We cruised with my then-78 year old mother and her best friend from high school. Though they were the same age, they had entirely different cruise experiences. It was too much for my mom. Her friend had a blast. Age is just a number. If your grandmother is active, go for it. If she has trouble moving around you might want to consider other options.

I have been to both. Prefer Belize by far. We did the excursion to Xunantunich. Long bus ride but we got to see a lot of Belize. When we climbed the temple at the ruins we could see Guatamala. Costa Maya seems too fake.

We thought it was good. We had the dining package and were happy to give it a try.

We're booked in a Grand Suite for a Baltic cruise on Vision in August and again on a Southern Caribbean cruise on Jewel next March. We've never been in a Grand Suite. Were booked in one on Jewel and got an up sell call for an owner's suite. It was nice. Suite guests had the option of being escorted off the ship in port, avoiding the need to wait in line. Reserved seating for the shows was nice. Enjoy your trip!

Does anyone know if taxis take credit cards?

Refreshing worked for me.

I have been trying since yesterday to view my scheduled shore excursions for my upcoming Baltic cruise. Getting the "something went wrong" message. Seems like an awfully long outage so I am wondering if there's an issue with my particular record--and those of others having problems. Will try to call later today.

We took Royal to Cuba. They seemed to be aware of the documentation requirements of the various passport holders on board. Even the differing requirements of Cubans, depending upon what year they emigrated.

My DH and I cruise Royal when it's just the two of us but Disney when we vacation with our daughter and her family. It's pricier, for sure, but Disney has the vacation with kids thing down pat. And happy kids means happy parents and grandparents. The crew is just so good at dealing with kids.
One example--my daughter and son-in-law celebrated their anniversary at Palo while we ate in the dining room with our grandsons. Their 14 month old took it in stride until I left the table to take his brother to the bathroom. No mommy, no NiNi, time to cry. The wait staff immediately distracted him and all was well.
From my perspective, those kinds of things are worth the $1,000 difference.

The email I saw said $200 per stateroom for standard staterooms, and $400 for suites. Of course, in typical RC fashion, they are not explicit that suites include JS in this case. Also, I'm not sure the OBC is given in addition to the price protection, that part is fuzzy too.
RC told my travel agent that JS qualifies for the $400 OBC. It is in addition to the price protection.
I am really unhappy about this cancellation since we'd originally booked a Navigator cruise that was chartered. I've got $800 in OBC now but on a ship and itinerary I am not as excited about. The price protected sailings didn't work well with our schedule.

Please let us know the next cruise you book.;p
So you can avoid it?! Jewel on February 25. I am less than thrilled as we've been to most of these ports. Options at this point weren't great. I now have two ship board credits to compensate but I am disappointed that I won't have the itinerary that I booked.

Also not a book but we just watched the movie Papa: Hemingway in Cuba. Based on a true story, it was very interesting. We cruise in April on the Empress.

Not my last cruise but a disaster. I had pre-packed several newly purchased tops for a 12 night cruise to Hawaii. Left them all neatly folded in my closet!!!

Cool. We'll hit 140 in April on Empress which is the very first ship we sailed on.

It seems all the port areas have a fenced area around them, not just Belize. We have walked around right outside the port area without any problem but always at the end of an excursion, not right on arrival when it is chaos.
Anyway, I loved Xunantunich. We have also been to Altun Ha and Xunantunich was much better and less crowded. Only book with the cruise line though as it is very far away. We got back after the last tender time but the cruise line knew that and there were tenders running for the late cruise excursions.
Second this! One of my favorite excursions ever.

In the same cruise. My TA says it has been switched to a 4 night Bahamas cruise.

We too just booked our first aft for September, 2016 for 29 days! A b2b Vancouver, B.C. to Hawaii to Sydney! So excited! :D
We have an aft cabin on the Vancouver to Hawaii leg of your b2b!

Well, after reading many posts regarding aft cabins, we finally decided to give them a try. Just booked 2 corner afts (7388 and 7688) on deck 7 of the Explorer for Alaska next summer. After looking at pictures and watching videos, we decided the corner balconies looked to be the best. Rather than book 2 afts beside each other we took both corners of deck 7. Our children still like the idea of looking down at the water, so they are in the D3 cabins close to ours. Hope we will love them!
We first experienced an aft balcony on our cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii. The ship picked up a seriously large amount of fishing net on the propeller beneath us which caused more vibration than usual. It was still the most awesome cabin we have ever had. Loved it.

We recently sailed on Dream with our daughter and her family. We bought the unlimited digital package for their room because we mostly wanted pix of the kids. Some, but not all, of the pictures of the two of us showed up on the CD.

Two of my favorite cruises on Rhapsody--Alaska and Vancouver to Hawaii. Sad she is leaving those routes.

We were on this cruise this time last year, and had the aft junior suite next to the corner on the port side. Loved that balcony. And the whole trip (except for the little scare when the prop picked up a big bunch of fishing net) was fabulous. Do NOT miss the sunset when you leave Kauai.

Royal Caribbean ruining our Spring Break in an unbelievable way!

We’re Diamond Plus and we had two cruises canceled for this year’s Southern Caribbean cruise. First one was chartered, the second was put in dry dock. It was the first (and second) time this happened to us. Fortunately, it was just my husband and I traveling and our vacation time is flexible. It was aggravating none the less and we weren’t able to work out the itinerary we wanted. I’m surprised that they chartered during Soring Break when they would ordinarily sell out at premium prices. I understand your anger but unfortunately there’s not much you can do other than book another cruise or land vacation.
