses it for grocery shopping.

Thanks all. Wont save much room but every little helps.

On a Caribbean cruise from Miami in November.
I think I read in an earlier post that someone didn't receive a tote/beach bag on a recent trip but it was perhaps something to do with a supply issue than them no longer being provided.
It wouldn’t be an issue but we are meeting family in Miami for a few days who we haven't met for years and have a lot of requests for ‘things from home’. Happy to take a beach bag with us (we are beach bums) but our luggage will be tight for space.
Can any recent travellers confirm they received a bag?

Never seen tipping on Seabourn although rightly or wrongly we do leave money for room attendants. Coming from UK tipping is not something we do as often or generously as folks from USA.

Baby on board

Have to admit, I am not usually child friendly but these were responsible parents, not only looking after the welfare of the child but being mindful of the 400+ other guests on board.
