  1. Has anyone found out what the Escape will be doing for the Wednesday that they won’t be docked? Two days is already more than enough time to get from NYC to Bermuda...three days seems almost excessive. Would they just go even slower?

I remember when the Dawn ran aground off Bermuda a couple years ago, and had to go back to port for the night. The Breakaway arrived and tendered in the Sound for Wednesday, and then docked once the Dawn left. I wonder whether they could treat Wednesday as a tender day? Or maybe the port would be too full?

NCL Dawn once tendered from Grassy bay into HAMILTON one Wednesday on a cruise we took.

  2. Can you please elaborate.... I am in the planning stages and can't make up my mind between deck 9 or deck 10 for the 15 night Panama Canal cruise in Nov 2019 and would hate to have a cabin that has issues!!!

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Elaborate what?

There are No reported issue's in this area.

  3. Outside your cabin door is a Blank wall with a solid door on both end's.

It was the Internet cafe before Dawn's revamp.

Now its a quite seating area with a few couches and chair's overlooking the atrium below ,the stage and such.

  4. Hello New Mexico Nita,

I’m looking forward to reading your review. I will be on The Dawn September 7th for a Boston to Bermuda cruise.

Did you take photos of the main dining room menus?

Menus posted online are about 3 years old.

If no photos, can you write about some of your favorite items in the MDR

    Brian

There are 27 MDR menu variations for the head chief to chose from.

No way to guess in advance of which will be offered.

  5. I'm stealing this from a very old thread (back to 2005) since it was very outdated.

One cruiser mentioned they like to give small gifts for their cabin steward, waiter, etc. (In addition to the standard tips). I thought this was a great idea so I am mentioning a few that I saw on that old thread.

One mentioned they really need/use are international calling cards to call home, but since they all have cell phones this is outdated. The updated version would be Visa/Amex gift cards.

Tide pods are great because they do their own laundry. Another old idea was mini hershey bars, kisses, suckers, etc.

Today at work someone was selling candy bars for their kid's fundraiser. So for $1 I can give one to my cabin steward, waiter, etc while supporting their kid. It's like double dipping into the nice gesture pool.

    Anyone have any other ideas?

:) On NCL , you could Bring your bartender a box of straws. ;p

  6. We just came back from Norwegian Escape cruise to Bermuda. The ship was docked for 2 1/2 days. It was great not to worry to be late for the ship's departure for 2 days, come and go.

Did anyone try to book an Elbow Beach Resort for 1 or 2 nights stay while on a cruise? It would be nice to spend a day or 2 at the resort and enjoy a wonderful beach and then go back to ship at the day of the departure. I know it's expensive but for a special occasion like an anniversary... I know we can do a day pass but would like to stay a bit longer...

Crazy idea? :DDid anyone ever tried it?

@ $895 per night at Elbow beach resort, NO!! ;p
