We cruised 7 times 2022, 4 times in 2023 and 2 times (so far) in 2024 and have yet to see a line or problem getting tags from the luggage handler taking our luggage. Lucky I guess.

Our choice to get tags this way...so far so good but each to their own.

We were on Oasis in Miami two months ago. There was a long, chaotic line at the terminal because a whole busload had no luggage tags.  Our bus pulled up behind them, and there was no room to get off the bus.  Our bus driver couldn't even start unloading luggage because there was no room on the traffic island.

    You have been extremely lucky.

  2. I finally sold.  300% increase!  I'll take a significant tax hit, but it was worth the ride.

I'll repurchase it seven days before my statement, get my OBC, and probably sell.

I do not see another long-term entry point.

One of the stupidest things that Royal does is preauthorize all your purchases on your card but then charge the entire amount as a separate transaction at the end of the cruise.  You end up with double your onboard spending showing up as pending.  While that isn't a problem for us since we have high and no limit credit cards for some people it might be a problem.  Also for those without credit cards who use debit cards it extremely stupid since it's not just credit that is tied up but actual cash.

RCI wants their money.  It's not stupid at all.  Your bank is supposed to add the pre-auths and delete the hold.

If your bank has a hold longer than five days, find a new bank.

  4. It's a security issue.  RCI wants to x-ray your bags. I want RCI to x-ray your luggage.

Cabin availability is getting closer to 2 pm.

In many ports, it's a long hike uphill to get to deck 5.

Getting in an elevator with luggage can be a frustrating exercise.

If they want access to the SL that bad, go for it.  That's a lot just to get into a place and sit to talk and eat more stuff.

We certainly would not do that just to get into the SL - there's zero financial benefit for it.

Maybe for CK.  But to go through all that effort for CK?  Ok...

The number of people who actually go through all of that would be even smaller than the Pins who are sailing with friends in the same cabin.

    50-50.

We have P friends who are in the very high 1,400 points.  Guarantees us access to CK.

Spoiler alert.  I’ve been in most of the suite lounges.

On Royal Caribbean it isn’t a massive perk.

I think some here have been brainwashed by Royal into thinking it’s a lot more than it is.

PS - the coffee machine in the Liberty Crown Lounge is better than the one in the Suite Lounge.  Just don’t tell any suite guests that…

I agree for the most part. Once they removed free drinks, cold food was not a big draw.  It's really not worth the hike on Quantum class ships unless you are in a 'free drink' suite.

Exceptions: 1] I really like the Radiance class Concierge Clubs.  2]  Could be a winner on Oasis class with free beer and wine. Plus, will they stop you from using CK next door?

As @twangster mentioned that is likely a very rare scenario - especially someone booking their SO in another cabin just to take advantage of their "perk".

We are already thinking about that very issue.

Booking someone in another cabin is not permanent.

We booked the two guys in the 'drink package' cabin and the two ladies in the 'dry' cabin. A trip to GS services and the cards are swapped.
