  1. Sue and Steve,

I was posting on the thread for our Jewel Repo from Boston to Tampa in 2012 and Loie (Beachcombers) said that she had quite a few cruise buddies on our LOST cruise, mentioning you two. She also mentioned Bette and Bill and Larry and Cherie. I have felt a little daunted by that thread as so many of the regulars all know each other from taking the Repo many times.

Hopefully they will welcome newbies to the Jewel club,

    Corinne

I don't know many of those either but by the time we do this cruise plus the TA and Repo on Jewel I figure we should have lots of new friends. We plan a get-together on Liberty for those that will also be on the Jewel TA so maybe we should do one for those that will be on the Repo too. It's always easier to meet and visit with people in a smaller group rather than finding everyone at the M&M.

  2. I have a question for those of you familiar with Spain, what time can we expect nightfall in October? I know here in California it is fully dark by 6:00 in the evenings in October. Thanks in advance for the help....

According to a chart I just saw it should set about 6:51 on the 28th. Clocks will be set back on the 29th.

Sherry, That is wonderful news!! It's certainly nice to have some of that.

  3. Gay, I think Leo Papa is the current CD. I just don't know if he'll bring us back across. A lot of times they start or end a contract at the beginning of a TA. Some of the CDs are better with all the sea days. I think Gordon W took her over but I don't know when they switched over. I like some better than others but sometimes it's nice to have a new one.

  4. Donna I hadn't checked my online reservations so just had a quick look but neither of mine state the OBC but as with you it does state it on the invoices. In April when I done the B2B on Vision I was given $50 OBC for each cruise and it was applied no problem. I will just take a copy of my final invoice to make sure they add it on board :D I'm sure someone with more experience will be able to answer if there is away of confirming OBC online:D

Matt, I don't know that you can confirm it online but the Guest copy of the reservation should show it if it's from Royal. Ones from TA's usually aren't shown anywhere.

  5. We are cashing in $350 Visa Points, plus $50 from my Agent :D.

I like that!! I have the same from mine.;) Actually my agent paid for my whole cruise!! :D We can't use the shareholder's either but the balcony discount was great.

I got a note from the Concierge last week and as of then they did not know who the CD would be. I still have fingers crossed for Mike S but I don't think he is set on his future plans yet. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

  6. Wow! I don't check in for a while and then I thought you had all ran off. :D

Peter, I've been thinking about you and am so sorry things didn't work out with the job but we'll just hope that will just be a detour on to an even better future. Best wishes.

Congrats on your Blue Ribbon status, Corinne.

I'd love to connect to more people and see your cruise and travel pictures on FB. I'm Marilyn Firquain if some of you want to connect too. You won't find too many Firquains!!!

Our temperatures dropped about 20 degrees from yesterday and it's quite nice to be able to walk outside without practically falling over.

Made out final payment and have the online check-in done so now I'm ready to concentrate on this trip.

  7. Well, we already get a HUGE discount for Travel agents, $280 pp for an inside cabin, $350 for an outside cabin and $525 for a Balcony Cabin on a 7 day cruise for being a travel agent

Somehow these are never available on the cruises I want to book. We've hit one only one time in 10 years so I hope everyone doesn't get the impressions that all Travel Agents pay those rates all the time. Actually the last time I booked one, our friends ended up going cheaper than us when a really good senior or resident rate opened up and they could adjust their price and we couldn't. Kinda funny!

  8. Deck - Sunrise

    Cabin # - 7298

    Class – 2B

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

    Bed near? Balcony

    Quiet Cabin Very Quiet

Balcony View - Good. Looking down on lifeboats but not a distraction at all.

    Balcony Size? Normal

    Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? None

Any other comments? We actually liked the bed by the balcony and had no problem with access to the closet. I put a small pop-up mesh hamper in that floor space so it worked great. When I was on for a 2 night in November I thought the storage might be skimpy but I think we would be fine on a much longer cruise as well. I was prepared to not like the overbed storage but it was very functional as well.
