  1. Apple Pie Attire

    Apple pie ,sweet apple pie

thou doth make a body sing.

    Awaiting in my cabin fair,

oh indeed you're just the thing,

    To mark my Hal adventure.

greet all the things I know.

Yes sweet apple pie of mine

    'tis sailing I will go.

For certain it's Apple you must be

    Not lemon,peach,or cherry

Nay none of them ever will do,

apple lone makes Hal folk merry.

I can not wait to see you.

    just knowing you'll be there

fills my happy heart with joy.

Tiny question though, what's a gal to wear?

    Love Colleen

  2. Off topic, kind of:

I had lunch with a friend yesterday who was on an Alaskan cruise on HAL earlier this summer. She told me that her waiter, during fixed seating, was Somalian. When I told her he wasn't, she was miffed and disagreed. (I'm now wondering if they've brought in Somalian waiters???)

Perhaps your friend misheard him and he said he was Samoan ??

  3. As we sailed out of our home city of Saint John on the Eurodam a few years back, a couple from Texas who were on deck next to us mentioned that the only way to Nova Scotia from Saint John was by ferry. I assured him that we live here and very often drive to Nova Scotia in just a few hours, although it is possible to take the ferry. He insisted that I was mistaken and he and his wife walked away in a huff. His wife also stated that we couldn't possibly drive to Nova Scotia.

...oh my :D...your DH should have said "Please excuse her,she is easily confused and doesn't get out much " :D:D

  4. We were sailing on an New England /Canada ...when discovering we were Canadian this American gentleman said "Yeah there are a lot on you on board...why the heck would you take a cruise that sailed to Canada ? ".....I am still scratching my head...:D.....either he didn't know how large Canada is and couldn't entertain that maybe some of her citizens hadn't seen all of it..or if they had might like to revisit via a cruise ship....and how he didn't factor in fellow Americans visiting Alaska or Hawaii or the two American ports he had just left I don't know...as I said still scratching my head.....odd thing was he wasn't the only one to ask us this....

  5. Rochelle I am sorry this happened to you...so not fun.

Also I believe the word is clothes not cloths ( cloths being the plural for cloth.. a piece of fabric )..unless my Canadian is showing... we tend to throw in extra letters here and there.;):)

  6. I wonder how many Holland American crew members are enjoying this World Cup match...Holland vs Costa Rica.

Some how I have become a soccer/football fan....not sure if it is the athletic prowess, edge of your seat drama, or the not too ugly players who certainly seem quite healthy :o;)

Whatever the reason I am cheering for Holland....hope they are taking turns steering the ships.:D Enjoy the game.!!

  8. The older I become the more I accept not everyone thinks the same way I do (still catches me off guard every once in a while;) ).... will keep your list in mind whenever I post Tracie :).... nothing better than a good discussion if you keep your mind and ears open...hard to do when things get nasty or worse yet personal.

  9. an

Victoria & Copper.. Thank you so much in sharing your stories with us.. My only wish is that there are no more wars & pray for peace every day..

Absolutely Betty..' date=',the world needs a lot more " tulips[/font']":)

These stories are a poignant reminder of what war really costs mankind...if misunderstanding the purpose and placement of flags in a dining room can cause offense no wonder world peace is so illusive.

My birthday is July 1 ..DH's Nov 11...hard to forget a birthday at our house ....should come in handy as we age ;)
