    Alcairns,

Unfortunately what you are referencing here does not pertain to sailings from Southampton, UK prior to 9/6.  I did receive a followup call today from Princess correcting their phonemail message from yesterday.  They confirmed the information as written on the website for Southampton, UK sailings prior to 9/6 is correct.

My apologies! It does seem nonsensical that for a few weeks there will be no proctored testing then after the 6th it is back to proctored testing for transocean voyages.

Alcairns, can you direct me to where it states a a proctored covid test is required for a trans-Atlantic cruise from Southampton on 9/2/ 2022 when it is stated on the Princess "Health Protocols" section CruiseHealth FAQ: Sailings from the United Kingdom - Updated 13 August 2022, under the "Vaccination and Testing Requirements FAQ #2 - It states "..... Guests no longer need to provide a test certificate, however they will be asked to confirm that the test has been taken, with a negative result, as part of the pre-boarding health declaration at the cruise terminal/airport. ....".?

Also is a Hawaii RT cruise from the west coast considered a TransPacific cruise?

In fact, it would be after 9/6 they could make the argument the rules change you need the Covid test proof for a "trans-Ocean" cruise.  Also why are we now using "trans-Ocean" versus "trans-Atlantic".  I have never seen a cruse sold as "trans-Ocean".

Because Princess offers TransPacific cruises as well as Transatlantic. I though the protocol on Trans Ocean cruises was quite clear - you need a proctored covid test regardless of sail date.

Just as SueKel reported, my cabin was neither ready nor accessible at boarding time.  There was an announcement that cabins were accessible, sometime between 1 and 1:30.

Same here. The hallway doors have also been shut without access to the cabins.

Wouldn't you have to pick up the car at the cruise port too?  Avis might not want airport>cruise port rentals.

No - I am picking the car up from MIA and returning it to the FortLauderdale Cruise Port Shuttle. I booked online and selected both pick up and drop off on their drop down menus.

Some.  I will bet a least 50% or will ignore and lie about it and this is based on several of our earlier cruises this year where at least that many passengers ignored Princess' recommended health protocols on the ship.

Princess will need to increase the number of quarantine cabins but you can bet they are not increasing medical staff.

This may be a good thing as that 50% who ignore then on board test positive for Covid will end up having a miserable time in quarantine. For the sake of a £1.50 LFT it’s worth testing before the cruise.

I've read that pier testing in Southampton is being cut back.  We were counting on it as we're disembarking from a Celebrity ship the same day we embark a Princess ship.  Is it still available?   If so, do we book ahead?  How?

If not, we will try to find something in Southampton.   Lloyd's doesn't offer it on that particular day (September 30),  but I believe there's a regenerative clinic in the shopping centre that does.  TIA for information

There is no longer an official testing station at the terminal. Princess however provide testing for those passengers that did not get there own medically reviewed tests back in time.

This is one of the best improvements of the Royal class ships.

Their Platinum and Elite lounge has become disappointing since the return from Covid shutdown. Nothing that couldn't be ordered in the DR. With the drink package many people just bypass the the function completely.

I was referring to happy hour in the concierge suite not the elite and platinum daily function. Never go to these as we seem to get ignored by the waiters.

Unfortunately these menus will be out of date now. The premier package was introduced 25/6 and these menus are from May.  It might give an idea but the wine choices and prices in particular will be different now.  Have seen a couple of newer menus but I can’t find them now !

If you go to post 57 on page 3 you will get Crooners list from July.

  10. I hope this may be helpful. Attached is the link to the current 2022  Princess drinks price list. Almost all of the drinks are within the $12 Plus limit. If you  are buying the premiere package for the drinks alone then I expect it is because you are a connoisseur and enjoy really fine wines and spirits. If, like me, you are not sophisticated in your drinking habits then to me  it’s not really worth it.
