I highly recommend Deckhand Dave's for fish tacos.

I think that’s the train that leaves from behind my airbnbinstead of the airport. Of course for me to take it on the same day I would’ve had to leave around 6am instead of 1pm and it would’ve cost almost twice as much.
But you would have arrived in Seward in time to take Kenai Fjords boat tour. My favorite Alaska activity.

Since we are into the college football season I am curious if this sport 21 being the only sports channel on this ship is typical of NCL or is it only because the ship is operating between Seward and Vancouver?
I know we had it on my Venezia transatlantic but they said once it got to NYC the tv package would change and they would get all of the espn channels.
That would be awful.

We were on the Encore in Alaska last year. The only port that had a really long line for a shuttle was Ketchikan. Icy Strait Point and Juneau you pretty much get off the ship and can walk to the area where your excursion will be. Skagway was cancelled on my voyage, can't comment on that one.
Ward Cove sucks.

I wouldn't necessarily call Major Marine the "main company" in Seward. Kenai Fjords Tours appears to do a comparable amount of trips out of Seward.

Just don't take the ship's whale watching excursion. As many people as they can cram onto the boat.

So…
sometimes you come home from a trip and everything is fine.
Sometimes you come home and the pipe in the upstairs bathroom bursts the moment you turn the water back on at the source and you have water damage all through the walls and the downstairs bathroom ceiling and the downstairs bathroom walls.
That sucks. I had something similar happen last year. Easy to find someone to do the demo and drying; not so easy to find someone to do the reconstruction. Hopefully your contractor situation is better in Vancouver.

How far us the walk from tour boat to Cruise ship? My itinerary shows the Radiance of the Sea departing at 7.
Don't walk. Take the shuttle.

Does anyone have any experience parking at Canada Place for their cruise? We are driving to the cruise port for this one. We reserved and pre-paid for the parking months ago. Just curious about logistics and any other issues folks may have experienced. We were just able today to get our boarding time which is 11:00 AM Aug 26th.
I parked at Canada Place last year for my 7-day cruise after driving up from Oregon. Entry is easy; just like any other parking structure. No assigned space, but there are areas for longer term parking. I was staying one night at Pan Pacific so very easy to access hotel.
The only issues I had were upon exiting the garage at the end of my cruise. I had a bar code which should have opened the exit gate. Unfortunately, it wasn't working. Had to wait for one of the few attendants to wander by and see that there was a problem. It took them a few minutes to get the gate to work. Also, be careful when you book your reservation that you specify your arrival time at Canada Place. The website defaults to a midnight arrival time on your arrival date so I got charged for an extra day. I tried to resolve the matter after the fact, but company was not responsive. Things may have changed since then.
I got Covid the last day of the cruise so I was happy that my car was waiting for me in Vancouver at the end of the cruise.

NCL is chickening out of Hubbard if there is ice within 50 miles of the ship. (Perhaps I exaggerate. A little).

The Marquise is rather phallic in its shape.

After checking your bags at the depot, take the 6:45 a.m. train from Anchorage the morning of your cruise. After arriving in Seward around 11:00 a.m., immediately board the Kenai Fjords or Marine Major 6 hour boat tour of the Kenai. It returns to Seward around 5:00 p.m., in plenty of time to board your cruise ship. The Kenai may be the best "excursion" you do in all of Alaska. The bags you checked in Anchorage will be waiting for you in your stateroom.
It really couldn't be easier.

Being able to see Kenai Fjords with the glacier, whales and wildlife would be worth the time and money, in my opinion, rather than getting a $50 excursion credit.
Absolutely.

Took the bus. It is exactly the same route and about 1/3 to 1/2 the time. The bus also leave at much better times and is very reasonably priced.
Not exactly the "same route". The train, while slower and more expensive, is much more scenic, IMO.

I booked from NCL the embarkation train from Anchorage airport to Seward for boarding Norwegian Jewel. My cruise depart 14 August. I have some question:
- when i receive the ticket for this train? It's a excursion to board the ship so, i need to receive ticket in advance.
-It' s possible to choise the seat on the train? I like to have a window forward facing seat.
-When i make check in online for my cruise last available boarding time slot to chose is 4:30-5:00 PM. The train arrive in Seward at 6 PM i hope they wait for all people arriving by train.
I prefer the 6:45 a.m. train to Seward booked directly with Alaska RR. No, you can't pick you seat location. On Gold Star service (maybe Adventure too) all seats are forward facing. I've never found the lack of a window seat to be an issue. People are up and moving about the train and window views are available (at least temporarily) for most of the trip.
If you take the late NCL train, you will miss out on the taking a boat tour of the Kenai Fjords, which for me is the highlight of the cruise.
